We're a heating, cooling, and refrigeration contractor based at 414 Broad Street in Bloomfield, New Jersey. We work across six service lines, all of them under one roof. On the heating side, that means furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and radiant and baseboard systems. For air conditioning, it's central air, mini-splits, and high-efficiency replacements. Refrigeration is where the company got its start, and it's still part of what we handle every week, residential and commercial. We install and service ventilation systems, fabricate custom ductwork right on premise, and design air purification solutions for homes and businesses that need cleaner indoor air.

Excellent experience with Basic Refrigeration Inc. in Bloomfield, NJ. Our central AC unit suddenly stopped working, and we also discovered a significant water leakage/drainage issue. We reached out to Basic Refrigeration Inc, and they were able to fit us into their schedule and arrive within an hour, which we greatly appreciated. The technician quickly diagnosed the problem, resolved both the AC issue and the water leakage/drainage problem, and took the time to clearly explain exactly what was causing it. What impressed us most was that they didn’t simply fix the immediate problem, they also explained the steps we could take going forward to help prevent the issue from happening again. Very responsive, knowledgeable, professional, and efficient service from start to finish. It’s difficult to find a company that responds this quickly when your central AC unexpectedly goes down, especially during the summer. I find it soon impossible to believe that.They have good reviews on here must be some friends or bias people that know them.. I'll start by saying 3 years ago I had a boilers install which was $8000 by them... Although it comes with a one year warranty right after that one year, it broke. So I repaired it out of my own pocket.. Then today, 3 years later, sensor are broke and a few other things.... I have had boilers that last me over 20 years without repairing them. So they are either not selling quality boilers. And this one is a Utica manufacturing company, which is horribly unreliable. Do not buy a Utica boiler.This should not break right after the warranty is finished. Sounds kind of shady to me.... I called 2 people in his office early today.Leaving messages and none have returned phone calls.Then I was finally able to reach him on the phone and have a conversation.... You would have thought being a good customer. Both would have called me back, followed up or even made a call to check it out or even got in touch with the company no sympathy whatsoever....8k i spent? The least u can do???? Then he decides to tell me that it's the supplier company that put a bad part in maybe now, if you know or think that why are you still dealing with a company like that? Why don't you call them and take control of the situation and call me back and get to the bottom of this horrible business practice..show some curtousey. File a report and attempt to keep me as a customer....horrible.service...

We were so pleased with the work we received from Jeff and his two workers. Our AC coil had a leak and was under warranty. Jeff was able to get in contact with the distributor and get the part. He told me as soon as it came in, he would call and set up an installation date. We heard from him within a week, that he received the part and can come tomorrow at 9am. At promptly, 9am he was there. Did a great job, removed the old coil and took it with him. Highly recommend Jeff and his company.

Called for ice Machine and HVAC service. I was supposed to get a consultation. someone else fixed the ice machine because i needed it fixed asap before Basic had an appointment to come. But, my HVAC still needed servicing. My manger was setting up a catered event. The rep spoke to my manager over the phone and the rep would not listen to the issue, just wanted to know how he was going to get paid. I get it. All service people want to get paid...that's how it works. All he had to do was call me, the owner, back and he would see that I would have paid in any of his preferred methods. Instead, he just took off. I suspect there is another reason why he thought he would not get paid.....I hope I am wrong...either way, Not professional.

My furnace was on the fritz, so I called Basic. Jeff answered (no voicemail!) and arrived at my home within 15 minutes. He told me that he wasn't sure of the problem yet -- didn't want to charge me for parts/repairs I didn't need, so did some diagnostics and called to re-evaluate hours later. Based on the tests, he determined what I needed, bought the part, and showed up the next day promptly as promised to install it. He encouraged me to reach out if I had any other issues. This is the way service should be. Jeff is pleasant, honest, thorough, responsive, and reasonably priced. And I have heat! I would recommend Basic Refrigeration in a heartbeat.

My AC went out during several days of 90+ degree heat. Called Jeff and the team at Basic Refrigeration. They responded promptly. Replaced a fuse to the fan motor. Could have easily told me I needed a new fan motor but he didn't, so the fix was a $15 part instead of several hundred for a new fan motor. HORRIFIC. Basic installed two new systems into my home 5 years ago. They contracted new units, which I came to find out were years old. I have had nothing but problems every summer with the systems. Basic made simple mistakes like not connecting the wires properly to major mistakes like not install the system properly (ducts, pumps etc.) so that my system kept failing, freezing up, losing freeon etc. One unit was not properly connected so it vibrated itself into misalignment. System was overtaxed so that major parts such as pumps are already on last legs after only 5 years. Just paid Reiner to re-do so that now we actually get proper air conditioning. WORSE THAN HORRIFIC. If I could give 0 stars I would.
