• BE AWARE!!! I had this company replace my ptac unit. They just shoved it in the wall without any insulation. The cold air was getting inside easily through the crack they left wide open, and on the coldest night in NYC the unit stopped working just 4 month after it was installed. My pipes froze and burst at 4 am. Burned my hands trying to turn off the valve. Had my floors damaged, and in general, was left traumatized. If I weren't home, the entire building would be damaged. After extensive research,I found out the Islandaire unit they installed had no freeze protection enabled. Meaning the unit does not come on even when the temperature goes below 40 degrees. Apparently, that is how the Islandaire sells the units and is up to the installer to either order the unit with freeze protection on, or enable it themselves. They did not do it and that makes me very angry, especially that I asked during installation about freeze protection. Which they confirmed will work the same as all other 3 old units I had no problem with for 13 years. The manager Ganash, showed zero accountability, not even an apology. I will be taking this matter to court. If they installed Islandaire unit in your home, have it checked that freeze protection is enabled so you do not have to deal withwhat I went through.
