  • Had them come out for a routine gas boiler cleaning. Professional and polite. Easy to talk to and provided useful information for homeowner maintainence. Nick was great.

  • I can't say enough great things about Coastal! After years of putting off having heat pumps installed, they have been amazing. They arrived with a full crew (while it was raining, then pouring) were prepared and completed my whole house (and it is no small house, they installed a ducted heat pump system upstairs and wall mounted units downstairs, in a very old house) in one day! They are fair with pricing and incredibly attentive to detail. If I could rate them more than 5, I would!

  • We had a mini split system installed by coastal in Dec of 25. We recently turned the system on due to the hotter weather and WOW. It is an amazing system. There are 2 condensers outside running 6 wall units inside. 3 on the first, 2 on the second, and 1 on the 3rd floor. It was a massive amount of work and Coastal got it done in ONE day with 8 guys completing it. The entire crew Mike, Lisa, Nick, Dana, Alex, and everyone else were absolutely phenomenal. I would highly recommend Coastal Air Conditioning for your mini split system Sincerely Jay Quincy Ma.

  • We used Coastal to install whole-home heat pumps and had a great customer experience. The team was highly responsive even before installation, answering all of our questions promptly and guiding us through each step of the process. Mike and Lisa were especially helpful and always available, making sure we felt supported and informed throughout. The installation team was professional, respectful of our home and the environment, and completed the entire system efficiently and on schedule within a day. We are very satisfied with our new system and truly appreciate the dedication and service provided by Coastal. Highly recommended.

  • We used Coastal before for an emergency fix on the heat pumps in our former home two years ago. Based on their professionalism and prompt service, we knew we would use them for future projects. Mike and his team did a fantastic job installing a Mitsubishi mini split system in our new home recently. The team that did the work were incredibly friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Lisa in the office was very courteous and helpful. Mike was always available to answer any technical questions or assist with the Mass Save Heat Loan and Rebates. The team installed our system in a day and spent the time showing us how to use the new system as well as the Mitsubishi app. We would 100% recommend Coastal Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone!!!

  • Excellent Service from Start to Finish! I recently had a new HVAC system installed in my home, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, the team was professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. They took the time to assess my home’s specific needs and recommended a system that was energy-efficient and within my budget. The installation was completed on time, with minimal disruption, and the crew left the workspace clean and tidy. They made sure everything was running perfectly before they left. Since the installation, my home has been consistently comfortable, and hope to see a drop in my energy bills. Highly recommend this company for anyone looking for reliable and high-quality HVAC installation!

  • 5 stars isn't enough. During a heat wave (105°) I called, and because I wasn't a long-time customer, they just couldn't fit me in. They gave me a couple of phone #s to call, and I got an appointment for the next day. They called me back and said they could squeeze me in, but I said I was all set. That was until I got a quote. To try to keep this short, the quote was outrageous. I called Lisa, and she had her guys out, and they gave me a quote for a full heat pump replacement that was $11,000 cheaper than I had. It got easier after that. Lisa contacted me almost daily to arrange everything. Day of installation everyone was on time, clean and professional. And they were done before their scheduled finish time. The owner Mike was fantastic to deal with. Nick, Alex, and Dana were amazing, but Lisa is special. She doesn't know me from a whole in the wall, but cared about me and everything like we were lifelong friends. This is the Company and People you want to deal with. No exceptions. And I will recommend them to everyone I know.

  • *Update- the owner Mike called me and apologized for the poor customer service. He was very kind and understanding and is refunding us for the second visit.* We hired Coastal to fix the AC in our condo. Unfortunately, it stopped working again less than 2 weeks after the initial repair. They came back and told us the entire system needed to be replaced because our R22 refrigerant was low. We were told by the tech, Alex, the second visit would be no charge but ended up getting an invoice anyway, which we did pay. In total we paid ~$750 for the two visits and were unfortunately still without AC. When we called to discuss the estimate for a full system replacement, the customer service experience was very disappointing. We asked if there was any flexibly on pricing given what we had already paid. The woman on the phone responded with hostility and seemed to get angry at me for even asking. She abruptly ended the call with “good luck” and hung up on me. After this upsetting interaction, we got a second opinion. It turns out the R22 levels were in fact not low- the real issue was the internal fan speed setting simply needed to be increased. Our AC now works perfectly, and we avoided spending over $10,000 on an unnecessary replacement. If you’re considering working with Coastal, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion.

  • Sent someone out, who said would have quote within week. 2 weeks later I called and they said they don't want the job because no plywood on floor of attic. That is easily remedied and very unprofessional that someone wouldn't contact me to let me know.

  • Mike's team at Coastal provided excellent service from the point of first contact to questions following the completion of the work. On both the administrative side, and the labor side, they were courteous, efficient, and performed above expectations. Would highly recommend Coastal Heating, Air Conditioning, and Plumbing to anyone in need!

  • Thanks to both Lisa and Alex P for your recent help with setting up diagnostic appointment. Both were so polite and professional to deal with!

  • Coastal heating and air systems were installed efficiently and on time. The crew were not only professional but most pleasant to have in our home.

  • Scam job. A 270 dollar charge for following the maufacturer manual for my water heater and ordering a part, then telling me to go on YouTube to learn how to install it myself. They didn't even order the right part. I would have been better off dealing with it myself, oh and I'd still have the 270 bucks. I called back stating that I already payed, and asking will they fix the water heater? I was told that no it will be another charge for them to come out again and they didn't want to argue about money, and that a manager would call back. Never got a call back, and since they ordered the wrong part, that would mean at least two more visits before my 400 dollar water heater could potentially be fixed. So no hot water for three weeks at the least and 270 x 3 = 810 dollars. What a joke!

  • Words are not enough to describe the exceptional team and service Coastal Heating provided. Lisa was extremely helpful and knowledgeable during my initial call in search of help to repair my furnace that stopped working. She was friendly and took the time to understand the issue. It was a no brainer to choose to work with Coastal Heating after my chat with Lisa. Nick the service tech called in advance to provide ETA to my property. He demonstrated professionalism, knowledge and attention to details to ensure that all our issues, concerns and questions were addressed. We were up and running in no time. I didn't get the additonal tech's name but he clearly showed that he was inline with the Coastal Heating work ethics and model. We are grateful that there's still a business that offers personable, professional and fair priced services. Thank you Coastal Heating!

  • My AC had leaking and Coastal is the only company who can come to repair my AC. Mike found out where the leaking from and repair the problem. However, my AC is too old, I decided to replace new one through Coastal. The service experience is excellent! The front desk lady was very nice. Strongly recommended!

  • Can’t say enough about the great service I received from Coastal. Two young men showed up with the unit at 9am and had it up and running by 10am. They were very polite and courteous, plus they didn’t leave a mess. I would definitely recommend them!

  • Coastal replaced the HVAC system in our unit. They have extensive experience working at the condo complex. The team was courteous, professional, and exceptionally skilled. Highly recommended.

  • What should I say about this company ? Let me start by saying that this company exists because there is no competition. I did business before with them, and let me tell you that the installation crew does what there expect to do. B+ for the crew. But to get hold of this company is a hassle. And their prices are up the roof. They take advantage of the season, and they hit you with a very very expensive bill. Don't get me wrong , I'm all in about private business making money, but I hate when they take advantage of you. Let me explain how that works. I will compare them like blood sucking mosquitoes. They wait until the summer is around the corner. They don't pick up the phone, and when you get them on the phone they tell you that they are loaded with work , and the next appointment for an estimate will be after 3 weeks to 2 month. And when you realize that the summer will be long gone by that time you keep calling them abr to get a faster date. And they give it to you and after they come thay hit you with an estimate 5000$ over the market. You think that you don't have other choice and you decide to take their take it or leave it offer. That is where you are wrong. I can show you that wit a little research you can find a very cheap price and great customer service company that will come on time give you a realistic price( much affordable) and will stand by their products. You have companies that are willing to come from Rhode Island and Connecticut, with a better price and great installation experience. I need to add that they do the same scheme in winter also. By the way, I called them for an estimate on april 2023 for mini splits. They came in may and know we are in August and still not an answer from them. I called them 3 times, and the answer I got is that the boss is going to send you an estimate. By that answer, they mean that they are busy and the price is going to be at least 3000 to 5000 more than the market price. And in the end is the statement of take it or leave it, because they can't waste any time with you. What a scheme..... and they call them self a local bussiness. Pls before calling them try to do some research and I guarantee that you will find the same product, better price and more importantly, someone will always pick up your phone. Pls feel free to contact me if you want my experience in more detail. Thank you for your time. This is a reply to the owner: Why is it so important to you, sir, to know who I am ? What's important is that you need to respond to your customers in time, and if you can't, you should let them know. But that is part of your scheme. Then you call them after 3 months and you give them a ridiculous price. A very expensive price. What I'm hoping is that others will read this review and have the time to do some shopping around. And to keep in mind that your prices are 35-40% higher than other companies, and the waiting time is from 1 month to 4 months.

  • Coastal heating installed a ductless mini split on the condo I recently purchased. Apparently they did SUCH a terrible install, that the system is irreparably damaged. I have had 3 other repair companies look at the system and all agree that the install of Mitsubishi mini splits was so terrible that they won’t attempt to repair it. Coastal heating won’t even come look at the system they installed to try to repair it. The system is a total loss and Coastal is the root of the problem. Would NOT recommend getting an install from these people if they won’t stand behind it, and come do future repairs. Unethical. Unprofessional.

  • Outstanding service. A/C went out during a heatwave. This was the ONLY company locally that picked up the phone immediately, looked for the quickest opening, and scheduled it within 1 day. The tech arrived on time, we informed him what we thought was the issue, and he had it fixed and the AC was operating within 20 minutes. The woman who answered the phone showed care, consideration and was extremely helpful, and the tech fixed it super-fast. I would highly recommend this business over all others on the South Shore!

  • I hired Coastal after carefully reviewing a few vendors for Mini Splits and am glad I did. Throughout the process, they were very communicative. One install day they arrived with a large crew who operated like a well-oiled machine. They completed my installed and provided detailed instructions on use. They also provided additional insights on the MassSave rebate process. I would definitely recommend Coastal in the future.

  • Very professional with positive results

  • The actual Tech service was fine, but the customer service, not so much. Our tenant called in for service without my authorization, but Coastal charged me instead of the tenant. Not to mention, this was just for them to come turn a dial or two on the heater! I communicated through email with them asking if they could waive this...and what an attitude! It may be hard to tell tone in an email, but I think the words here speak for themselves. Then, I asked for them to send the bill to the tenant directly and they said "I’m sorry that will not happen. We don’t get involved in relationships between tenants and landlords." And "I’m just curious, if she called you first and said she had a problem wouldn't you have called us to go over there? I am assuming the answer is yes. So the result in the end would’ve been the same. You would have had to pay for the service call." Well sure we may have still needed some help with the heat, but maybe I would have started by reading the instructions manual or do research and help the tenant turn some dials myself. I gave them a version of this and told them to not assume, to which I got a response saying "I’m sure that would have worked out great." Honestly, I don't think I should have to pay for this since it's like someone is spending my money without my permission, but they'll get away with it this time. Instead of spending time thinking up such ~witty~ remarks like "We are not a property management company," they should spend their time working on their customer service skills (seems like a recurring issue based on other reviews) and sprucing up their policies to maintain their company's customer relationships. Oh and maybe not charge the wrong party or simply get authorization from whoever is paying before the service happens. Seems pretty straight forward. There will always be disgruntled customers, but this isn't how you should treat them. With that said though, they are quick to reply and quick to get a tech out!

  • Our Water Heater broke and flooded our laundry room floor. I called then and the next thing they were here with a new water heater, installed it and took the broken water heater away. Best plumbers by far. Vicki from Malden, MA.

  • Called for service after National Grid recommended a furnace gas valve repair through an HVAC specialist. Woman on the phone was awful—didn't believe me when I told her we had a gas furnace (presumably because I said "um" while I was looking at my calendar for a service time), and then when I told her the problem, she said, "And how are we supposed to fix that?" Dude, if you don't know, I don't want you messing with my furnace, anyway. Laughably unprofessional. "30 years in business," huh? Maybe she's new.

  • One word: DON'T!!!!!!! Techns very nice. Owner surly. Charge for return visits to check inquiries. Install expensive equipment w/o inquity, Charge return check, don't fix. Home cold. Senior; disabled combat vet. Once recommended VERY highly b/c techs so nice. VERY disappointed now. Wonder if this is how they like their "family" treated esp seniors.

  • We used Coastal to install whole-home heat pumps. They were responsive, competitively priced, and transparent throughout the process. The staff were patient as we went through design and back-and-forth with Mass Save. The install was efficient and fast--the whole house was done in a day. Unlike other heat pump companies that have ridiculous pricing for uncertain quality, Coastal does the job and follows up throughout the process. At the end of the day we're very happy with our new system and with Coastal. Highly recommended.

  • Our air conditioning failed during last summers heat wave and I had difficulty getting someone to look at our problem until I contacted Coastal Air. The technician arrived the following day and had the a/c repaired in less than 2 hours. We have had multiple problems with our systems that are more 30 years old. We decided it was time to replace 30-year-old gas furnace and a/c systems with a high efficiency one. After reviewing 3 companies to do the work we decided on Coastal. I received a detailed proposal from Michael the owner that included what type of units to be installed with the efficiency ratings for each and a narrative explaining the installation of the units. Michael also followed up with a phone call to be sure I understood the proposal and asked if I had any questions. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the final cost to replace both systems was considerably less than the other companies I contacted. The entire job of removing furnace, a/c coils, a/c condenser and replacing them with a high efficiency system was completed in 1 day. I was in the HVAC installation business years ago and I thought I was good, but I couldn't compare to the incredible efficiency of these guys. I give all the credit to Michael, the owner who runs this business with the attitude that customer satisfaction is the number 1 priority to him. We not only saved a considerable amount of money compared to the other companies we contacted, but had the best equipment installed without any disruptions to our household. We are more than satisfied with Coastal and you will be too. It was a pleasure to finally deal with a company who prides itself on customer satisfaction at a reasonable price. Well done, Michael. You should be proud of the business you have created.

  • I recently contracted with Coastal Heating Air Conditioning and Plumbing to replace three (3) large air conditioning condensers and their corresponding air handlers at my home--by all accounts a decent sized job. I was advised that seven (7) service persons would be arriving to perform the work on the scheduled date of installation. They began arriving at 9am. You would think, given the number of people performing the work in a single family house, that they would be tripping over each other and stuff would be getting messed up. However, they all worked orderly together, were efficient, communicated with me throughout the day and left no mess to clean up or damage. They had everything swapped out and up and running at a little past 3pm--the same day. I recommend them.
