Andrew called when enroute to our home. Was respectful of our home and very courteous. He fully explained his diagnosis of our central A/C unit tracing the issue to a blown capacitor. He did not attempt to upsell new HVAC equipment (ours is 14 years old) and promply made the part replacement and tested the system. Very satisfied with his prompt 1 hr service and reasonable pricing.

Ben B was back today to do routine regular spring maintenance on one of our two HVAC systems. Yes, they’re a bit late in the season, but he did another great job and spent time flushing both our outdoor condensers. One had not been flushed for a long time, and it showed. It’s important to flush those each spring so they run more efficiently, and hopefully, improve its service lifetime. Ben was more willing to spend the time flushing the two units than previous other techs and I appreciate it. He also ran diagnostics on our Trane unit and all checked-out.

They installed the original system 15 years ago and have been doing annual maintenance. The temp gain across the heat exchanger is above spec (which I agree with) but they can’t produce what is was the previous years. They are owned by private equity now so all they want to do is sell you a new system. Alex came to quote a new system but could not answer basic questions and promised to send a senior technician with lots of promises about how they were going to get to the bottom of the problem that the annual checkup appointment that I already paid over $200 for should have figured out. That was probably 6 weeks ago and nothing. So guess I got ghosted as a customer. At least he could have told me he didn’t want to do business anymore so I could have saved a wasted appointment with a salesman who clearly doesn’t understand the product he is selling beyond “your system is old and needs to be replaced”.
