  • Installed faulty equipment and refuses to fix it. Unprofessional technicians. I’ve spent days off work and 2 weeks of trying to get this rectified to no avail. Would never recommend this company. If only I could attach a video to show how they left my unit!

  • I would give A‑US Air zero stars if I could. My home warranty company sent them to fix my air conditioning, and it turned out to be the worst service experience I have ever had. They completely mishandled my claim, leaving me without air conditioning for 26 days. The technician came out on 9/11 and told me they would repair the unit on 9/14 because they didn’t have the part on the truck and needed to order it. On 9/15, I still hadn’t heard anything, so I reached out to the technician for an update. He told me the part still hadn’t arrived and that the new date would be 9/21. I asked why they didn’t install the temporary part he mentioned that could cool my home, and he said it would void my warranty—fine, I didn’t want that. After 9/21 came and went, they told me they still didn’t have the part and finally admitted it was on backorder. At that point, I called Lennox (the manufacturer) because it was 100 degrees in Texas and something needed to be done. Lennox told me that if the part was on backorder, they could provide the contractor with alternative parts to get my unit running. I called A‑US Air back and asked them to contact Lennox. I spoke with Jayme, who was extremely rude and spent the entire call telling me what she couldn’t do. She even said, verbatim, “This is what happens when you have a home warranty.” At that point I was furious, so I contacted my home warranty company. They tried reaching out and were told the part would arrive on 9/28. On the night of 9/28, the technician texted me saying I was scheduled for 9/29 between 2–5 PM. He never called, never showed. I texted and called—no response. I finally reached someone at the front desk who told me the part still hadn’t arrived. At this point, I called a local A/C company. Their technician came out, found the part locally, gave me a PO number, and told me to give it to A‑US Air so they could pick it up—because clearly they needed help doing their job. Brian from customer service finally called me on 9/30. At first, he seemed helpful—he actually made calls to Lennox and returned my messages, something his colleagues refused to do. But then he lost me completely: A) He told me Lennox said there was no alternative part available. B) He told me the part the local A/C tech found wouldn’t work because it was “preprogrammed,” yet the part A‑US Air ordered was also preprogrammed. C) After learning I was willing to pay for an emergency part, he recommended a third‑party part that would “void” my warranty—because he knew it would work. That was it. I called my home warranty company and demanded a different contractor. Thankfully, they sent a new company, and they had my A/C running within two business days. And here’s the kicker: when the new company called Lennox to order the supposedly “backordered” part, Lennox said there was no open claim on my unit and shipped the part next day. I am beyond frustrated with A‑US Air. The fact that they let my claim sit open for nearly a month and never properly ordered the part is unbelievable. Do not allow this company into your home. If your home warranty assigns them, request literally anyone else.

  • I Absolutely do not recommend this business. Took days to arrive. SCAM! This is after I went through my Home Warranty policy. AHS. I would not be surprised if they were aware of the situation. They gave me a long list of things that needed parts and labor. Up to $7,000 ! I was ready to pay but a friend encouraged me to get a second opinion. Turns out the outside unit was turned off and NOTHING was wrong with my system. Don't use them.

  • The scheduling process is not efficient. there is no flexibility with the technician. communication is very poor and it seems like a very dishonest company. I was concerned of a leak and low freon. The tech told me he didn't even bother checking pressures because it looked fine to him. When i called to request that he at least check the pressures of our HVAC he told me he wasn't going to drive back from his home even though I saw him sitting in his car in our driveway through our cameras. He was in and out within 10minutes. I even asked for a full report of my visit with the findings and what was done exactly and still waiting. not worth using this company with AHS. save your money and find another company. Not much quality in their work or much consideration of the customer in my opinion.

  • This company doesn't know how to fix units. They attempted to bandaid my unit, they kept saying it's cooling when the house was 90-94 degrees. All they wanted to do was try and sell me a new unit rather than work with my warranty company. This company does the bare minimum to get by. When you call w questions you don't get answers you get the run around. When my warranty company requested them to come out for a follow up they have refused. When you try to get your service reports they refuse and do not give you anything. HORRIBLE COMPANY DO NOT USE! I'd give 0 stars but it won't let me.

  • American Home Shield is a complete scam. And A-US Air Conditioning does awful work. Literally, do not use this company. We had a leak in our AC unit. We had two different companies come out that both said the same thing: the system needs to be replaced due to issues with a coil, etc. I remembered we had the home warranty with AHS, so we decided to go through them. BIG MISTAKE. A tech from A-US Air came out and told me nothing was wrong with our system and we just need to do routine maintenance. Of course, this was not true. The issues continued. We called AHS and they sent out another technician who found that our system in the attic needed to be replaced. We get an estimated bill of close to 3K despite this being "covered" under our warranty. A-US Air comes out to replace our attic unit. Before they even began the work, I received a call from A-US Air requesting payment. The woman explained they require payment before the work is completed. The invoice was approx $2,800. The next day our AC is not working. It is not cooling. It actually was working WORSE than before. I call AHS AGAIN. They send out another technician from A-US Air (the same tech who told us nothing was wrong with our system in the first place). He said it just needed more freon and that now it should be working fine. Shocker. It is not working. Actually, our AC stopped working altogether. We live in Texas and it is still 90 degrees. The tech that came out today said we need a new control board and that could take 7-10 days to get the parts. I called A-US Air and they basically said sorry, nothing we can do but wait for the part. Truly unacceptable. Do not use this company.

  • I would not recommend A‑US Air Conditioning of Texas. They failed to properly diagnose my central AC problem, gave a false diagnostic, and took far too long to respond. The delay and incorrect information wasted time and money, and my system still wasn’t fixed. I had another technician confirm their diagnosis was wrong. Very disappointing experience.

  • I am extremely disappointed with the service my son has received from A-US Air Conditioning of Texas through American Home Shield. My son has been dealing with an AC leak that is causing water to leak from his ceiling. This is now the THIRD time a technician has been sent to his home for the same issue, and the problem still has not been properly resolved. A technician came out this morning, September 22, and shortly after he left, the AC started leaking and dripping from the ceiling again. We immediately contacted the company to let them know the problem was still occurring, only to be told that we needed to contact American Home Shield and request another work order. That makes absolutely no sense to me. The technician had just left the home, and the same problem he was supposed to repair was still happening. Why should another work order be required when the original repair was clearly not completed successfully? After three service visits for the same problem, I am very concerned about the quality of the work and the lack of accountability. My son should not have to continue dealing with water leaking from his ceiling because an AC issue has not been properly diagnosed and repaired. This has been a very frustrating experience, and I would not recommend A-US Air Conditioning of Texas based on the service we have received.

  • Avoid at all costs. It has been 10 days and 4 techs later and my AC unit is still not fixed. No communication. When you call they don’t have any idea of what is going on. Just terrible overall.

    Eduardo Z.

  • I would not even give this company a zero. The technician came to our home through American home shield only to put in Freon in our air conditioner. We have 10 cameras around the outside of our house. Our outdoor cameras record him stating to us that our air conditioner need only Freon. The camera also record him stating that he would come back the next day and put in the Freon because it is a holiday Labor Day and the office was closed. Two days later we found out that he submitted a Fraudulent claim to American Home Shield stating that our head gasket and coil need to be replaced and never mentioned anything about the Freon. I am submitting my video and complaint to the attorney general for fraud. We have free Freon for life through America home shield but this company is fraudulent And they refused to come back to put in the Freon until the gasket and coil was replaced. I spoke to Kenny over the phone who was very rude and disrespectful. I asked several times for the owner to call he and Kenny stated that the owner doesn’t talk to customers. What kind of owner would take your money but doesn’t even take out time to speak with you. Sickening.

  • Paul did a great job. He stuck with it until it was done working right. Showed up on Labor Day, ran back on his own time to make an adjustment, always returned texts even when out with personal needs, and overall did a great job. Paul made A-US Air look really good for a company that might be just another HVAC company otherwise.

  • UPDATE 2: We got a second opinion, and it turns out we did NOT need the replacement A-US Air said we needed. The second technician tightened one component and added refrigerant. We have had zero issues since. This makes the entire experience even more concerning. A-US Air diagnosed two leaks, said the indoor head needed replacement, and submitted a report to American Home Shield stating the failure was “due to” the installation location. AHS then denied our claim based on that diagnosis. Yet when I questioned it, A-US Air acknowledged they could not definitively say what caused the leak and still refused to clarify their report with AHS. UPDATE: After A-US Air publicly responded to this review asking me to call so they could help, I did. Nothing changed. The representative again acknowledged they could not definitively say airflow caused the leak but refused to contact AHS to clarify the diagnosis. He also told me the “supervisor” I previously dealt with was actually a scheduler who wasn’t familiar with the technical aspects of the claim. Our problems started before the service call. Our original technician had a family emergency, then texted the next morning saying he was available to come. The office repeatedly told me that was impossible, despite me having his texts. He was later removed from the job, and we waited several more days without AC during 100+ degree Texas weather. The technician who eventually came was courteous, but the experience with management was completely different. After AHS denied our claim, I asked A-US Air to clarify that the cause of the failure was not definitive. AHS confirmed the contractor could contact their Authorization Department to clarify the diagnosis, but A-US Air refused. I was never asking anyone to change the facts. I wanted the report to accurately reflect what they themselves acknowledged: the cause was uncertain. After everything they said needed to be repaired or replaced, a second company made a minor adjustment, added refrigerant, and the system has worked without issue since. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend A-US Air.

  • June 12 was my first call in to American Home Shield and I was assigned to work with A-US Air. Techs have been great to work with but calls to the office or "back office" have been a miserable experience. It is August 31 and still waiting on a resolution for my AC. Replaced a compressor, costing me hundreds, to be told it's an electrical problem. So why did I just pay for a compressor? AHS and A-US Air continue passing the buck while my family and I (80 y.o. mom and disabled vet husband) try to stay cool in one room with a small window unit ---since JUNE!!! Where's your integrity? Do better. 9/1/2026: To A-US Air, your copy+paste reply is as useless as all the attempts I've already made to reach someone at your company that can help me.

    Veronica G.

  • Do not, I repeat DO NOT allow this company to touch your unit. They work with American Home Shield to steal money from you then hang up after not fixing a GD thing. Its been since June and our AC is still not working. Im a disabled Vet with my 80 year old mom living with me and NO ac. Jesse promised to send the report to AHS, He still has not sent the report to AHS, after 3 requests by them, and a verbal promise to my wife over the phone. Now when we call we just get hung up on.

  • PLEASE LISTEN TO ME - DO NOT CALL THEM, EVEN IN AN EMERGENCY IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE. They cancelled my emergency appointment 2 minutes before they were supposed to arrive and didn't reschedule for 2 more days despite being in over 100 degree heat The only people you can speak to in their "Customer service" are offshore and are absolutely no help.

    Garrett G.

  • I waited at home all day for the technician to arrive, and the service call was never completed. I explicitly requested multiple times that the technician call me before entering the property. The service center was aware of this requirement. However, the technician did not call me prior to arrival. My security cameras show that he entered the property, then left shortly afterward without contacting me, and the service issue was not attended to. This is extremely frustrating, as I wasted an entire day waiting for an appointment that was effectively missed. I need this escalated and rescheduled as soon as possible, with clear instructions that the technician must call me before arriving and before leaving the property. Upgraded to 4 stars as the technicians are good and they do a good job - communication could still use improvement.

  • Two days without AC during the hottest days of the year was unbearable. Jordan came and saved the day. Was fixed in no time. Thank you! I highly recommend this company.

  • You’d have a better outcome if you did it yourself. Installed through my home warranty. Had issues from the start of the heating not working properly. Then it would randomly stop blowing cold air, a tech from the company came out at told me he didn’t know what’s wrong and to take a picture of the error code next time it happened. Now during the middle of summer it’s frozen up and they won’t come out unless they get another service request from the home warranty. Again just watch YouTube and do it yourself if this is your only option.

  • I can’t speak for their DFW branch, but the Austin area of this company is the worst company I have ever interacted with. We had them dispatched through American Home Shield and were not allowed to switch companies. We’ve had issues with our ACs performance for over 30 days now, and techs from this company have been out 6 times to our location, each time implementing a ‘fix’ which we have to call them back the day after to inform them didn’t work. It would be one thing and more honorable if they told us that they honestly didn’t know what was wrong with the unit. But that’s not the case, they come out each time and claim there’s a new issue with it, which tells me either they’re lying about problems, or the previous tech didn’t catch the same issues the previous 5 times. This includes on THREE separate occasions of those six that the techs said our problem was that the AC coils were dirty and the tech cleaned them. So, either the coils get dirty on a weekly basis, the techs do a poor job at cleaning the coils, or that’s just a lie they tell to make up a problem. I’m inclined to believe the lying portion because on one occasion the company legitimately lied and closed out our ticket saying that they had come on a Saturday and serviced the air conditioner. No one came. We never had an appointment scheduled for Saturday. Both of us were home all day and we have ring and ADT footage around the house. No one came. But the company closed out our ticket with American Home Shield (AHS) and said that the service was over. Which was also another recurring problem. This company is horrible with communication. On several occasions we constantly had to call them and ask for an update with them never calling us to let us know what was going on. For example, closing out the ticket without letting us know, and another time there was about a week period where we were waiting on a diagnostic report to come back to let us know what the issue was. We had to call them to even find out that that’s what they were waiting on and when they did find out the issue, we had to call them again to see what it was. They never reached out to us to give us an update at any point in time during the process. And when they have come out, they typically provide anywhere from a 90 minute to a four hour window and at least half if not more of the occasions they still show up late. This last visit after today, the tech suggested that we simply set our thermostat at a higher level to match the heat and make it a part of a daily routine to go outside and spray our AC unit down with water. That was after he cleaned the coils for the third time saying that they were dirty. Here’s a list, in order of what this company came out and told us was wrong with the unit, saying that they fixed it every time: 1. Dirty coils, they cleaned them 2. Didn’t know, so sent a diagnostic report off 3. Diagnostic report said it was bad compressor, replaced that 4. Still not working, called them back out, said techs who installed compressor didn’t put enough coolant in during install, refilled coolant 5. Still not working, came out and said coils were dirty again, so they cleaned them again 6. Still not working, now tech says that the techs who installed compressor didn’t remove the old capacitor when they installed the compressor, so remove that. Also the coils are dirty for the third time in a month, so those get cleaned again. And here we are after 6 visits, $310 energy bill, a lie to our dispatch company and likely a couple to our face, and still with an underperforming unit. Like I said, it’d be one thing if they just didn’t know, but they do ‘know’. They ‘know’ every time when they come out what the problem is and say they fixed it and always fail. Now they’ve essentially given up, saying just set the thermostat higher and go outside and spray my unit down daily. I cannot give enough warning to any potential customers, stay away. They are the reason we’re terminating our AHS contract. Genuinely the worst experience I’ve ever had with a company.

    Lex M.

  • Terrible service. All the 1 star reviews are absolutely right. We had this same Experience. Luckily we did not go through them. The first visit alone with their technician was enough for us to say NO WAY!

  • Very disappointed with the company office. The lady who answers the phone is disrespectful and condescending. I have tried calling the office multiple times, the receptionist refuses to transfer me to a supervisor or owner. She refuses to schedule appointments or speak with me unless I am a previous customer. She has deliberately hung up the phone on me 2 times now.

    Connor W.

  • We had a terrible experience with this company. For the past 3 days our AC has been worked on. On the 3rd day, the technician came out and after a couple of hours I noticed that he was replacing a box for a unit that was not broken. The technician then admitted that he had been working on the wrong unit. When he left, the unit that had not been broken is now not blowing cold air. When we tried to get this corrected, we were told that the technician said that he didn't do anything to that unit. When we asked to speak with a supervisor, we were hung up on twice. We have already paid $1600 for repairs only to have our concerns ignored. We will never use this company again and have already escalated our complaint.

  • 3-star on scheduling- because the office will book you a day- but not a time. The technician will then text you sometime from 7-9:30ish pm the day before the time slot they have for you. I had to reschedule three different times and each time they only gave me one time slot during the day, they wouldn’t offer other times slots. HOWEVER- 5 starts to my technician Kameron was AWESOME, super knowledgeable and down to earth. He assessed everything, gave some great tips for general upkeep and was in and out just as fast as he got there! I’m not sure if you can request technicians but if you can you need to request Kameron.

  • I don’t need an air-conditioning company right now, but judging by the way this truck was driving. I’m probably not going to call them in fear they might cause a wreck on the way. This truck was going 90 on 35 from new Braunfels to San Antonio, tailgating people, and cutting people off.

    joseph B.

  • Horrible service. They came to fix my HVAC but broke the thermostat instead. They kept delaying replacing the thermostat. They ended up taking the money and not fixing the issue.

    Ujjyini R.

  • I should’ve read the reviews and recommend everybody else reading the reviews. The 1 stars are valid. We use vendors often for our rentals, and always on the lookout for a excellent service with fair pricing. The 89.00 is a bait and switch tactic. They came out this morning to the unit found a clogged drain line and said with could be 225.00 to blow it out. No parts no major problems. Most legit/fair priced companies would have done the work for the 89.00 service fee. If they wont blow a line out for 89.00 dollars what will this fee cover? The answer is nothing. They most likely do this on every job.

    Donald J.

  • DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! complete scam from the service call charge to the false reports! This company will tell you one thing is wrong then try to sell you an entire new unit under the table!! Avoid shady business will be reporting to BBB & seeking legal action! Brian the shady phone operator and Daniel the shady technician!!

  • TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! My tenant reported that her A/C was not working, so I contacted A-Us Air Conditioning and they sent a technician to the property. After the service call, I called to get an update and find out what the technician diagnosed. Instead of simply being told what was wrong with the unit, I was informed that I would have to wait up to 48 hours for a report to be sent out. Meanwhile, my tenant is sitting in a hot house waiting for answers. As a property owner and business owner myself, I explained to the representative that this seemed like a very unusual and inefficient process, especially when dealing with something as time-sensitive as a broken A/C in Texas. Instead of showing any concern or professionalism, the representative laughed while I was explaining my frustration. That was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. If a technician has already been to the property and diagnosed the issue, I should at minimum be able to receive a basic update on what was found without waiting 48 hours while my tenant suffers in the heat. The entire experience felt like a joke. I would not recommend this company based on the customer service and communication I received.

  • I hired this company for an HVAC diagnostic after experiencing repeated Nest interruptions. I paid the $90 diagnostic fee, and the technician came out, inspected the system, and told me that everything looked fine. During the visit, the technician took photos of several areas inside and outside the system that they said needed cleaning. They quoted me approximately $600 for the cleaning, which I declined because I planned to do it myself. I was told the photos, along with a report of findings, would be emailed to me after the visit. The report never came. I called less than a week later and was told it would be emailed within 24–48 hours. It never came. I called again and received the same response. We even had my husband call and provide a different email address in case there was an issue with delivery. Again, nothing. At this point, they have stopped answering my calls altogether. I understand that things can get lost or overlooked, but after multiple calls and multiple promises to send the information, simply not responding is extremely disappointing. If they had told me they lost the photos and needed to come back out to retake them, I would have understood. Instead, I’ve received neither the documentation I was promised nor any communication. I paid for a diagnostic and expected to receive the findings that were promised to me. Based on this experience, I would not use this company again.

    Anne G.

  • Extremely frustrating experience. The technician arrived an hour and a half after the scheduled service window and spent about 20 minutes looking at the issue before leaving to get a part. He never returned. The part he needed was a basic relay that was readily available at local hardware stores, so we were shocked that he simply left and then became completely unreachable. He did not answer the phone or return our calls for the rest of the day. Meanwhile, our house was still at 90 degrees, leaving us without a working AC system for the rest of the day, the night, and the following day. When we called the company for help and asked for a solution, we were told there was nothing documented in the technician’s notes, and they refused to provide any meaningful assistance. At no point did anyone take responsibility for the situation or make any effort to get someone back out to our home. It is incredibly frustrating to be left sitting in a 90-degree house all day AFTER paying for a service, only to have the technician disappear and the company refuse to help. This was an unacceptable experience from both the technician and the company.
