• We have a silver maintenance contract for our heat pump HVAC system and last week was our scheduled fall inspection visit. Our tech Fernando once again did a great job of inspecting every nook and cranny of our system, but try as he might, he couldn't find anything worrying to report. Everything was in great shape and we're ready to get through the next winter and into next spring. • Air Care was recommended to me by a family member who had used them, and I’m so happy I found them. We hired them to replace our outdated and inefficient gas furnace and AC compressor with a new heat pump and air handler system, including all new ducting. From initial consult to final installation, everything was incredibly smooth. Roberto visited our home to discuss options, did a thorough Manual J calculation to determine the exact heating and cooling load to size our system appropriately, and was incredibly patient answering multiple rounds of questions we had about the system. Adolph and Chris were our install team and were wonderful. We’ve had to do a lot of work to our home with a lot of different trades, and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever had tradespeople be so mindful of our home. The communication was clear, from what time they would be starting and ending, to exactly what work was done each day and questions along the way. They kept our home clean, tried to stay quiet during kids’ naps, were so caring around our dog, and were just overall incredibly respectful and kind. • My AC conked out 2 months ago and it was in the middle of summer and we were suffering. I live at a place where we have HOA and rules. First Step: Roberto came did a thorough investigation with his tools and told me - you have a 2.5 ton system and you do not need a 2.5 ton - my readings say you need a 2 ton system. Earlier that day another comany came by and without doing any measurements told me you will need a 3 ton system Second Step:Victoria worked with my HOA to get the approval Third Step: Victoria worked with San Jose City to pull the permit Fourth Step: Roberto got me a 0% loan 18 month loan as well Fifth Step: Adolph and Chris worked 2 full straight days and replaced the HVAC system. They were super professional, caring towards my aging dogs, cleaned up both days. The work was A+ They know their $hit Sixth Step: An independent company came to check the work and they used measuring tools etc. And gave a thumbs up. We live in a multi storied town home so there is a sensor on the first floor as well. My wife and I have notice - the air conditioning is not in your face any more - earlier it was too much. Now it is subtle and very comfortable. We have gratitude for Adolph, Chris, Roberto and Victoria for making this an amazing experience. • Eric was extremely competent and thoughtful. Our HVAC system was leaking water on the garage floor and ruining some boxes we had stored there. He figured out that the drain pipe was overloaded because it shared the drainpipe with our water heater. He offered 3 solutions, but the most cost effective one was to install a demand pump to assist draining the condensate from the HVAC and any overflow from the water heater through the drainpipe. He kept us apprised of his progress and any delays.

• A lot that was excellent, with several little details that took the rating down a bit. We replaced our 30-year old furnace with a heat pump system. The advisor we worked with, Roberto, was great; actually did a Man-J load calculation with lidar measurements to determine the true system we needed. We were picky about having everything in the contract and Air Care was the only company that put the details in the quote. Warranty was good (not the best, but good), and their maintenance plan is good (not the best, but good). Great financing, and unlike a couple other supposedly highly rated companies did understand that not all thermostats work with variable heat pump systems. Adrian and Chris did the installation and were friendly, kept us informed, on time, and did a very good job – with a couple exceptions. Namely, need to read the contract (wrong filter grade ordered, tried to change the return size), the vents are supposed to fit a 4x14 vent cover but they are a bit small (AirCare is coming out to fix them), forgot to turn the water heater back on one evening, left the attic insulation pulled up, left wood scraps in the crawlspace (termites!), and since they finished late on Friday, did not completely walk us through the thermostat set up (which we figured out later). The office scheduling was pleasant, kept us informed of when people were arriving – but did charge us for the free maintenance and we had to catch that and have it reversed. None of these small items should prevent you from using them, and we do recommend using Air Care, just watch all the details as with any company.
