• When I contacted ALPS Heating and Air Conditioning to request a technician to call me regarding the replacement of my hot water heater and my furnace, my call was handled very courteously and promptly. I was told a technician would call that day and I received a call later that afternoon. Allen was very friendly and informative on the call, and he offered to come to my home to check everything out so that he could give me a firm quote for the work I needed to have done. Allen was booked with appointments two days out, but said he would call me the next day and come to my home if time permitted between two of his other appointments. True to his word, Allen called and arrived at my home shortly after. He was very thorough in looking at everything that needed to be addressed, he took photos and measurements, and promised to email his quote later that afternoon, which he did. I was very pleased with how professional and responsive Allen was from his initial contact to his follow up there after. I believe this is a high quality company and I would recommend them.

• After a frustrating experience with another HVAC company that was not only unable to fully resolve our air-conditioning problem but also became completely unresponsive despite my repeated attempts to have them follow up, friends recommended Alps Heating & Air Conditioning. The contrast in both service and professionalism could not have been more striking. When the Alps technician arrived, I explained the history of the problem and told him that the previous company had diagnosed a clogged condensation line and had recommended installing a new bypass line after an initial attempt to clear it had failed. Given that history, he quite reasonably began by addressing the condensation line. From the outset, he was professional, thorough, and methodical. He spent approximately two hours carefully flushing the line using nitrogen, water, and vinegar, giving me confidence that any obstruction in the line had been thoroughly cleared. However, even after this thorough flushing, the A/C still would not operate. Rather than continuing to assume that the condensation line was the sole cause of the problem, Alps continued troubleshooting and determined that there was a second, separate issue: the thermostat had also failed. Since I needed to order the particular replacement thermostat I wanted, Alps returned and installed a loaner thermostat so that my wife and I would not be left without air conditioning while we waited for the new one to arrive. Remarkably, they did not charge me for that second visit or for providing and installing the temporary thermostat. When my new thermostat arrived, they came back for a third visit, installed it properly, and charged a very reasonable amount for the work. The system has operated perfectly ever since. What impressed me most was not simply that Alps solved the problem, but how they went about it. They were methodical rather than presumptive, responsive rather than difficult to reach, and genuinely concerned with getting our system operating again without imposing unnecessary expense. Providing and installing a loaner thermostat at no charge was an especially thoughtful gesture and demonstrated a level of customer care that is increasingly difficult to find. As someone with a mechanical engineering background, although no longer practicing, I particularly appreciated the logical and systematic way they approached the diagnosis. There were two problems, not one: a clogged condensation line and a failed thermostat. Alps took the time to identify and properly address both. After three visits, a thorough cleaning of the condensation system, a temporary thermostat to keep us comfortable, and the final installation of our new thermostat, I came away extremely impressed both with their technical competence and with the way they conduct their business. Alps Heating & Air Conditioning has earned my confidence and my future business. I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for an HVAC company that combines technical competence, fairness, responsiveness, and genuine customer service. Five stars, very well deserved.
