• I went through my home warranty because my AC was not cooling properly. This company diagnosed a bad compressor, even though the compressor was less than a year old. They replaced it, but the system still produced only a 14-degree temperature split. When they returned, the technician claimed he measured a split above 19 degrees, but he never checked the temperatures at the air handler or even entered the attic. I also checked delta t the correct way with a NIST graded temp probe right after he left and read 14 degrees split. Without inspecting the evaporator coil, TXV or static pressure, he changed the diagnosis to a “floating restriction” and said the entire unit needed to be replaced. I obtained a second opinion from another licensed HVAC company that I used to work for. They monitored the superheat and subcooling for more than an hour and the temperature split overnight using wireless gauges. The superheat and subcooling were where they should be, while the temperature split remained approximately 14 degrees. I ultimately agreed to replace the unit because the new equipment would be under warranty. However, I was also charged for several items that appear unnecessary or were not performed. I marked the relevant components with a black-light pen beforehand and have before-and-after photographs documenting the work. I was told the amount was only an estimate and that anything not performed would be refunded. The company is now standing by the full charges and refusing to make an adjustment. I gave them an opportunity to resolve this directly, but my next steps are disputing the unsupported charges with my credit-card company and filing a complaint with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. I have documentation for all of this including the app for the temperature gauges showing the delta t for 12 hours and the second opinion.

• They suck they did not do a detailed examination as to why my ac is not working. Plus they lied to the home owner insurance as to y it failed. They told me that they needed to get the compressor but needed owner approval first and then they told one guard a whole different story than they told me, they told one guard that it was my fault due to lack of maintenance. Had another company come out and they explained in detail. It was an electrical failure and the compressor and that my unit it 20yrs old that the type of compressor it needs is not made anymore.

• This company was sent out by my Home Warranty company. My a/c was not working for my first floor, there was no cool air being thrown. The technician arrived on time, spent some time on the outside unit and came back saying that everything is good on the outside and that "XYZ" part was bad and needed replacement. These are hard to reach parts in the attic which the technician did not check out. They just said that they are not covered by warranty and I need to get it fixed independently. I got my own guy who spent hours in the attic (in Arizona summer) and nothing helped. He then checked the pressure and temperature in the outside unit and concluded that the "ABC" part is bad (the outside pipe was 25-35 degrees over expected value, which led to the conclusion). Now, myself and my warranty company are unable to reach APC for almost 4-5 days now. They are not responding and as per the warranty, they have not submitted a diagnosis either. We are without a/c in one floor for a week now. My complaint is the reason given without checking out the so-called defective part and the continuous non-response

• Showed up on time, recognized and temporarily fixed the issue by adding more freon, but nothing was done to address why it was leaking. And of course, the freon quickly leaked out and I had no A/C again, plus we were all now breathing freon (the inside of the house was foggy for days!). I texted Jason directly about this and got no response. I then asked over the phone for a quote on a whole new A/C system. • I had struggled for several years with my Trane 4 ton rooftop unit that would stop cooling but the fan would continue. I had to turn off the unit, wait a few minutes and turn it back on. Then it would cool for hours or days. The unit has been serviced semi annually by professionals but no one could find the problem. Derrick found it and changed the part. • Sketchy company. Won't return any calls or voicemails. I got an ac compressor replaced through the One Guard home warranty and it went out 3 months after. This was in the winter, so it was hardly used. They charged $140 per lb of refrigerant, and now I realize that is way over the average price of $50 per lb. Worst ac experience ever.
