  • Disappointing customer service. They "forgot" to save my appointment in the system, even though, we exchanged some messages and I even wrote "see you on Wednesday, August .., 2026, between 8:00 and 10:00". Unfortunately, this was not the first time that the customer service was this bad, but I thought it was one off, so I would give it a try again. Big mistake!

  • Great service, prompt response and we really appreciated the time Travis took to fully explain our hot water on demand system and the maintenance it requires. He's fantastic!!!

  • I held off writing a review for a long time. Mainly because I wanted to see how various other trades we hired for our renovation did. I can say Butler was by far the least happy we have been with a contractor. Everything started well, we were happy with the quote. When the actual work was done they installed the shower plumbing and the tub on the wrong sides (tub and shower share a wall between). So they had to come back and the fix was to do a hack job with multiple unnecessary 90 degree fittings as the pex had been installed previously. As well the valves were not properly supported with any framing. They were just floating between studs and the plastic pex hangers were holding everything in place. The workers had to go in the ceiling as well and when they were up there they moved the insulation around and never put it back. Due to this being a reno, there was a straight path from the house, through the ceiling into the attic. This was in the winter and we had warm air from the house funneling up into the attic which caused condensation, ice build up and damaged the roof sheathing and shingles. I complained about this and was told they moved the insulation because it was too close to the furnace exhaust.... Interesting because I didn't realize I hired a plumbing company to do the insulation. I also had to ask for my old copper pipes because the workers took them at first. I explained the value of copper and they were annoyed they had to give it back/carry it back in from their van. Yes, I understand they take away garbage. But an older house that is all copper plumbing has a nice dollar value at metal recyclers. Finally, we ordered fixtures through them and it took months for the items to arrive. We were OK with that as covid has really messed with logistics. However, we were short one item and it was just another annoyance to finally get it. All of these issues were brought up with Butler directly. Unfortunately this company falls into the category of: been paid, don't care. I would not recommend Butler from our experience. The price, the quality of work and the lack of care were terrible. Updated: getting tile work quoted and we have been informed that Butler never installed the tub properly. The back side of the tub was installed with a 3/4" gap to the framing and now we have to address that. Absolutely sub standard work from this company. Updated again: This is the worst plumbing company in Edmonton. We had them do work for our reno a few years ago. Issues with them incorrectly installing shower valves. They returned and re did the work. It was a hack fix with multiple crimped joints to fix the issue. Now, I find where they tied into the main stack is leaking. Luckily it is at a joint in our laundry room that was visible. If this was behind a wall or ceiling it would have caused some serious damage. It's obvious the person doing the work didn't use enough ABS cement. I can see the dried areas and where there excess and where there is none or a lack of it resulting in a leak eventually. The photo of the laundry basket is water, pure luck it was sitting below the leak to catch most of it.

  • My furnace stopped working Monday. Tuesday morning I called Butler. Travis had a mid afternoon cancelation and, luckily, I was at the top of the list. Travis quickly diagnosed, and repaired the issue. We have a warm house, again.

  • Top-notch plumbing service! Fast response, professional staff, and great workmanship. They handled my emergency plumbing issue with ease and made sure everything was fixed right the first time. Excellent experience overall!

  • Chad was incredibly helpful and timely in both response and assistance when we had our furnace unexpectedly die on a Sunday evening. He helped to walk me through what could potentially be occurring and ensured we got a replacement part and a solution incredibly quickly. 10/10 would recommend Chad and Butler again.

  • A+ service. We have used Butler twice now, once for a new water heater and recently for a furnace service and inspection. Each time the technicians treated us politely, were on time and worked efficiently. They also pointed out deficiencies that could use attention, but were not pushy in anyway. They will be our go to guys for anything plumbing and heating!

  • Thanks to Chad and Michael for coming out and fixing my problem with abs pipe being disconnected from the main drain stack. Punctual, professional and polite. Knew exactly what the issue was and how to fix it. This company came highly recommended from a friend and they did not disappoint.

  • I had a few issues with my furnace and AC. Travis was amazing. He walked me through everything, fixed a gas, electrical and AC problem. He very easily could have run up the bill and sold me stuff I didn't need. He is as honest as could be. Amazing tech and person. Excellent company. I will recommend him and them to everyone I can. I couldn't be more pleased !!

  • I have used many plumbers while renovating this old house and Butler have done great work at fair price. They have excelled at dealing with quirks of an old home with decades of bad decisions in it and have done so quickly and cleanly. They have excellent communication. We have worked with them on moving plumbing from an uncontrolled crawlspace to inside the wall, as well as installing multiple cutoffs throughout the house. We have also used them on installing an on Demand water heater through the Edmonton CEIP program which will be in an update as it is not yet complete, but going well (waiting on permit inspection). Will happily use again on future renovations

  • I've dealt with Butler Plumping on a few occasions but they recently sent out a man by name of Loel (hope I spelt that right) and this guy is by far the best plumber they have sent out. Extremely kind and knowledgeable. Quick and efficient as well. Fixed the rats nest drain under the kitchen sink that no one else wanted to touch and pinpointed where the sewage smell was coming in. Had everything rectified in no time. I highly recommend

  • They sent someone clearly not competent to diagnose the issue when we had an internal plumbing issue. That person created a huge mess with seven gaping holes in our ceiling. They then sent someone very competent the next day to handle the issue, but refused to take responsibility for the mess created by the first plumber. RESPONSE TO THE OWNER’S COMMENTS: I was hoping he would respond to my review with integrity. Instead the owner wrote, “The exploratory holes were necessary.” He wrote this even though both he and his experienced plumber admitted to me that most of them were unnecessary. When he ended with, “Sorry the holes in your ceiling stressed you out” this came across to me as patronizing. He acknowledged to me that the first plumber didn’t have the experience to do the job. I’m asking him to take responsibility for the mistakes made by his employee. I was led to believe he would do so. I’m disappointed that he’s choosing not to, and instead portraying me as overly sensitive.

  • Loel was very knowledgeable and able to give good guidance and advice on my plumbing issues. Friendly and professional. Would recommend!

  • I needed a new dishwasher replaced and decided to give Butler Plumbing a call. I’m glad I did, as Chris was sent out and he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond my expectations. He took the time to make sure everything was working as expected and looked good as well. I highly recommend Butler Plumbing!

  • I had a great experience with Butler Plumbing. I had a semi-emergency issue where my bathroom was leaking water into the floor below when any draining was occurring - as this was the primary bathroom and the only one with a shower, this was a problem for me and my family. Butler Plumbing was able to get a plumber to me within a few hours of my call, which I appreciated. The plumber, Loel, was excellent and a consummate professional - he took the time to explain things and offer advice along the way. He seemed genuinely concerned with getting the job done and not with racking up the largest bill possible. The hourly labour rate was $130 with a $70 dispatch fee, which seemed fair to me. I would have no problem with using Butler Plumbing again or recommending them to others.

  • Had a sink that was backing up whenever we ran other sinks, washer, dishwasher. Came out within a couple hours, figured out the problem in a couple minutes, and quickly cleared out the drain with an auger. Everything is now working beautifully, and the cost was reasonable. Would definitely use this company again should any other problems come up with our plumbing

  • Butler Plumbing has been phenomenal for our house hold. We hired them a few months ago to fix up various small items that needed some TLC and they were very professional and fairly priced. Then last night I ended up with a matter that needed urgent intervention and I left a message for them at 8 pm. I got a text this morning at 7 am letting me know that they are fitting us in this morning! A few short hours later Chris was leaving my house with everything all sorted out!!!! THANK YOU !!!!

  • This company took advantage of my elderly parents, charging excessively for a repair I then had to have another company complete. They are of course in business to make money, and rightfully so, but based on my experience, dont expect them to see the project through or care beyond maximizing their profit. Definitely get a second quote from someone else if you are contemplating using them.

  • Trevor came to our house to service our water heater, very professional and did a great job at 1/2 price what NTI wanted to do the same job

    tom M.

  • called them monday to get quote for hot water tank , and til thursday they couldn’t give me quote, everyday sending me useless msg, not recommended

    Manjot S.

  • I called Butler Plumbing after finding water dripping through light fixture in the basement, clearly coming from the bathroom upstairs. Travis arrived promptly when he said he would, diagnosed the issue and fixed it. He even cleaned up all the drywall dust before he left which was unnecessary but appreciated. This whole experience made me realize that plumbers are like firefighters. You don't want to have to call them, but are infinitely grateful when they are there for you. Thanks Travis!

  • Fantastic service. Highly recommend!

  • Steve showed up roughly when I was told they would come. I had an issue with my water softener system and Steve had it figured out with an hour. Great service. Would recommend this company

    Gregg C.

  • I used Butler Plumbing a few years ago and was super happy with their service. The other morning I woke up for work and it was chilly in my house. I remembered having used them before and liking my service so I called again. I was greeted by Travis. He was so great to deal with. He immediately knew my name and chatted like we were old friends. He told me he would have someone to my house in between 10-12. A technician was on the way by 9:30 and had my furnace up and running so I could head to work by 10:30! I was so impressed with their friendly and timely service! I would highly recommend them.
