• Update – Spring Service: Rob C. came out this spring to add the Freon to my A/C unit, and once again Craft Heating delivered excellent service. I really appreciate that they noted this step on my winter furnace installation contract and followed through without me even needing to call. • I had a very disappointing experience with Craft Heating and Cooling and feel other customers should be aware. I spent over $6,000 with this company to install a new heating and cooling system, which was still under warranty when my heat stopped working during freezing temperatures and snow. I went several nights without heat before a technician finally came out to diagnose the issue. He determined that the 2nd and 3rd heating elements were not activating. Since I have a heat pump system, all three heating elements should come on when temperatures get very cold. Instead of properly fixing the issue, the technician bypassed several wires and connected them directly to the motor. I was then charged around $200 for the visit. As someone who is disabled and living on a fixed Social Security retirement income, $200 is a lot of money for me, but I paid it because I desperately needed heat in the middle of winter. Shortly after the technician left, my circuit breaker started repeatedly tripping. When I called the company back, instead of correcting the wiring or restoring the system to how it was designed to work, they recommended that I upgrade my circuit breaker to a higher amp. I never had breaker issues before the technician altered the wiring. Because I still had no heat, I had to purchase several space heaters just to keep my small home warm. This caused my electric bill to jump to $776, which is extremely difficult for me to afford. I tried multiple times to speak with a supervisor named Jim. Every time I called, I was told he was either not there or in a class and that my call would be returned. I waited patiently for weeks, called back several times, and still never received a call back. Eventually I had to call another HVAC company to fix the problem. The technician from the other company was shocked at how the wiring had been altered and said the system had been improperly modified. If this is how a company treats a customer who spent over $6,000 on a system and was still under warranty, I cannot recommend them to anyone. After speaking with others, I have heard similar stories, which I wish I had known before choosing this company. I hope sharing my experience helps other consumers make informed decisions. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise people to be cautious before doing business with this company.

• The inducer motor on my old Trane furnace has needed to be replaced for some time, but I kept putting it off and putting it off and putting it off. Until today, when it failed entirely - just in time for all the snow and ice we're supposed to get this weekend. I had zero heat. The furnace was non-operational. The total time from when I picked up my phone to call Craft Heating to when the furnace was back up and running was literally one hour. I don't think any service company can offer better than that. I am positively thrilled with the experience.

• Absolute NIGHTMARE company. They came to replace the motherboard the first time, said everything was working but an hour later we once again had no heat. Then we had to wait on a part for two weeks all while having zero heat and ZERO communication from them. We had to call multiple times to figure out what was going on. Finally they showed back up and swapped a hose into the wrong place after said two weeks. We then had to call them back THREE times within the same day and same hour because they’d look at it, “fix it” leave and it would immediately stop working. Will never be doing business with this company again.

• I normally call crafton heating and cooling since they installed the furnace over 10 years ago. Only problem is thermocupling breaks maybe every 4 to 5 years. And this year it broke again. So I call them at 1am they left message for a technician to call back which they did at 930am said they will be out to look at it. Ok now the probelms start cause when I called them around 3pm i think asking what time will they show up. They say Don is the one who is going to show up but was in Carnegie and he will call 30 mins before he shows up Ok cool. While a guy nick calls and says he will be out in 30 mins he gets here and don't know how to change it ok that's messed up specially when Don was supposed to show up not nick. So nick says Don will be out when he is done with the job he was on. I said Ok. An hour goes by no call. So I call them back the office is closed and was talking to the 24 hour service and they transfered my message to the one on call. And then I remembered I had nicks numbers he called me from so I call him and ask what's going on he says we can come tomorrow at 8am. I was like I'm not up at 8am u guys said u would come out tonight and fix it not my fault u sent the wrong guy. Now with temps going to 12 degrees and only got one radiator heater and 2 animals. So now I have to freeze and wait till tomorrow just to have it fixed when I was told it was supposed to be fixed tonight.now I'll keep calling them for service cause I really don't know another place and it's there product but this sending the wrong guy for the job and then making me we wait in a freezing house with 2 animals is just wrong

• Charged me $350 to replace my water heater expansion tank. They were here 10 minutes and now experiencing problems with pressure to my toilets. Called the company and they indicated they do not deal with toilets. Everything was fine with toilets beforehand so you might think it is related to the install and having the proper pressure? Rip off.
