Great service came out for a AC health check everything is rocking!

Stephan with Double Check Cooling and Heating is the best. We received an outrageous estimate on a “compressor” repair during a routine check up from another much larger company. Since our Trane is only 6 years old we thought it was odd and have had no problems. I called Stephan where he reviewed the estimate, the pictures and then showed up for a check in person on Friday evening. He found no issues and made sure all was in working order. He was professional but more importantly kind and trustworthy. In a time when big business seems to want to gouge the customer, it is nice to find local business heroes!!

That kind of honesty is rare, and it immediately told me he is someone who is trustworthy and who genuinely wants to help me. Unfortunately the AC went out again that night, so I texted him, and he responded right away and had a morning appointment set up for the very next day. He showed up with his son, Elliot, and the two of them were incredibly kind and friendly. They made sure everything was working properly and took the time to explain how to prevent the issue going forward and what to do if it happened again. Communication was excellent throughout, pricing was fair, and the level of care and expertise they brought was outstanding. Stef clearly knows his stuff, and more importantly, he actually wants to help, not just fix things and move on. I have no notes. This was an excellent experience from start to finish. I will absolutely be using Stef for all my future AC needs and recommend him to anyone looking for someone honest, reliable, and skilled.

I can’t recommend DoubleCheck enough. I was expecting a major AC repair bill, but Steven quickly found the real issue instead of trying to sell me repairs I didn’t need. He explained that the air filter we were using was one of the worst choices for proper airflow and recommended the right filter to use instead. He took the time to answer all of my questions, explained everything clearly, and was honest from start to finish. He arrived quickly after I called, was extremely thorough, and genuinely cared about doing the job right. Because of his honesty and professionalism, he saved us a significant amount of money. AC went out on s Saturday afternoon and Stephen came out early Sunday morning and was super helpful. He spent time showing me what caused it and walked me through how he fixed it while he did it. I had an issue with my AC making a squeaking/chirping noise and called Stephen for service. By the time Stephen arrived, the noise had stopped and he explained what could have caused the noise. Most companies would still charge the service fee; however, Stephen chose not to charge me anything even though he drove a significant amount of miles to my house and got caught in traffic as well. I was impressed by his honesty, professionalism, and integrity. He took the time to discuss what might have caused the issue, answered my questions, and never tried to sell me repairs or services that were not needed. It is so refreshing to find someone who values long-term customer relationships over making a quick dollar. Avoid this company ! My husband and I had a AC that wasn't blowing cool air which is usually a bad capacitor. Stephan came over and inspected our unit and stated for about $200, he would give us a high-quality capacitor. In the meanwhile, he installed two smaller capacitors together with electrical tape until he would come back with the high-quality capacitor. So I paid them for the capacitor. A week goes by and no word from Stephen. Another week goes by and I still haven't heard from Stephen. Another week goes by and I texted him and told him I want my money back. He agreed to return my money since he never delivered my part. But he showed up with some of my money. When I asked him where the rest was, he stated he would get me the rest. Well, he never returned, and I never got the rest of my money. I would not recommend this business. Or Stephen.

I am now a customer for life. In mid-June, I had TWO AC units give out. I had four different groups provide bids. All referrals. Prices were outrageous. One group sent two salesmen who sat me down at my kitchen table to present an $80k proposal to replace all FOUR AC units. Stephen pulls up last, takes one look, and says "you don't need 4 new units - you only need one." As we're talking, he pops a new part into one of the dead units and it's instantly back to 100%. "That part is $300". For the other dead unit, he knew exactly what the other guys had quoted and then he beat the price by 30%. The unit was installed the next day and has been working perfectly.

I live in California and the A/C in a rental I have in Scottsdale decided to die right on the 4th of July. Stephen responded really fast and got a new unit in right away. A friend of mine recommended Double Check Cooling and Heating. I called and the owner Stephen Nodzak was able to arrive the very next day . Stephen was professional, knowledgeable and did a great job. I have an older AC system, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. They identified the problem very quickly and solved it by replacing 60+5 run cap and replaced disconnect box. He didn’t try to upsell me, but educated me about what he was doing and why. Stephen informed me of the benefits of a new system, but didn’t push anything. I definitely trust him and will use him as my A/C company in the future. Honest, straight up, friendly.
