  • Gas Man did not install my hot water tank to natural gas code. I found out when my gas meter had to be replaced, and the gas fitter pointed it out. I tried contacting Gas Man to come and complete the repair since they did the install, but I found out that the business is not currently operating. Calls (if you get through), are being forwarded to a third party unrelated to this company.

  • I recently had a disappointing experience with Ben from Gas Man Ottawa regarding a fireplace repair. They initially charged me about $200 for a diagnosis, only to inform me that the gas valve was broken and would need a replacement at a cost of $1,600. The technician claimed that the original Honeywell part was irreparable and suggested supplying a different brand/model. When I asked for specifics about the replacement part to conduct my own research and ensure it wasn't a substandard component, he refused to provide any details and insisted that I simply trust his word. He quoted me $1,100+HST just for the part without providing any details about what would be installed. As a customer, I believe it's my absolute right to know what I'm paying for before signing a contract. Overall, the lack of transparency and the unwillingness to share essential information left me feeling uneasy and frustrated.

  • Got them to come in and inspect our fire place. They said it didn’t work was old and had to be replaced. Then got a second opinion and they said that the wires were unplugged and hidden and that got it to work just fine. These people that came are crooks do not use this business for gas related business. They just wanted us to buy a new fireplace.

  • Called many HVAC service company to have our soon to fail DHW tank replaced. Decided to pick Gas Man (and not the first company that came and tried to repair our tank and gave bad advice for replacement of a gas valve 350$ later) due to advice given and cost of installing the new tank . We supplied our own new DHW tank as per advice to save approx 400$+tax. Even in this crazy busy season due to many calls for furnaces not starting up - this explains about 4 companies not calling back or returning calls or emails; we were able to get the new tank installed in 10 days with Gas Man Ottawa. This is after not being able to get it installed 4 days sooner because the technicians were stuck on a service call that night. Reorganizing and contacting admin in the evening to get a second appointment was really easy and quick. Thanks Ani and Annier!
