  • Prom found clogged drainage pipes. He did a temporary fix while doing our Fall maintenance. Then he came back with a permanent fix that successfully solved the problem at a reasonable cost. I admire that he knew just what to do for a situation that rarely happens.

  • I have used Helms for 20 years now. they originally installed the units in all the homes in our community. I have always found them to be honest and the service person always polite and pleasant. they all are very knowledgeable. I also have 2 a/c units and 2 furnaces and my purchase price reflects my yearly contract that I pay in advance for the year.

  • 2025 and a 2026 UPDATE: I am very happy with my service for my Furnace. After years of dealing with Airtron with mixed results at bet and some big mistakes with my system, it is a pleasure working with Helms. Jhovani C. is an excellent technician and spent time adjusting things and cleaning my furnace. For the first time in four years, I have not any codes pop up and the furnace made it thru the winter without issues. It was not installed or set up properly. I am very happy with Helms and looking forward to having my AC checked in the spring of 2025. UPDATE Jan 2026: Levi and Travis were the techs. They were both great to deal with and understood my past frustrations and listened to my concerns for one of our bedrooms not getting enough heat. They did a Balance Air Flow / and check CFM Output. While it is somewhat better, I plan to contact Helms to redo it or come up with other ideas like add a zone. But I was very happy with the service. They added overflow safety switches and installed an iWave. I asked about UV lights and Levi had two choices (UV and an iWave) and after doing some quick research, I chose the iWave (an air ionization device installed in HVAC systems that cleans indoor air by producing positive and negative ions). Which I am very happy with so far. I highly recommend Helms and Levi and Travis. And I do to anyone I know, especially here in Cresswind Charlotte. UPDATE March 2026: Jamie, the GM, came on March 5, 2026 and did an audit of our Infinity system and found a few errors with AirTron's installation, such as a huge bypass. We decided it should be removed so the techs could adjust settings and try to get my system running more efficient. On March 13, 2026, Greg Smith came and removed the bypass and patched up the holes. All looks good. He spent quite a bit of time reconfiguring settings and testing the dampers. He noted the ducts to the front bedroom/Study area are smaller. But he was able to adjust other dampers to get more airflow to both rooms. Will test it over the next couple of weeks and see if anything else needs to be done. Thank you Greg and Jamie. UPDATE September 2026: My AC stopped working on my Office Carrier Heat Pump. Greg was my tech, again, and he is great to deal with, respectful, nice and very competent. Plus, he has a cool beard. He diagnosed the heat pump, ended up being a blower motor issue. Helms put it on order and it'll get fixed within the next day or so.

  • Helms is the best and Brandon is my guy for repairs. He knew what was wrong within just a few minutes of showing up at my house and the AC was blowing cold just a little while later. Price was very fair, they keep me coming back. My unit is a Carrier.

  • Helms has always been the go-to HVAC expert for me and has earned my trust again and again over the years. If they can fix your problem they will. What they won’t do is try to sell you something you do not need. It is important to have those companies you trust. Helms is one of them. Their entire team is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

  • Our air conditioner went out and they were very prompt in getting to us and explaining our problem. We were given options of repair or replace. Due to age of our unit, we chose to replace. Very prompt at getting replacement and everyone from office staff to installers were very quick in getting us having cool air. Installers were on time, did a great job installing and answering my questions and cleaned up after the install. Would definitely recommend this company.

  • Wow, another great performance by Caleb, my returning service pro, from Helm's HVAC. His second trip to my house was great. Why twice? He and a colleague were performing routine service on my HVAC system but found an issue. He apologized because he was unable to fix the problem since the parts were not in his vehicle (not an emergency mind you), but he would get on it immediately. Well immediately with Helm’s was the next day! There is your first wow!! He performed the work efficiently in between some rain and lighting but got the job done. A side note that needs mentioning. We had some confusion and questions with the initial visit and when I brought it up for clarification, I was contacted by Ariane (Hope I got it right), a very concerned supervisor at Helm’s . She reached out to me the same night and promised a speedy resolution. I got a call the next morning and was completely satisfied with outcome! A second wow! Yes, I strongly recommend Helm’s to anyone in need of a great HVAC service company that puts customers first. You don’t see that very much anymore so thank you!! I appreciate Caleb and the Helm’s team!

  • This was an experience from about a year ago. Our builder used Helms for the HVAC work and installation. When we first moved into the house and used the dryer, we immediately noticed that it was drying *very slowly* and that something seemed wrong. The dryer itself appeared to be working properly - it was spinning and producing heat - so we suspected there was an issue with the exterior vent. When we looked at the vent while the dryer was running, it was barely opening and the airflow appeared very weak. We contacted Helms, but they weren't able to send someone out for a couple of weeks. When the appointment day finally arrived, I stayed home waiting for the technician, but never received a text or any other communication. Toward the end of the scheduled window, I called to ask if someone was still coming. I was then told that the appointment had been mistakenly scheduled for a time when the technician wasn't available. They couldn't reschedule us for another couple of weeks. At the next appointment, a technician finally came out. We explained the situation, and he told us that he couldn't get on the ladder to inspect the exterior vent because a second person would need to be present. He looked at the vent from the ground and said it appeared to be fine because he could see it opening and there was airflow. He then inspected the dryer and told us that the installation of the vent duct was the problem. According to him, it hadn't been shortened properly and had a small leak. He shortened the duct but recommended that whoever originally installed it replace it because of the leak. We tried the dryer again, but there was *no improvement whatsoever*. Our builder was aware of the ongoing issue and said he would have Helms return with two people so they could properly inspect the exterior vent. I'm not entirely sure what happened between the builder and Helms after that, but ultimately the builder's manager came out himself to investigate. He discovered that the exterior vent had been sealed shut with silicone, preventing the air from properly ventilating. I'm not sure whether this was something Helms was responsible for during the original installation, but regardless, it was the actual cause of the problem. Overall, the experience was frustrating. It took weeks to get someone out, the first appointment was scheduled incorrectly, and the eventual diagnosis did not resolve the issue. The problem ended up being something that could have been identified much sooner with a more thorough inspection. (Picture of the silicone from the builder’s manager)

  • I had an old, one unit system replaced by two stae-of-the art systems for a two story home. The entire experience has been exceptional. Samuel expertly guided me through the process and showed genuine patience and concern. Installers Nate and Cam are perfectionists. On-time, courteous and patient with my questions to boot. The installation of the two complete new systems in my home is a work of art.

  • Awesome service as always!

  • Helms is a great company because they have great people like Brandon. He saved me over $300 by showing me how to easily install the replacement part I need. He could have done it himself, charged me, been on his way and I would be none the wiser. He decided to give me the option to do it myself. He even left me a drill bit I needed. He went above and beyond simply for no reason other than he could. This is what good business looks like!

  • Helms Heat and Air is trustworthy and thorough HVAC company. Caleb is an excellent tech and goes above and beyond what is required.

    Bill I.

  • Brandon is always on time, call ahead of time with an eta and explain everything to me what goes on with my system and make suggestions on how to keep it up.
