• My A/C system did not work and the diagnosis indicated that the thermometer broke. However, during the installation of the new thermometer, the technician checked out that the original cause was the wiring and so additional part was required. With the new part, the technician completed the re-installation of the new thermometer and he carefully checked to make sure that both the A/C and furnace are working before the completion of the service. The technician was very patient and skillful.

• HEAT PUMP Comprehensive Review – From Quotation to Receipt of Rebate - Added Item 7 comments July 2026 1. Quotation Stage – Quick and easy to deal with Rick. Price was very good and reasonable. 2. Equipment Installed – Gree 3 Ton Heat Pump to replace my existing aircon. (Furnace is existing). Installed in late July 2023 3. Installing Technicians – Two technicians came on time as scheduled. They are very skillful, efficient, first class workmanship, polite and very friendly. When the job was done, they took the time to explain to me the Ecobee settings and how it works. One small problem is my furnace has 2-stage heating. Since an extra wire was required to control the heat pump, I later found out that one of heating control wire was used to control the heat pump, thus, the furnace could only be configured as a single stage only. I replaced the existing thermostat 6-core cable with an 8-core cable and reconnected the furnace as 2 stage and reconfigured the Ecobee to provide 2-stage auxiliary heating. 4. Performance of Gree Heat Pump – This was installed in the summer of 2023. I have used it for cooling and heating. Very quiet, efficient and works exceptionally well and absolutely no problem at all. 5. 2023 Home Efficiency Rebate Program – The two audits and the application had to be done by the Auditor. Other than following up with the Auditor, there’s nothing you can do. Just got my rebate 7 months after the heat pump was installed - longer than what I expected. Thus my review now when the whole process is completed. 6. Overall Recommendations a. High Efficiency Cooling and Heating – 5 STARS - Highly recommended – very reasonable pricing, quick and friendly communication with Rick, skillful, knowledgeable and first class installing technicians. (Note: My second time using them - they installed the furnace for me about 10 years ago and it is still working perfectly.) b. Gree Heat Pump – 5 STARS - Highly recommended. Very quiet. Provides quick cooling or heating. Nice unit. 7 COMMENTS AFTER 2 YEARS: a. Operation of the Unit - Winter - Work ok, but a lot slower to heat up the house than gas. - Summer - Really nice and good. - Issues - no issues with the unit so far. b. Cost - When you include the basic hydro rate + delivery + all other charges etc., although the heat pump is a lot more efficient, the total cost for heating is actually NOT cheaper to use the heat pump than using gas to heat the house. c. Environmental - Only reason to use the heat pump for heating

• High Efficiency Cooling and Heating was the 4th HVAC company we met with. We were very impressed with Charton’s knowledge and expertise in regards to the Carrier Heat Pump System that we were looking to purchase. He clearly explained how the Greener Homes program worked. We booked with Charton within a day and he arranged to have the Energy Advisor come the next day. Kevin was our Energy Advisor for our pre-audit and he was very thorough and honest. Our installation happened 3 days later. Han and Jason were our installers. They showed up on time and were here all day working on installing the Heat Pump, Furnace, Humidifier, and Thermostat. They cleaned up after themselves and Han was very patient setting up the ecobee thermostat and explaining how it works. Kevin returns in 2 days to do the post audit report and will put the paperwork through for our rebate. The warm air has finally arrived and we are ready for it now. Thank you team! UPDATE - June 18, 2026 Yesterday we had our heat pump serviced by Quinten, under our service membership plan. Quinten showed up during the appointment window and was very pleasant. He explained what he was going to do and let us know the results when he was done. We’re very pleased with all the service we have received from High Efficiency Collins & Heating.
