  • UPDATED REVIEW FROM 2 TO 4 STARS. Read for important details. I hired Solidcare Home Improvement to do attic insulation top-up as part of the Enbridge rebate program. I also requested blow-in insulation for my garage. There was already rigid insulation there. Tat came for the initial assessment and he was very pleasant and helpful. The price was better than the other quote I got so I went with Solidcare. The team showed up on time and did the work. After they left I removed the cut out of the drywall ceiling in the garage and found that only part of the garage had blown in insulation. I called Tat and he promptly sent the team back to finish that job properly, which was much appreciated, but should not have happened. The next day I decided to look at the attic. It was hard to measure the depth of the blown in insulation, but I devised a measuring stick by attaching a rigid wire at 90 degrees to the end of a 10 foot pole. They were supposed to add enough insulation to go from the existing 5 or 6 inches to 19 inches. I found they only added up to about 11 inches. I sent pictures of my measuring stick with the depth marked to them and they sent another more senior technician who completed the job properly. I am giving them a rating of 2 rather than less, even though the initial job was unsatisfactory, because they quickly accepted the poor job done by the first technician and corrected the error. I can't help thinking that most homeowners would not think of or have the ability to check on work like this. I don't like writing bad reviews for anyone, but I believe this company should have better quality control and potential customers should be aware and check carefully on their work. I also noticed there was another reviewer who had a similar experience to mine. EDIT August 2, 2026. Changed from 2 to 4 stars because the company reached out to me, saying the erring tech was let go and they have instituted changes and training to prevent recurrences. I am leaving the original review because a company should not suffer because of potentially one poor employee ( I don't know if that's the case, but will give them the benefit of the doubt), but people should check the work done.

On a hot humid day, their service demands are very high, so the repair guy might come over not as early as you expected, but Mr. Lin provided me a lot of useful information and advice on the phone for electronic filter self-cleaning. Very helpful and appreciated, would definitely recommend to others.

  • The two-members crew was on time per booking. During the duct cleaning process, I can tell their eagerness to perform with care and thoroughness. They asked to make sure all air registers were located. One thing impressed me was: the crew said to me by pointing to the entrance area inside and said that there should be one register there, which I didn’t quite notice it as it was covered by one of my plastic shoe racks. Then, we moved that shoe rack together so that they do the necessary cleaning. Thank you for this extra-mile work done.
