• Had a leak from somewhere after having the whole house repiped with a different company. Jack came out on Sunday and we discussed where it might be coming from. Jamie and Dakota came out on Monday and started the work. After everything was dismantled Jamie finally discovered that the leak was due to the repipers cutting through the AC drain line. He repaired that, then they both came out and completed installing everything that had to be removed. Through it all, those two and Jack were pleasant professional and very communicative so I knew what was happening throughout! I will definitely be using them in the future! Thanks for being such great people, AND for having actual weekend hours!!

• Despite being a monthly subscription member, I'm having a hard time giving a good review of my most recent experience. Our tub was clogged. A plumber was scheduled to snake it for the afternoon of 8/31. I asked that it be after 5pm so I can be home from work. No one contacted us until after 7:15pm and by that time we are putting a child to bed. Rescheduled for the following Saturday 9/5. "John" arrived with a snake cable too large to fit in the tub and attempted unsuccessfully to snake from the cleanout in the yard, recommended the tub line be hydro-jetted, and he promised to come the following Saturday 9/12. I asked that it be after noon as our family would not be home earlier, and asked for an estimate of that work. Saturday 9/12 I was called at 10am that plumber (not "John") was on the way, ignoring the request to arrive after noon. Also we never got an estimate. The dispatcher told me "John" wrote down in their internal notes it will be $2,016. I said cancel, I'm not paying that. Dispatcher offered to send another plumber to assess the situation, which I agreed. Next plumbers to come were Damien and his partner. First offered to send a camera into the cleanout to find the clog for $250, which I agreed. To my knowledge the camera never took images in the direction of the tub, but instead was routed downstream away from the tub, in the 4" line in the front yard. A crack was found in that line, which I saw and do not dispute. Meanwhile, using a properly-sized snake cable, they managed to clear the tub clog. Hydro jet was recommended to ensure the whole clog is cleared, which I agreed. $950, which is still pretty high but I wanted to be sure the tub line is clear longterm. And knowing there was a crack in the 4" sewer, I was talked into including a "spot repair" of that. The total suddenly became $2,300, to hydrojet ($950) and repair a one-foot section of 4" diameter PVC pipe (an additional $1,400). Damien said the ipad could not show me a breakdown until after I put a signature, because "it's combining two orders, it's hard to explain." A 4" PVC pipe, even if 10 feet long, retails for $34 at Home Depot, so apparently the hourly rate for labor for two guys to dig a one-foot hole and swap a one-foot section of pipe, elapsed time 30 minutes at most, is over $1,300... I feel ripped off, and I'll be re-assessing my "membership" which does not appear to have benefitted me in any way.

• ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT TRUST OR RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!! We had a technician (James R.) come to our home to provide an estimate for installing a standpipe and drain connection for our washing machine discharge line in our laundry room—a relatively straightforward plumbing job. His initial quote was $2,500. After we told him we weren’t interested and politely asked him to leave, he returned a few minutes later, knocked on our door, and said he had “called his boss” and could suddenly do the exact same work for $500. We still declined and got a second opinion from another licensed plumbing company the very next day. Their quote for the same scope of work was $400. A price dropping from $2,500 to $500 within minutes raises serious concerns about the integrity of the original estimate AND the technicians. It was purely an attempt to take advantage of new, young homeowners who might not know what the work should actually cost. Do yourself a favor—FIND SOMEONE ELSE. Based on our experience, we would never trust them with our home.

• As typical of each time I have to place a service call with Joe Cool, the service is outstanding! My AC unit was hit by lightning late last week, resulting in damage to the inside unit. Luis was sent as my tech and he was quick in diagnosing the issue, providing me a temporary solution to get me through the weekend, and then just moments ago, replacing the new part that was ordered and came in earlier than we all believed it would. I strongly recommend these folks and Luis in particular, should you be fortunate to have him dispatched as your tech. Thank Luis and Joe Cool.

• Good plumbers, I'm a property manager and did several jobs with Joe Cool, assigned them several times, however, on the last job, I agreed the estimate with the company, scheduled 2 times pipes cleaning, blocked the dates in the rental house and both times nobody showed up and second times didn't even call me.
