  • Both Rick Brooks and Elijah Clark were excellent to work with. Both were knowledgeable and provided detailed explanations of my options. Elijah worked hard to get me the services I needed within a budget that I could afford. Rick was super cool guy who chatted with me about my concerns, offered solutions, and then gave me some tips for questions that I had about his trade and experiences. Very good dudes.

  • Was able to get electrician and plumber out within same week that I called. I needed a new dedicated circuit outlet run from breaker box to near sump pump, replacement ceiling fan/lights and two replacement ceiling light fixtures installed and a new sump pump with installation. When electrician had difficulty, 2 more electricians came out and they got the job finished same day.

  • I was looking for an electric sub panel installation quote, and due to my time constraints AA was able to send Adam Humphreys out the next day. Adam thoroughly documented and went over with me with all the options for my sub panel needs and more. I felt that he professionally addressed all my questions. Thank you Academy Air folks. P.S. this review is about getting service quote, at the time of this writing I still am reviewing quotes and have yet to pick a company to do the work.

  • I am very disappointed in this Academy Air customer service. I made an appointment to have a ceiling fan installed, weeks ago. Took off work on the agreed upon day and time frame. On the day of my appointment, I waited for 3 hrs and received a call stating they needed to reschedule my appointment because the technician had a big job that was taking longer, but then this was quickly changed by the office staff and assured me that I was next in line. Several hours passed and it was nearing the end of the workday, so I called back again. I was then informed that the technician went home sick. I asked to speak to a manager to voice my frustration and to attempt to work out another day and time etc.. but was told it would be24-48 hrs before I could speak to a manager. This is unacceptable and unprofessional!!! This use to be a great company to do business with. I am very disappointed in the experience that I have had today. This was a complete waste of my time. A disappointed customer!!!

  • We initially had a good experience with Academy Air but that has drastically changed over the last 4 years since we purchased our new AC and Furnace 12/2022. First issue is that when we were in talks of getting a new unit we expressed that we wanted an issue with our 2nd floor being 5+ degrees warmer in the summer and we wanted the new unit to address that. We were told over and over that the new unit would address that issue. The summer came and then we were told the new unit would not ever fix that issue. The next issue is when we bought we were assured we’d get two rebates but after going back and forth with the companies we were told Academy didn’t know what they were talking about in our second rebate. The first rebate we received no issue. Then I’ve been fighting with them to get services reminders for the AC and Furnace. Sometimes I’m told they fixed the issue and I’ll get them other times they tell me that isn’t something they offer. I called today to change out the card we had on file for autopay on our membership. The membership when we signed up was only $12 and change and could be cancelled at any time. Well apparently they changed the system this past July and now it’s almost $15 plus you’re locked in for 12 months from July… I’ve had this membership for going on 4 years and was never told about any changes or that we’d be locked in. Not to mention we’re behind on 3 services because they came to the house and cancelled our last service because we were “sick” with a cough in December…. We keep this membership simply because it allows us a free service on our AC and Furnace one each a year but we haven’t even been getting that. Everything else we’d need the membership for is covered under the warranty. I attempted to schedule a next service today because I learned about the membership changes and was told I’d have to wait 2 MONTHS for someone to come out. At this point I’m waiting on a supervisor to call me within the next 24-48hrs. The rep I spoke with couldn’t tell me when the cut off is to cancel the membership other than I had to wait 12 months from July and I would have to send an email to cancel in writing. They have zero customer service considering how many other HVAC companies are in the area. We’ve spent roughly $400 on this membership in the last three years and have only gotten 2-3 services out of it. Definitely not worth it unless you have faulty units. Even then they don’t seem to care about standing by the memberships. And when you call them on it they’ll just schedule you 2 months out to get even more money from you. 9/25 Update: I filed a BBB complaint on 9/21 and am waiting for it to be completed. Once completed I’m filing a claim with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for a UDAAP violation. You can’t deceive people into financing with false promises. As of now a manager failed to call me back yesterday with an update on the rebate as promised and they haven’t replied to the BBB complaint since 9/23. Per my last call with a manager on 9/23 she was refunding our membership back to December and I should expect to see the refund in 10 business days or sooner. She also mentioned that they had pictures in their system still from the sales rep taking pictures of my Ameren and Spire statements to submit our rebates.

I also wanted to add Ben Klende was a great help today and very professional as well. So I would give him 5 stars too.
