• Our family's thanks to the team at Advantage Heating and Cooling in Victoria who pulled out the stops to help us over the Christmas holiday weekend. We were away in Toronto (Dec.27), and a neighbor let us know the temperature had dropped to 9 C in our house despite the thermostat being set at 19 C (two cats in the house), and Victoria's forecast was for 0 degrees. Advantage's owner (Norm) let me know that he was dispatching Wayne (Service Technician) to troubleshoot the issue which turned out to be a fried control board on our 9 year old furnace. Wayne brought two compact space heaters to keep the house safe from freezing water pipes and our pets warm while a control board was sourced. Randy (Service Technician), installed it on Dec. 29th, so we returned to a warm and safe house (cats and pipes were fine) during Victoria's first cold snap. Their office support (Winnie) helped us get the accounts sorted quickly. We could not be happier with Advantage Heating and Cooling with respect to their quick response, professional expertise and communications throughout the process. I highly recommend them and have no hesitation in contacting them for future heating/cooling issues.

• Advantage Heating and Cooling installed equipment in my home in 2007 and have taken care of it ever since. Rylan performed the annual servicing of the heat pump and gas fireplace today. He resolved an issue with the fireplace thermostat, performed the system checks, cleaned the equipment and cleaned/replaced filters. • I had an air conditioner installed open 3/28/2023 at our home from Advantage Heating And Cooling. Laying down the air duct was very tricky for one option and Braiden did an amazing job of installing it. The option Braiden installed was much more aesthetically pleasing. The upstairs room is cooled very quickly on hot days, which is very much appreciated. Adrian & Bruce did a great job of installing the outdoor unit, did a quality job and explained all of the maintenance items to do to keep the outdoor unit in top shape. • They charge 130$ per hour, I told the boss I have two washrooms and a range hood that needs to be installed, and you can bring all the materials that you need and I will pay for that. But the boss didn't tell the staff, therefore, the staff went back and forth twice to shop for the materials, which takes another full hour. When I asked if you could take one hour down because you wasted too much time on picking up the materials, the boss got mad at me and yelled at me. update: their boss is a psycho, after I made the payment, he still kept calling me even after the staff was gone, and asked his staff to come again to make trouble. Feel bad for his staff. I have no idea why he didn't directly answer my questions,but put something else into my mouth. I'm doing the secondary suite, with all legal permits and inspections. There is nothing wrong with 130$ per hour, but if you bring many people to come here at the last 30 mins without my permission and say I have to pay them ALL, Is that reasonable?

• Late Sunday got a report that a pipe was leaking in our church furnace room. Did a quick inspection, found a slow leak and called Norm at Advantage who called back in 5 min. Met their man Bruce on scene early the next day. After a short inspection he came up with a plan where the water would only be shut off for a short period so as not to interrupt the preschool. Got the necessary parts and fabricated a replacement section of pipe and installed it in short order. Gotta love these guys. Fast, friendly and efficient.
