Had a great experience with AL Group. Hired another HVAC team previously who misdiagnosed my issue. I got a second opinion through these guys, and met Gene. He knows his stuff. Immediately diagnosed the issue with my upstairs HVAC, and then on inspection of my other HVAC unit found some issues and immediately got to work. Gene walked me through the problems and their solutions while showing me what was going on, which I really appreciated not having any HVAC experience. Great honest team with great prices! Can’t recommend enough!

Simple problem: the fan stopped spinning. The technician who came out actually made my system worse—it was working before the diagnostic testing, and now it isn’t. Then gave an estimate of total codes cost: $1-3k. Also, as a precaution, if you’re a woman, you may want to have your husband or partner present during service visits, just to ensure everything is handled appropriately.

Everyone!! This company is amazing. Its obvious that they spend much time and effort to train their technicians. Aliak was a true teacher and taught me so many things about my furnace. He was respectful in the care of my home and I suggest everyone to call this company for HVAC service. I'm sure that they have other great techs, but I would ask for Aliak personally..lol. Decided on AL Group out of 4 Companies TL;DR: 11/10 Exceptional and exceeded expectations on all points. There are lots of reasons to go with this company but I wanted to call out some of the big ones for anyone on the fence. At least have them come out and assess your system and you’ll see for yourself. Details for anyone interested… Context: Over the last 1.5 years, 4 HVAC companies provided replacement proposals of our roughly 25 year old system. We’ve had furnace leak issues since we moved in. Condenser on roof, no roof or ground access, power lines in the way. Huge headache. They provided guidance throughout the entire process even knowing that we thought we’d have to go with another company with a crane. Transparency and Attention to Detail: - The proposals they provided were the most detailed across all 4 companies, breaking down exactly what you’re paying for. In contrast, one very big and popular company in Philly (let’s just call them “Silo”) hardly listed anything in the proposals, leaving a ton of grey area of what would be installed and what would be covered. “Silo’s” prices were also much higher than all other companies. - Alex, the gentleman who came out to give an estimate, was by far the most thorough. He even identified where vents weren't properly joined and why that was resulting in hardly any air in our master bedroom. This was not even looked at by “Silo”. Alex fully explained why each option was recommended and how it applied specifically to our needs. Again, stark difference against “Silo” which insisted that just replacing my furnace instead of the whole 25 year old system would be fine because it would be too much work for them to deal w/the condenser. Red flag given how the components work with each other, the age of the overall system, and changes to code re: freon. Support & Quality of Work: - For HVAC companies, the people that come in and assess are generally not the people coming in to do the install; however, Alex did stop by during our install to ensure all was going well and insisted that we have his personal cell to call/text at any time of day or night. - The installers were incredibly professional and considerate of our home and seemed to try to take up as little space/noise as possible. They worked so diligently, we're not even sure they gave themselves any breaks. When they left, it was as if no one had even been in the house. They covered all the working areas and were careful not to walk on the uncovered areas with their shoes on. - They invest in their techs and send them for regular training. This is huge as you'll find that the most important thing is not actually the brand of the system but the quality of install. Other companies often use sub-contractors, particularly in the busy season. Having someone come in and take pride in the quality of their work is a differentiator for me. - Alex was very prompt and detailed in all of his answers back to me. I’m usually on the phone all day for work so it’s difficult for me to call. Most companies only want to answer questions over the phone. Alex was very accommodating and made the time to answer all my emails with detailed responses of his own, never pushing me for a commitment. In contrast, “Silo” was very insistent, pushing me for any kind of sale within days. He and his manager even texted me saying they were trying to make their quarter-end sales targets! Pricing: Their prices were competitive and included great labor warranty as well as other details like smart thermostat, drain pans, and smart sensors (especially nice considering the leak issues I experienced with the old unit!). We are very happy with how the system is functioning. It is much quieter and effective than our old unit. We only briefly tested the cooling function but so far, overall performance is exceeding expectations.
