I see the company is under new ownership that would explain the poor customer service. Six years ago, Alan’s AC replaced my AC unit. Three years ago the until stopped working. I contacted them because the AC was still under warranty. They replaced a coil which was under warranty, but charged $1400 for labor which they said was not covered. While that seemed very expensive I paid it since they fixed the problem. Yesterday, my AC unit stopped working again. Thinking the unit may still be under warranty, I called Alan’s AC around 10:45 am for service. A man answered and I let him know the unit was not working. He said they would have service contact me to make an appointment. I waited 3 hours, but gave up and contacted Howlair AC. They immediately made an appointment and came out same day to fix the problem. The part and service was less than $325. They were excellent. I did not hear back from Alan’s AC until today at 11:52 am more than a day later and this was just to make an appointment. Horrible customer service and follow through.

Alan’s Air fixed an issue with my wiring, added R-22 to a couple units, and clean coils. Michael did a great job and he was forthright and fair.

I had a very disappointing experience with this company during a recent AC service, which was especially surprising given my positive experience with them in August 2022 when they installed my AC unit. At that time, the service was professional, pricing was transparent, and the invoice provided a clear and detailed breakdown of costs. I also recall being informed that my system included a 10-year warranty on parts, which contributed to my trust in the company. However, my recent experience was the complete opposite. The issue involved a failed capacitor. Before proceeding, I did my own research and found that the pricing I was being charged seemed higher than typical market rates. I respectfully asked for a detailed breakdown of the charges on the invoice, but the company refused to provide any transparency and only listed a flat service cost. Additionally, the original invoice listed a payment due date of April 1st. However, I was later pressured to pay immediately on the same day of service, which was a sudden and unexplained change in terms. When I did not comply right away, the technician sent multiple unprofessional and pressuring messages, including a statement saying they would return to remove the installed capacitor and start kit if payment was not made immediately. This approach felt extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. Threatening to remove essential equipment that has already been installed—especially when it affects a tenant’s living conditions—is not acceptable business practice. I was also told that the capacitor was not covered under the AC’s parts warranty, despite my understanding that I had a 10-year parts warranty on the system. This contradiction was not clearly explained and further added to my concerns about transparency and consistency. The technician attributed these changes to a recent ownership change, but that does not excuse the lack of professionalism, unclear pricing, and aggressive communication. Overall, this experience was frustrating and disappointing. I value clear communication, transparency, and professionalism—none of which were demonstrated in this interaction. Unfortunately, I will not be using this company again, nor can I recommend their services based on this experience. I truly wish my experience had been consistent with the positive service I received in the past, but this situation has significantly impacted my trust in the company.

I'd give zero if it were an option. Years ago this company really did good work for me but last year I called them out for regular service (no issues) they missed the appointment and didn't answer any of my calls till hours later. The tech apologized and offered to do the service for free 3 weeks later ( a little annoying but hey free) when they came out the tech made my wife feel very uncomfortable and was pretty rude. He said the system looked great and left after checking it out. The very next day the system stopped blowing cold air. When we called them to do an emergency call they couldn't fit us in but we called another company and they said it was iced up from low refrigerant. I called Alan's back because they said it was perfect and the owner got super defensive and aggressive. After a way too long call he agreed to send someone out and test the system. Pretty sure they just came out and added refrigerant and left because they were supposed to come back a few months later and check the dye test but refused to answer my calls. But about 3 months after the service they started sending me a bill for the free service that started this whole thing and every month for the past 4 months I've emailed them to tell them I don't owe them any money and they say they will fix it but they never do so now I'm leaving this review.

We had a mini split installed in our guest house and couldn’t be happier! From the first call to the final installation, the team at Alan’s Air was friendly, helpful, and really knew their stuff. They showed up on time, worked efficiently, and made sure everything was set up perfectly before they left. Special shout out to Bryan and Craig The new system keeps the space super comfortable and runs so quietly you hardly notice it’s on

Of course it’s August after a record number of days above 110F and my AC unit starts blowing hot air. I called Alan’s Air. They put me in for a next day appointment. I had a feeling it was the fan motor and he confirmed it. I’ve been using another air company and was tired of them trying to up sell me to a new $8K unit every time. First thing Alan said was “your AC is in great shape, blowing cool air, new fan motor and your set”. The cost of the fan motor was less than what I paid to have it replaced 4 years ago. Nice guy... straight shooter. He’s been in the business over 40 years and this is not a chain. Checks every box for who I want to bring my business to. Update: capacitor went out a couple years later. Alan’s air is my first call. They are straight shooters. The type of people I want to do business with and support.

Chris was very nice, honest, informative, he came out quicker than anyone else (less than 1 hour after calling), and correctly diagnosed the problem, after some lazy dummy from Semper Fi Heating and Cooling came over, barely looked at it, MIS-diagnosed the problem, and wanted us to get a WHOLE NEW A/C UNIT. Thank you Chris! Call Alan's Air if you need HVAC work done!
