We (our condo building in Roseville, MN) have used this company to replace stack shut-off valves, which should last a long time. The ones they replaced were nearly 40 years old. They installed about 120 of them, and of the first 16 of them checked after a leak failed. Not all were tested, just 16. Cities1 REFUSES to call our property management company back after multiple messages left. Look elsewhere for your plumbing needs! They don't even have the courtesy to return our phone calls.Would give them a negative rating if possible. Looks elsewhere!

Cities 1 has in the past served our condo building so well. Something has changed in the last year. 16 valves they recently installed have failed. This could cause flooding for our building. But.. they are not returning our calls. Be aware something has changed - it isn't the same.

Hi! In the process of creating an access panel, the plumber caused extensive damage to the surrounding drywall. This wasn't simply a clean opening that could be patched after the plumbing repair was completed. The drywall around the access panel was broken and compromised to the point that it can no longer support a straightforward patch. I live in a condo and was informed that if there were surrounding imperfections, I was responsible for them but didn't realize the damage would be this extensive. Instead of a simple repair, I'll now have to cut out a much larger section of drywall and replace it because the remaining drywall around the opening has been destroyed. What should have been a minor patch has turned into a much more involved project. I'm generally willing to tackle small home repairs myself, but this is beyond what I'm comfortable learning from a YouTube video. I'll most likely have to hire a drywall professional to correct the damage, adding unexpected time and expense that could have been avoided with more careful workmanship or a different plumbing company. Additionally, silicone caulk was applied unevenly and in excessive amounts around much of the access panel. The heavy, inconsistent bead prevents the access panel from sitting flush with the wall, resulting in an unprofessional appearance and creating additional work to remove the excess caulk before the area can be repaired properly. On the other hand, as far as I can tell, the plumbing works. UPDATE 9/1/26 I had an minor inquiry regarding my bill and I was contacted by someone from billing. What followed was a one-sided, confrontational phone call. I barely said more than “hello” and “goodbye.” Before I had an opportunity to explain my concerns, he immediately became defensive, criticized me for leaving a Google review, and told me that the problem was solely due to water damage. He also stated that his plumbers had to return a second time because they were waiting for me to have the drywall repaired. For clarity, the drywall repair person who later evaluated and repaired the damage told me that it was partially due to water and partially due to shoddy workmanship. I have no issue acknowledging the water damage. My concern is the workmanship and the fact that I was never informed about the extent of the damage caused during the plumbing work and the confrontational response from billing rep. The second visit was, in my view, to finish work that had not been properly completed during the first visit, yet I was charged for that additional visit. I paid the bill in full immediately. I had no interest in prolonging a one-sided argument, particularly when the representative had already decided that the company was not at fault and did not seem to be in the state of mind to receive my perspective. One positive note: the interactions that Megan, the receptionist, and I had together were consistently pleasant, professional, calm, and unemotional. I expect the representative may respond to this review with his own explanation or attempt to characterize my concerns differently. That is his prerogative. I am simply documenting what I personally saw, what I was told (and not told), what occurred during my interactions with the company, and my reaction to being addressed in a confrontational manner. I am not seeking a refund or compensation from the company. I simply want to document my experience as a customer so others can make an informed decision.

We had an emergency gas leak that needed to be resolved immediately. Cities1 was responsive, fixed the issue quickly, and was cost-effective — and they didn’t do more work than was necessary, which is often my concern when a repair is outside my wheelhouse. I would confidently recommend their team!

I've worked with Cities 1 on multiple projects over the years, both personally and professionally, and they've become my go-to contractor for HVAC and plumbing work. Most recently, I've used them for a project at my home, a separate project at my office, and an emergency gas leak repair at a client's property. In every situation, their team was responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. The gas leak issue was especially time-sensitive, and Cities 1 responded quickly, communicated clearly throughout the process, and got the problem resolved safely and efficiently. As a real estate broker, I regularly need reliable contractors I can confidently recommend to clients. Cities 1 has consistently earned that trust. Their technicians show up when they say they will, explain issues in a way that makes sense, provide fair recommendations, and deliver quality work. If you're looking for a dependable HVAC and plumbing company in the Twin Cities, I highly recommend Cities 1. They've become my first call for both routine projects and unexpected emergencies.

Technician was here for 2 hours, but did not figure out the issue at all and then overcharging close to $600 for that.

I've now used Cities1 for plumbing and heating, and they are incredible at both. Fast, efficient, and interested in making sure that I am left with a working furnace: even when I called at midnight when my heat went out in the middle of January! Will definitely use them and I recommend them to everyone.

Unfortunately, I cannot write an accurate review because I never was able to ever hear back from Jarred, one of the owners/techs. I called starting Nov 22, again Nov 29 *(recognizing there was a Holiday), again, December 3, December 10 and 17!! The ladies at reception Emily and Megan are delightful. But the fact I could never get a quote/estimate is poor business practice.

Cities 1 has taken care of the boiler at our home and several of the homes of our clients. They are not only professional and extremely knowlegeable about the intricate details of boiler heating systems, they go the extra mile. I am a REALTOR, and I had a client out-of-town (and cell phone range) and we needed an emergency safety check at the client's house after a home inspector (who didn't know complicated boilers but sure could comment on them) created inspection issues. Avery, the owner's son, came running to the rescue. I learned more from Avery in an hour about the heating system in the home than I could have ever figured out on my own or from techs from other companies. He wrote up the service details on the invoice before he left the driveway. Whether you have a basic boiler or a complicated one, old or new - Cities 1 knows boilers. They have consistently fixed things other companies said were beyond repair, and they are fearless when it comes to the servicing of a system. Their front office staff are excellent and responsive as well, and their billing/invoicing system is efficient and organized for your record keeping. Residential or commercial - this is the company for boilers.

I have never used them for heating or air, but I can tell you that at least one of their technicians should learn how to drive with a business name all over the exterior of his/her vehicle. Southbound on Highway 65 on June 10th shortly after 5 pm. Blocking lanes and tailgating for miles.

Christmas weekend I had a pump failure on a 50 unit apartment building, resulting in no heat . One vendor came out and worked for 6 hours and eventually said they didn't know what to do and said I had to call someone else. Made a bunch of calls to vendors who either were not willing to come out or had no experience with this type of boiler. Called Cities1, gave them my information. The tech called me back and he was there within the hour. Walked in, very professional and confident. He knew exactly what needed to be fixed and had me back up and running in no time. I will definitely be using them going forward.

I had a wonderful experience with Cities 1 Plumbing. I submitted a request via email Sunday night and was contact Monday morning by Megan. She was delightful to speak to and was even able to schedule a same day toilet install. A few hours later Don showed up at my door and fixed my toilet issue within an hour. I had a functioning toilet in under 12 hours from the initial point of contact. I am super impressed and will be recommending them to family and friends.

I recently called to have 3 running toilets fixed! Josh, the plumber assigned to my case called before he came and gave me an ETA! What struck me, is how energetic and polite he was on the phone! So awesome to hear! He showed up when he said was going to, was sincerely polite in person as he was on the phone, and fixed all 3 running toilets! I strongly recommend Cities 1 Plumbing Heating, and Air Conditioning! Their service and professionalism was a breath of fresh air! 10/10

We had a leaking pipe late on Saturday, July 30. My husband called five different plumbing businesses that said they were 24 hour and seven days a week but two could not come out until Monday or Tuesday. Cities one was the only one that called us back and were able to come out Saturday evening. Jim could not have been more friendly and helpful and his quick response saved a lot of headache for my husband and I. I am thankful for the job they did and they have now earned all my future business. Thank you to Jim and the entire staff at cities one. Janet and Kevin
