They facilitated the home rebate program, and kept us in the loop every step of the way. Because I am in the HVAC/R trade, I had some understanding of the system. That said, I learned a lot and all my questions were answered professionally. The installation was meticulous with an attention to detail, and the orientation left me with a full understanding of how the system works. Lastly, there was very little space to work due to the furnace location. They were very patient getting things in place. All the old stuff was taken away, and the work area was left clean.

• Jeremy and the team at comfort hub truly went above and beyond in the process of installing our Daikin SkyAir heat pump. Starting from the initial (virtual!) assessment, it was obvious that Jeremy was very knowledgeable and experienced. Unlike most of the other contractors we spoke to, he was confident that we would be able to install a fully electric system (heat pump with heating elements) and a heat pump water heater on our 100 Amp panel without an upgrade. When our 18-year-old gas furnace developed a leak, he was able to expedite delivery of the heat pump and reschedule another planned installation so that we could get the heat pump put in weeks ahead of schedule. The installation itself went smoothly, and we’ve been very satisfied with our system, which has been remarkably quiet and efficient down to about -10. We’ll have to wait until next winter to see how it does in the cold weather, but we couldn’t be happier to be completely off gas! I would highly recommend comfort hub for anyone thinking of installing a heat pump.

• Jeremy was very knowledgeable and responsive. I met him first at the home show, we talked after that via email and then he dropped by to walk through the system he recommended - heat pump/furnace. I did my homework on the Daikin system and determined that with a new heat pump and new furnace, going with them and the integration + 12yr warranty was best for me. The quote I got was more competitive than a couple of the big Ottawa companies when it came to what I was getting. I have to say that one of the best parts of the experience was the team's attention to detail. They did things when it came to replacing some gas lines and putting in a hard piping for the water draining that others I don't think would (at least it is a clear upgrade to what I had in place before). I would and have already recommended Comfort Hub to friends/family.

Jeremy walked me through the different options and actually explained how things worked instead of just running through the shiny features of the system that most of us don't really understand anyway. • Daikin Fit 2-Ton Heat Pump | Daikin DM97 Gas Furnace | Daikin One Touch Thermostat CONTEXT Hearing about the Greener Homes Grant, we explored options for heat pumps and a high-efficiency furnace. We received 6 quotes encompassing all of the major brands. Prices ranged from $14-$17K, depending on heat pump and furnace combo. The Daikin Fit system quoted by Comforthub was competitive, and we went with it for the following reasons: 1. Interactions with Comforthub were excellent. There was no attempt to up-sell me on one product or the other. We were given options, and all our questions were answered without 'trashing' competitors. 2. The 12 year warranty on everything, including thermostat, is unbeatable, and provided a sense of security and projected confidence in Daikin and Comforthub. 3. The Daikin Fit system was the only system where the heat pump and variable speed furnace were dynamically communicating. Given that this was our first foray into heat pumps, we weren't ready to ditch the comfort and security of a gas furnace. However, the idea of reducing our gas consumption was attractive for cost and environmental reasons, and the Daikin Fit system allows one to maximize energy efficiency and comfort. 4. Comforthub posted pictures of previous work on their website. An important consideration separating HVAC companies is the quality of the installation. Given the complexity of our install, I needed assurances that it was going to be done properly. The pictures constituted evidence that my install was going to be top notch and performed by professionals. 5. Price. INSTALLATION Installation was performed in 1 day by a team of 3, who were courteous, respectful, and left our home clean and tidy when finished. The quality of our install was exceptional. It is clear that the install team takes pride in their work, and their attention to detail is outstanding. Examples include: (1) the lines from our condensate pump and humidifier were plumbed with hard PVC tubing instead of flexible clear tubing. Instead of dumping into our sink, they were plumbed into an existing drain. (2) The piping to and from our furnace was minimized out of the way. (3) All electrical wiring was tidy and out of the way (practically invisible). (4) The team even spackled around the new thermostat, using some of our paint to make it look clean. This level of professionalism confirmed my impressions from their website. Without a doubt, Comforthub takes pride in their work. PERFORMANCE|SERVICE We've had our Daikin system for a month now and love it. The furnace fan is on all the time circulating air, and it is quiet. At times we've used our heat pump exclusively, and are amazed that it can heat our house even when outdoor temperatures are subzero (so far to -7C). Often we prioritize comfort over efficiency and engage the furnace when we want to rapidly ramp the temperature (18 to 21C). The heat pump is great for maintaining temperatures, but it is slower in ramping between temperature ranges. For anything more than a few degrees, we use the furnace to rapidly heat our house, but once we get it there the heat pump takes over to maintain temp, reducing our gas consumption. We did have one communication error, where our heat pump was 'disconnected' from our thermostat. I immediately contacted Comforthub by email and they rapidly responded. After some back and forth email troubleshooting (several days, but we made it clear it was not an emergency because we were able to heat our house with our furnace) they sent over the specialist who installed our heat pump, and he rapidly diagnosed and fixed the problem. SUMMARY We are extremely happy with our choice in the Daikin Fit system (so far so good!). Based on price, service, and installation, we are also extremely happy with Comforthub, and can recommend them without reservation. Truth be told, when everything is considered, I think you will be hard pressed to find a better HVAC company.
