• ⭐️⭐️ I am disappointed with my experience with CoolMark Heating and Air. I paid approximately $10,000 for a new AC system, but it consistently failed to keep up with the San Antonio summer heat. For approximately 3.5 years, we spent elevated amounts on electricity while our house regularly remained 78–80°F during the summer. To his credit, Mark was responsive and made multiple return visits in an attempt to determine why the system was not performing properly. He installed two additional vents, inspected the system, and ultimately replaced the compressor after determining that it was not properly kicking into stage 2. Despite these efforts, the underlying problem was never identified. Eventually, I personally went into the attic and discovered that the house had less than one inch of insulation in the attic. I hired a separate insulation company and paid approximately $1,800 to have the entire attic properly insulated. The difference was immediate. The AC now keeps the house comfortable and functions exactly as it should. What is particularly frustrating is that Mark told me that identifying or educating me about the inadequate insulation was not his responsibility, and that a handyman or my home inspector should have identified it instead. I understand that the insulation itself was not installed by CoolMark, but after installing a $10,000 HVAC system that repeatedly could not keep up with the heat, I believe a competent HVAC contractor should have recognized that an attic with essentially no insulation was a major contributing factor, or at minimum clearly communicated that fact. I was told by Mark the insulation had been inspected and was "fine." Based on what I ultimately found, I have serious doubts that the insulation was ever adequately assessed. I appreciate that Mark was responsive and did make an effort to troubleshoot the system. However, the end result was that we spent years paying higher electric bills, living in an uncomfortably hot house, and ultimately had to spend another $1,800 to correct an issue that should have been identified much earlier. Unfortunately, responsiveness alone does not make up for the misinformation and the years of inconvenience and expense that resulted. Two stars.

• Mark came highly recommended to me via my boss. I called him late on a Saturday afternoon, he promptly came by my house to evaluate my water heater & a minor faucet repair I needed. He discussed price, which was very reasonable, and then immediately scheduled for a convenient time to come back and get the job done. He was efficient, and when the work was complete he showed me and explained what he did. He has financing options too, which was a huge plus. He is super sweet & respectful of property, and did not mind at all that my pups were in the house at times during the install. • I submitted a request online when my system was not cooling my home and the unit appeared to be frozen over. Within an hour of submitting the request, the owner Mark called me back and within 15 minutes, he was at my house. He immediately determined the issue was a motor blower fan. The repair that was needed to fix my 17 year old unit was going to be an expensive part, so he also gave me an immediate quote to replace the system. After discussing with my husband, we determined a full system replacement was the best route. I accepted the estimate that night around 10pm and immediately received a text scheduling service the following day. In the summer heat, being with out central air is miserable, I was dreading having to go another day without it. I never once asked to be helped sooner but his crew was at my house the next day and the new system was up and operating within about 5 hours total. I had used CoolMark in the past when my drainpipe was clogged, and after that service and the extraordinary service I received this week, will be using CoolMark for all of our A/C needs. I can't say enough good things about this company, we always use local companies when possible.

• Mark, the owner of CoolMark, is refusing to honor our 10-year parts and 5-year labor AC warranty by making false claims that I harassed his workers. Plus, Mark, although he is a married man, started giving me a massage, which my brother has on video. I immediately asked him to stop. He claims I have no evidence, I have a video, where is his evidence? I suggest that nobody should use his company. He is a fraud and a sexual harasser. Plus he did such a bad job on installation, that the TXV valve had to be replaced a year later. If you want an honest worker and a proper job, I suggest you do not go to CoolMark.
