  • Summary: - I paid Dr. Ductless $189 for a diagnostic visit. - The visit lasted approximately 2½ hours, including roughly two hours during which the onsite technician tried to reach a remote Fujitsu specialist. Once reached, the specialist participated for about two minutes. - The following day, my system displayed a new E99 fault for the first time and experienced materially worse cooling. - A CSR incorrectly dismissed E99 as “the same error” as the E22. - The company explicitly refused to investigate the new fault or offer any response other than having me pay $2,200 for the proposed board replacement. - They denied any responsibility without returning, inspecting the new condition or performing the Fujitsu-prescribed E99 checks. - A promised supervisor callback never occurred, and my detailed email and E99 photograph received no reply. Before the visit, my Fujitsu multi-zone system had consistently experienced an intermittent E22 fault. Fujitsu’s model-specific service manual indicates that, if the installed indoor-unit combination is valid, the outdoor main board is the likely cause. I therefore agree that the proposed board replacement is a reasonable diagnosis for the original E22 problem, and I was open to proceeding. After the visit, however, the system displayed E99 for the first time and cooling became materially worse. Fujitsu identifies E99 as a different fault—a 4-way-valve error—with a separate diagnostic procedure. For E99, Fujitsu directs the technician to check connectors and wiring, indoor thermistors, the valve solenoid coil, the mechanical valve and the board’s valve output before blaming the main board. Some of those possibilities involve connections or components that could potentially be disturbed accidentally during inspection or testing. I am not claiming that the technician caused E99. I asked the company to investigate a new fault that appeared immediately after its visit before I paid $2,200 for a repair that might fix E22 while leaving E99 unresolved. Instead, the company expressly refused to perform any further investigation, denied responsibility without examining the new condition and continued insisting that the only option was the $2,200 board replacement. This conclusion was offered despite none of the separate Fujitsu E99 checks having been performed. The contrast in responsiveness was striking. When I emailed about paying the $189 invoice, the office responded within minutes. When I reported the new fault, supplied an uncropped photograph and requested technical follow-up, my email went unanswered and the promised supervisor never called. The business relationships were also unclear. My service was booked and branded as Dr. Ductless, but the van said Temp Air, and the emailed estimate was from Temp Air Systems but the PDF labeled Dr Ductless. Temp Air and Dr. Ductless publish the same Lawndale address, while Dr. Ductless’s website also contains Southland Heating & Air material. Consumers should not assume these names represent completely independent service organizations; verify which legal company employs the technician and will be responsible for the work and follow-up. - I never claimed the technician caused E99. I said that the next day the system ran worse, displayed a new code and shut down during the afternoon heat—none of which had happened before. That warranted investigation. - I never called the warranty board “free,” disputed legitimate labor costs or demanded an admission of liability. I asked them to consider whether something was unintentionally disturbed, investigate E99 and return my calls. - The owner now acknowledges that E99 differs from E22—the point its CSR dismissed as “the same error.” I agree the board may fix E22; my concern is that E99 was not investigated before they insisted on the $2,200 replacement. - The owner acknowledges the missed callback and email. This public reply remains my only supervisory communication—to date no call, email, or direct response.

  • I had a great experience with with Matthew of Dr. Ductless. He was responsive and his team was exceptional especially Angel who went above and beyond. Both were great even when I decided to make a fairly significant change to improve the aesthetics of the project. We had all of our ducts replaced, an air scubber added to our furnace and installed a mini-split to our master bedroom.

  • This company and its techs and office are tops! They use the best equipment, and personnel, are on time, thorough, polite and professional. Honest as the day is long. Service visits are just as good as installation. They teach you how best to use place your unit too! I needed electrical work as well since my home has old wiring from tge 1930s…of course they’re certified in all they do, and they got the proper city paperwork so I didn’t have wrangle that chore. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • I had Dr. Ductless come out to clean my very dirty mini split AC/Heat unit. The tech showed up on time, explained everything he was going to do and cleaned the unit very well. Amazing what a difference it made when the AC was on and clean. Whole experience was very professional and I would recommend them to anybody looking at maintenance of their AC or heating units.

  • Really smart folks, patient and supportive through the whole process. They were great with our permitting coordination and the install was a super efficient. They arrived with a large team and worked with a real attention to detail: they took care to lay down protection, cleaned up at the end of the day, and even did some touch up that wasn't in their scope. Their communication at all phases of work was terrific, from the site superintendent and install team to the owner who was always available to talk through questions. I don't leave reviews often, but Matt and his team are standouts and we love the end result. thank you!

  • I wanted to install a heat pump in my house. Before we just had window AC units and a wall furnace. DD blew my mind with a central air system that absolutely rocks. DD had the best quote and a great plan to meet my needs. The install took 2 days and they even helped with financing and rebates. Highly recommend this outfit! Update, I just finished my inspections today. DD sent out a rep to be here while the city signed off on everything. It just so happened that a leak had formed by the vent for my old furnace that had beem removed. Israel, who was here for the inspection, went up a patched it without me even asking. Even after the installation, these guys have beenthere for me to make sure everything was aces. Cannot recommend these guys enough.

  • I've heard of contractors just being late for appointments but this is the first time a company has been so incompetent as to just completely lose an appointment and not really even know why. Must be as bad a company as I have ever dealt with. Dr. Ductless lost my appointment and when I called at the end of the appointment window to find out what was going on they told me they didnt know but only that I had somehow "fallen through the cracks" because the person I had made the appointment with never passed the information along or something. They were unable to send anyone until the following week (at which point I canceled and got someone else of course).

  • We were in a bind on a 109° Day and had no expectations of a A/C company showing up the same day, however Matt was there within a few hours. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional when It came to everything related to heating and air, and even wore “booties” on his feet without my wife having to ask. Matt came up with a brilliant solution to the problem we’re experiencing, since our house temperatures vary’s by 30° between the upstairs and downstairs. They ended up putting in the units he suggested and we could not be more pleased by the quality and price of his work. This company deserves more stars than I was able to give.

  • Today I met with Laura. She was prompt, extremely personable, and overall explained everything so in-depth I felt more than comfortable choosing Dr. Ductless for my services. The ethics and morals she displayed while providing me honest information, honest quotes, and her honest opinion made me extremely confident that I was picking the best company for the job. This was not my first estimate, however, due to her expertise and knowledge and thorough review of all my best options I booked my installation appointment the same day as my estimate. Laura is amazing, I am so pleased she will be at my residence the day of installation with her workers and I’m very thankful I found them. Thank you Laura and Dr. Ductless for having such amazing employees. Also I spoke with Joesph Suregnor over the phone with questions prior to Laura coming out to my appointment, he was such a pleasure, a sweetheart, and a super cool guy, as well as very professional!

  • We were able to strategize with Matt and ended up installing a Mitsubishi central AC system in our 900 sq/ft. condo. The team at Dr. Ductless was on time, courteous, friendly and most importantly they performed a great service. We would recommend them to anyone looking for their help. 10/10

  • I couldn't be happier with my new mini split. From the consultation to the installation to the final permits, all was smooth sailing, and now I'm enjoying my amazing system! I highly recommend them!

    Laurie K.

  • Laura came and gave us an estimate on what we needed and set everything up. Pedro acme with his technicians and worked all day to install the mini splits and stayed to check to made sure everything was up and running smoothly before leaving. Both Laura and Pedro were great to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to have mini splits installed.

  • We met with 4 other ductless providers in the area, and Dr. Ductless was by far the best and most reliable choice! After a FREE home visit and assessment, they provided us with a quote on the spot. Other companies we worked with asked that we wait a week or more before receiving a quote. I worked specifically with Rod and Matt, and they provided fantastic service! They were so professional, easy to talk to, and patient with us. Financing with Dr. Ductless was an easy process! After our HOA board initially denied our request to install ductless (they had literally never heard of it before, and most people just use window units here anyways...) Rod and Matt came to a 6:30PM board meeting and presented to the HOA board! They were so helpful and clear with the board about the scope of work required. The board approved our project, and we have been enjoying our 3-zone mini-split system for about 2 weeks now. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ductless. They provided competitive pricing and payment options. The instillation took one day. The mini-splits are super easy to use and are SO EFFECTIVE at helping us maintain comfortable temperatures. Best of all, the ductless system is so quiet! We can actually hear our neighbor's window unit over our outdoor condensing unit. Crazy! Give Rod a call, and I promise you won't regret it!

  • Southland installed air conditioning in my home. I would highly recommend Southland HVAC, their communication was superb, they completed the installation in one day. The work was performed seamlessly, very neat and clean. I've been in the construction business as well as a general contractor of 40 years and in all those years never found a company that performed so well on residential work. From the initial sales call to the final installation, they communicated each step of the process and executed the work as they promised. They met with the city inspector and completed all final paperwork. Besides having the best price, Southland did EXCELLENT job! I will recommend them to all my family and friends for HVAC work.

  • Matt and his team were amazing. Super professional, and deal in all the major brands. Install was quick, clean and painless. They were very transparent about what I was getting and they delivered splendidly. They even took extra care to make sure my cat didn’t get out, which was the real priority 😻. Great warranty. Great service. Great price. Happy customer.
