  • This company is complete crap. Before you agree to sign the contract, read the terms of that contract. Honestly, most people have no business renting a water heater from any company. Buy your own and do your own maintenance! If you purchased your home from a builder, review your purchase agreement of sale with your lawyer and ensure to write a clause that exclude "All equipment rentals". If the builder does not allow to close with that clause, then when you get invited to sign for the equipment rental, do not sign anything. Save yourself the headache.

  • Insanely high monthly rent, which they keep increasing every year. Very poor experience with them. It’s a trap.

  • Garbage company. Forced into extremely unreasonable water heater agreement. The equipment is absolutely garbage, it has broken down 5 times in 10 months. Hot water isn’t a privilege. It’s a right. Section 14 of the agreement says “equipment will work for the term of this agreement” which is false and is a breach of contract.

  • Water tanker about 3 years old leaked gas as it running leaving me without hot water for weeks and a gas ell that was hard to detect it's source. It is a sleazy business practice with one customer service rep who acts like a bully than a customer service representative.

  • Unhelpful customer service who provides no information on billing, timeline for a technician to resolve issues. I agree with all the comments from frustrated customers stay far away from this company.

  • Update 2: we should be getting our system replaced. 3 years...it took 3 years. Update to my review: Things have not improved. Poor communication from the head office. They delegate to technicians who "assess" the problem. Everyone is nice, but not helpful. Our unit needs to be replaced (1.5 months ago), this was recommended by the techs, and no word from head office to schedule a replacement. We have emailed them multiple times. No reply. Our hot water is yellow because their heating unit is corroded. The cold water runs clear. Making our email public as we are at our wit's end. The cold weather is approaching, and no hot air. They are booking in techs to come and we have to take days off work. Nobody calls us to say that a tech won't be coming AND saying they have ordered the wrong part 4 TIMES IN A ROW!!!! Hello, I am writing this email to bring to your attention a major issue with our water heater. Ever since we moved into our newly built home in March 2023, we have been having daily issues with the water heating tank. This brand new water heating tank would turn off multiple times a day, until it was fixed by the amazing technician Ryan a few months ago (this took 5 months for it to get fixed, many unanswered calls, many days off on our part only to have the tech not come). As we approach colder temperatures, we realized our water heating tank also heats up the air in our home. A technician came to our home and said that the water heater can do only either or: heat water or heat the air - but not both at the same! He said the broken part will be ordered (that was a month ago). Long story short: the technician was supposed to come 4 times and every time it was cancelled with the explanation that the wrong part was ordered. One of these must be true if this is how the story is unfolding: customer service lied that they ordered a part and nobody was ever going to come anyways, the people responsible for ordering the parts are incompetent, the company is stealing our money and not providing services, or all the above! Upon review of the contract that we signed, we see that bullet #14 was not followed by your party: "Subject to the terms of this Agreement, we warrant that the Product will work for the term of this Agreement." (attached below) We are paying every month for a broken, useless product.

  • Gave them a payment method for a one time payment as well as closed my account. The office continued to charge the card after being told the card was not allowed to be on the account. Contacted the office to resolve the issue and they refused. Stay away from a company willing to be Fraudulent and illegally retain card information.

  • Extremely unprofessional and frustrating experience with Evolve Home Services. From the beginning, I was told that my issue would be resolved, but that never actually happened. Instead, I was stuck in an ongoing back-and-forth between Evolve and the builder, BuildUp DevCo, with each side passing blame and no one taking responsibility. As a customer, this left me completely unsupported. Communication was inconsistent, follow-ups were poor, and there was no real effort to provide a clear solution or timeline. It should not be the customer’s job to chase answers or manage disputes between companies. If you are considering working with Evolve, I strongly recommend reviewing your contract carefully and thinking twice before committing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

  • Bad service . Plz don’t get this service

  • Hidden increases, does not provide bills. Will give you a yearly invoice upon request, has double billed me. Lied to me and does not give you any kind of window as to when a tech will show up. Then you are told you may be billed because the tech was unable to do the work but still came out. Not worth your time, money or peace of mind to deal with them.

  • 0 STARS !!! SHOULD BE CALLED SCAM EVOLVE SERVICES. My water heater was installed by the builder which was sub contracted out to evolve since moving in I have had countless problems and break downs and have gone through several days without hot water . They don’t have a 24/7 tech available and they simply just don’t answer on weekends. I’m not the only one with this issue either they are not installing their equipment right or are buying units in bulk and just installing where they see fit. Prime example of modern day robbery. Hope these guys get shut down by Tssa !!

  • If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. Evolve Home Services has been nothing but a headache since we moved into our new home in Caledon East. We rent a hot water heater from Evolve, and apparently their unit cannot handle the hard water in our area. Every month or two it throws an E19 error code, meaning it needs to be flushed. At first, service calls were reasonably quick, but now it takes weeks just to get a technician out — leaving us without proper hot water and with zero urgency on their end. To make matters worse, Evolve is now trying to tell us to pay approximately $1000-$1500 out of pocket for a water softener, claiming it’s “not covered” under the rental agreement. They also warned that if we don’t install one and the unit “breaks,” it’s our negligence and we would have to pay even more. This is especially frustrating because this rental was set up through the builder, Countryside Homes, meaning this situation is not something we could have avoided, and we are locked into this contract for another 13 years. Customer support is just as bad. It’s always the same representative, who avoids giving any timelines for technicians and repeatedly says “I’ll call you back once I know more” — but never does. I always have to call back myself. Their claim of 24/7 support is false: calling late at night goes straight to voicemail, and calls after 5 PM or on weekends are never answered. So essentially, we’re being blamed and threatened financially for a unit that was provided with the home and clearly isn’t suitable for the area it’s installed in. I strongly do NOT recommend Evolve Home Services to anyone — especially homeowners in areas with hard water. Save yourself the stress, wasted time, and unexpected costs and go with a company that actually stands behind their rentals.

  • Horrible cheap overpriced equipment. Non-existent terrible customer service. Trey (a TERRIBLE customer service representative) is unprofessional and inexperienced. Avoid this company.

    Daria

  • Biggest money grab company ever! Try to not have any dealings and contracts with them.

    Mark R.

  • ⭐ 1 Star Review Be careful. Trey (Evolve, customer service representative) claims they are only a rental provider!! Meanwhile there company name is Evolve Home Services. Lie!!!! There is no service. Absolutely terrible experience with Evolve Home Services. We bought a tankless water heater from them less than two years ago, and it’s already leaking water. When we contacted them for help, they told us they won’t even service it and that we’re basically on our own. That’s completely unacceptable. A unit this new should not be leaking, and any reputable company would take responsibility or at least help their customers get it fixed under warranty. Instead, Evolve made it clear they want nothing to do with it once the sale is done. They were all smiles when selling us the system, but when there’s a problem, they disappear. Do not trust this company — they do not stand behind their products or customers. Save yourself the headache and go with someone who actually supports what they sell.

  • They tack on a $50/month "protection plan" charge without letting you know after two years. No mail. No phone call. Sleazy business practice.

    Firoz K.

  • Be careful when you sign the leasing document with Evolve for the water heater tank, you basically also sign up with a protection plan which would cost another $50 per month. Stay away from Evolve if you can.

    Devin L.

  • This company is a scam, started with 54$ per month and within 3 years they have started charging 70$ per month for hot water rental. Every year they increase 5-6$, much more than other providers. We had no way to negotiate anything as contract came with builder’s home. Stay away from them If possible. I have no problem with water tank but had chance to talk to customer service in past, waste of time.

    Chetan K.

  • I bought a new house with Countrywide Homes, they used Evolve as their HVAC provider. Evolve emailed me a contract, the term of the contract is 15 yrs @ $50 per month. I called them, they said that's the life of the hot water tank + their only billing method is pre-authorized debit. This is absolutely wrong and Countrywide Homes should consider changing providers.
