I've always thought you can tell how someone approaches their job by their appearance and how well they keep their workplace. When Blake came to do an estimate for my furnace replacement, he was neat, well-groomed and was dressed like the professional he is. His assessment of the job involved many more questions about my house than any other contractor that came over. The install was textbook clean & neat. And before he left, he reviewed everything with me from the furnace & humidifier operation to maintenance & thermostat settings. I would highly recommend Excel.

Blake got my AC working in 5 minutes after I was reassured by another tech that my unit was toast, and he made sure to explain what exactly broke. He'll be my go-to guy for my AC for as long as he can keep it going!

Blake recently repaired my Carrier furnace. He responded quickly, was competent, knowledgable and professional, and explained everything that he was doing, and gave me a quotation before doing the work. I highly recommend Blake and Excel Heating and AC.

Blake was amazing to deal with. I had a furnace issue that wasn’t easily resolved. I first dealt with the typical furnace company service arms but found myself pushed to consider a new furnace over keeping my existing 30 year old Carrier going. I used AI to find Blake and he was the number one recommendation. Blake’s business is to keep you going with your existing equipment as he carries all Carrier parts on his truck. No freezing overnight to come back the next day with the part. He only services Carrier so carries everything he needs with him. Blake was there when agreed and was extremely thorough in be running down the issue. Thank you, Blake for your great service.

I wish there was a way to rate higher. Honest, competent, experienced, prompt, fair, and skilled are the best words to describe Blake and my experience with him. No comparison with my previous experiences with his competitors. Thank you Blake for a great job, a fair price and an overall great experience on the major repair of my Carrier furnace.

My furnace stopped working on Christmas day and I called Excel heating whom I had used in the past. I must say that a professional job was completed. He was here in 2hr. Being on a holiday one would not expect. I highly recommend this company for heating and air conditioning problems or replacement. Has all the parts needed for Carrier furnaces.

Finding an honest heating and AC specialist can be hard, but Blake at Excel is the real deal. I've used him since 2016. He is prompt, does meticulous work, and explains everything clearly. Most importantly, he never tries to pressure you into buying things you don't need. He's earned my trust completely, and I'll be hiring him again when it's time to finally replace my 20-year-old furnace next fall.

Blake installed an air conditioning unit in my house in spring. His attention to detail and professionalism was really impressive. He did the entire install single handedly and didn't try to upsell needlessly like other big HVAC companies in the city. He identified that my furnace exhaust vent was corroded and fixed that too. It was refreshing to work with a guy who takes pride in his work and isn't gunning for reviews. I would recommend him to anyone for their HVAC needs.

Blake came to our rescue in January of 2024. After an awful experience with another company (trying to scare us into purchasing a whole new furnace, rather than honouring the special coverage Carrier has out for this specific model) a fellow HVAC man pointed us in his direction and we are forever grateful. Not only did Blake have the part on order prior to arriving, he was punctual, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. Our experience was 10/10 and I refer him any chance I get.

I called Blake to change out my primary and secondary heat exchanger on my furnace. He was at my house to do the job within 48 hours and had everything done within a few hours and at a reasonable price. He did a good job and was very efficient. I had some questions/concerns afterward and he even came back out to re-inspect the work for peace of mind. I highly recommend Blake and Excel heating!

Called Blake for a quote 2 weeks before the blower motor in my furnace quit working, got back to me the same day with a reasonable quote, and had the part in stock. My blower motor quit working last night called Blake he called me right back and was here early the next day. New blower motor is installed and I have heat again, thank you Excel! Highly appreciate and recommend Blake from Excel! Jan 13, 2025 - UPDATE - This morning my heat went out, I contacted Blake, and he gave me some simple things to try and resolve the issue. What can I say but Blake, is one of those repair technicians that knows his stuff, thank you again for amazing service Blake!

*Update after Excel's response: You think I miss heard something yet I had you on speaker phone? I read the fine lines unlike you. Maybe you need to be more transparent with your potential customers or be more up to date with Carrier's policy & warranty. I am just trying to be unfront and warn the others. Yet all you want to do is condescending. I will say this again, Blake. All exchangers are covered for 20 years by Carrier and they provide up to four hours of labour (up to $525). Original review: Want to share my experience with Excel (Blake). No need to read everything, but just need to say... do you own research before talking to him or else he will try to charge premium. Our conversation was over the speaker phone and observed by many. I worked with and worked for many companies and contractors that as soon as we get led to a blackhole...we run. We might have been nice to Excel over the phone, but we heard a lot stress and decide to not book anything despite he said that we need to book fast because he only has a spot tomorrow morning. Typical sales tactic. Blake was responsive and kind in the beginning of our phone conversation, however, quoted us over $900 for replacing primary and secondary heat exchangers. On top of that he wanted to charge us for the $150 diagnostic fee when we told him that it has been diagnosed by our HVAC friend and we are very well aware of the issue. We just wanted a Carrier authorized dealer, because we want to claim the recall warranty code. We already knew primary and secondary are covered by Carrier under extended warranty, yet we were quoted for $900. We asked Blake multiple times if the labour hours are covered but he dodged them few times and at the third time told us that Carrier covers small amount and the warranty is old. He got quite defensive about it and he said he also wants to replace the burners at the same time which will be $320 extra. I asked him why and he said that the flames might not be "not efficient" so it is a correct way to go eventhough I told him that the flames are good and checked out. So Blake quoted us for over $1,350 plus tax and told us that this is better than replacing the whole furnace cost of $6,000. I called around and spoke to Carrier Support about this and they said that this is not true and labour for secondary is covered and all parts are covered including primary heat exchanger. I got few quotes and they all came significantly lower (about 1/3 of the price for both heat exchangers) and went with a local Carrier authorized dealer. Thanks.

Just had Blake do a check up on my furnace. This is the second time I have used his service. He is honest and dependable and never tries to sell you on what you don't need. Before I contacted Blake the first time 2 other companies told me I needed a new furnace without even coming to look at it. When I contacted Blake for a quote of a new furnace he pretty much diagnosed the problem I was having over the phone and told me it could be fixed rather than replaced and that the parts were actually still under warranty. His work is very meticulous and tidy. There is nothing to do once he leaves. Would definitely recommend Excel Heating and Air Conditioning.
