Joseph is a very honest person with very affordable prices. I am so grateful that he answered my call at midnight and helped us fix our A/C problem; with the intense September heat, it is unbearable to try to sleep in 87-degree temperatures here in Greensboro. God bless you, Joseph , I recommend you 100%.

Joe at Fire & Ice responded to our emergent need to fix Non-cooling hvac system in our Rental Townhouse. Joe found a leak in our system, provided a temporary fix while getting a new inner coil and subsequently restored the unit to full service. He accommodated our tenants schedule needs and supported a courtesy call back for no charge

On Saturday, July 4, we returned home from watching fireworks to find that our air conditioner had stopped working. After doing some research and watching several instructional videos, my husband replaced the run capacitor on Sunday. The system worked perfectly on Sunday and Monday, so we thought the issue had been resolved. However, when we both arrived home from work on Tuesday, July 7, we walked into what felt like an oven. Although the thermostat was set to 72°F, it was reading 87°F inside the house. The outdoor unit appeared to be running properly, but the system was not cooling the home. I immediately began calling HVAC companies throughout the area. This was before most businesses had even closed for the day, and I understood that same-day service would likely only be available for emergencies. With four children in the home, including one with asthma, this was absolutely an emergency for our family. I even offered to pay any emergency service fees, but every company I contacted either had no availability or told me it would be several days—some not until the weekend—before a technician could come out. It was incredibly discouraging. I continued searching online and came across Fire & Ice. The very first review I read mentioned that a real person answered the phone immediately (not an automated system) and that a technician arrived within an hour. Although I was skeptical after the responses I'd already received, I decided to call. From the moment Joe answered the phone, the experience was exceptional. He was friendly, professional, and took the time to gather all of the necessary information. To my surprise, a technician arrived at our home in approximately 35 minutes. Joe immediately began diagnosing the problem and thoroughly explained every step of the process. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient with my countless questions, and genuinely took the time to ensure we understood exactly what was happening. Before performing any repairs, he provided a detailed estimate and explained the recommended work. If he discovered an additional issue during the repair, he stopped, explained the situation, discussed the associated cost, and waited for our approval before proceeding. We never felt pressured or surprised by unexpected charges. Our air conditioning was fully repaired in approximately two hours, and the quality of service exceeded every expectation we had. Outstanding customer service has become increasingly difficult to find, but Fire & Ice reminded us exactly what it should look like. Their professionalism, honesty, transparency, prompt response, and quality workmanship earned our trust from the very first visit. We cannot recommend Fire & Ice highly enough and will absolutely be using them for all of our future HVAC needs. While we're grateful our air conditioner is working again, we certainly hope we won't need their services again anytime soon! Thank you, Joe, and the entire Fire & Ice team, for turning a stressful situation into such a positive experience.

In the midst of the intense heat and holiday weekend, our AC unit started leaking and needed to be shut off. We called Fire and Ice like we always do for our home, and they were out to the house within hours. They not only identified and isolated the issue, but also fixed it in the same visit. They were so professional, fairly priced, and supportive in our time of need! Prompt response, prompt repair, and great customer service from beginning to end.

Joseph is very knowledgeable and timely. He spotted a device on my HVAC system that needed repair prior to the snowstorm coming and was able to order the part and get it repaired in time. My system properly heated the house during snowstorm.

Fire and ice were incredibly responsive as a company, for my non-urgent issue. They were able to schedule me next day. Joseph came out to the house + collected all relevant information about the specifics of our systems, we walked through the problems we've been having here with fresh air intake. After doing a thorough investigation of the AC systems, Joseph gave us four options at various price points and explain the pros and cons very clearly. We will definitely be doing business with this company going forward for all the AC needs.

Where do I even begin? My first interaction with this company was actually pleasant. Promising, even. Spoiler: it did not stay that way. Call #1: My propane logs wouldn’t turn off. Ice storm coming. I panicked. Joe showed up that evening, pointed out the knob inside the fireplace (since the remote switch box had likely died), and I happily paid the $125 service fee. No complaints. This visit isn’t even part of the real problem. Five days later: I come home to a thermostat reading 57 despite being set to 70. I call Joe again. He shows up the next morning, finds exploded batteries in the thermostat, replaces them, and says it might need replacing eventually. I pay another $125. Still fine. He even signs me up for the semi-annual maintenance plan. Great! Future business! Everyone wins, right?…Right? Two days later: Thermostat drops to 65. I go buy a new one at Lowe’s and call Joe back. He installs it, but when we try to register it, we get an error. “Already registered to another owner”. Honeywell is closed. Joe removes the new thermostat, reinstalls the old one, tells me to call Honeywell, and I pay yet another $125. Annoying, but whatever. I finally reached Honeywell later in the day and they inform me that registration only matters for app control, the installer could’ve fully installed it. I could’ve cleared the previous owner later. “The technician should have known that,” they said. Okay. Honest mistake…maybe. Two days later: Joe comes back to finally install the thermostat correctly. It works. I pay another service fee, but this time he gives me a “discount” and only charges me $62.50. This is visit #3 for the same issue, but sure. I pay it, despite being told that he should have known that he could have installed the thermostat initially. I digress… Three days later: My heat is reading 68 while set to 70. Again. Joe comes back. This time, FINALLY, he crawls under the house and discovers the actual problem: a bad wire. The unit is 5 years old and 100% under warranty. He says he’ll “only charge me the service call fee,” like he’s doing me a favor. At this point, I push back. He told me during visit #2 that you only pay one service fee for a single issue until it’s diagnosed—then you pay for parts. Well, we’re now at FOUR service fees for the same problem, and he never once went under the house until now. I ask him why I should pay anything when it’s under warranty—and more importantly, why he didn’t check the wiring in the first place? He gets furious. Tells me he’d have charged someone else $300+, and filing a warranty claim is “too much paperwork” for a “simple fix.” Then he tells me, and I quote: “never call me again for anything.” WOWZA! Gladly. I told him I promise I will never, EVER call Joe at Fire and Ice again. And honestly, unless you enjoy paying 4–5 service fees for someone to repeatedly NOT diagnose the problem, you might want to take my advice. Maybe this is their business model? Hard to say. But I won’t be finding out. Oh, and Joe? Remove me from the semi-annual maintenance list. Thanks. FOLLOW UP - You'd love to talk to me about my concern?? I am pretty sure you asked me never to call you again for anything. Furthermore, you didn't fix any "wire" on your 4th visit because the issue happened again. I called a different company who DID fix it AND I have a service agreement with them now. I'd like to thank you for NOT fixing my problem.

We have been looking for a heating and air company that we felt was trustworthy and dependable. We found that when Joe was recommended to us. He made sure we understood the problem and showed us the parts. He povided a recommendation on where to buy our filters at a local business and saved us money by doing so. He provided great customer service and was knowledgeable about our needs.
