• Update: September 2026. Another super job by a great company. I wanted to get my furnace its annual service. They were very accommodating and gave me an appointment the same day. They showed up right on time. Very professional and personable - even laughed at my jokes, which takes some doing. During the service, he discovered a part that had slightly more wear than expected - ordered the part and will be back to install it under warranty with no service charge. Again, working with John Sadler (a longtime family business) is just in a whole other league compared to the sketchy, hit and miss experiences I've had with "big box" franchise companies, who overcharge and under-deliver. Very satisfied! Original Review: FIVE GIGANTIC STARS!!! When my furnace stopped working, I phoned some of the "big guys" in the heating business, but thankfully also called John Sadler Plumbing and Heating, a family business (3 generations!). Indeed, Colin Sadler happened to pick up the phone when I called, and he was more than helpful, and spent much time answering my many questions, even on a Saturday. He promptly sent out Jordan, a highly-experienced technician, who confidently analyzed the problem (another company had misdiagnosed it and made me wait for 4 days in the cold for a part I didn't need). Jordan explained how the tricky installation would be accomplished without having to make any holes in the wall - another company had said that it would require opening up the ceiling and building another bulkhead. Colin gave me a quote for a quality, Canadian-made furnace and installation. He moved schedules around so that the job would be done ASAP (by that time I had been in the cold for over a week) and that Jordan would lead the installation. Later that day, Colin called back to let me know that, because of a new manufacturer's sale, I would be able to upgrade the furnace, and he even lowered the price slightly. Jordan and Noah showed up right on time, and did the removal and installation of the furnace perfectly. They had no issues with the ductwork and piping, which took thoughtful ingenuity on Jordan's part. They left the place spotless and the house warm. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to get honest quotes - another company had a 7% "administration fee" right where you would normally find PST on an invoice (there is no PST on furnaces) and hinted there might be extra costs if something came up during the installation. Colin's quote was exactly what I paid. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to have highly experienced, competent technicians like Jordan do the work - this will absolutely save you money and time and headaches. I really felt I could trust John Sadler Plumbing and Heating, and they went beyond my expectations. Fantastic work!
