First time is a charm . . . I used AA for residential plumbing today and was thoroughly pleased. I set up the appointment via their AI phone attendant last night at 7:30 p.m. for an 8 a.m. - 12 noon appointment today. Received a prompt email and text confirmation. Received confirmation phone call this morning at 9:53 with text confirmation again. The estimator arrived shortly thereafter and within 10 minutes I had an estimate (water heater replacement with customer-supplied heater) and approved the work. At 1:45 p.m. the two AA plumbers were walking out the door after sweeping my garage floor of debris. Within a few minutes I took a shower and headed to the office. Everyone on the job was exceedingly courteous and pleasant. They put stuff back where it belonged when they were done and didn't try to upsell me.

The Flo Tech device was installed with no problems. Josh took time to explain how it functions.

-
Excellent work. I have canceled our membership, however. Over $100 to replace a flapper valve in a toilet is robbery, in my opinion. I’ll go to Walmart and get one. This is not my first complaint about air assurance. Thank you for the work that you’ve done. DC

Scott performed the maintenance on our furnace without any problem. We had asked to have a new thermostat installed due to having a dysfunctional thermostat. We had some frustration until he discovered we had the wrong app. Once we solved that issue the installation was great. He was very patient and made sure it was installed before he left. The new thermostat is working great and the best one we ever had. We would not have been able to install this on our own. Thank you, Scott.

I guess Blue did alright, but I'm not sure. He's not very communicative. He asked where a particular sensor tube was when I showed him my furnace unit in the garage. I told him I didn't know I was supposed to tell him that. No other technician has ever asked that question. He felt around on a large, vertical PVC pipe that went from the unit into the ceiling. He was peeling back the black insulation. Finally, he removed the back cover of the furnace unit and found it. I must tell you, it doesn't inspire confidence when a technician doesn't know where to begin. I watched the entire process. Blue never once spoke or told me what he was doing or what the readings were. He sent photos later, but, as a homeowner and longtime customer, I expect the technician to do what Jerry Cunningham and Steve Edwards did for years. That's talk to me and explain what they're doing and act about halfway friendly. I'm still not certain this kid did a good job. I specifically asked the scheduler to send a more experienced technician. I even said to send the last guy who came because I prefer not to have a different tech every time. I also told the scheduler that my wife and I were considering getting the BBJ treatment, which I found out now is a different formula called Decon 7. I asked Blue if he had the BBJ, and he told me the company switched brands. He checked in his van. No Decon 7. Blue said he used his last bottle last Friday. That was last week. Monday's another week. Load what you need before you leave the shop, right? Overall, I'm not at all satisfied and I'd feel better if someone made sure he knew what he was doing. I've reviewed several of your techs since Air Assurance installed my HVAC system in March, 2014, and only two didn't receive a good review. You can check. Sometimes, I don't think your people read and take notes very well. I asked for an older, more experienced tech, and got a 23-year-old. Maybe your scheduler's 18. 23 would seem old, I guess. It may be the generation gap, but I believe a technician should explain what's going on. Nowadays, take a photo, push a button, and the customer gets a set of photos he knows jack about. Customer service. Consider the term. Service the unit, and edify your customer. That's customer service. Blue did some things, but I'm not too sure what, based on the way he began by groping around on the wrong PVC pipe. Find the name of the tech before Blue and send him next time. At least send someone who's interested in making your customer feel confident he's familiar with the equipment he's about to service.
