Max sized up my 30yr old furnace and A/C in 5min so his quote covered all the upgrades to bring his install up to code. No surprise extras that I was anticipating paying from the other quotes I received, so I decided to have him replace my hot water tank too. Couldn't believe how carefully he worked around my tight finished basement in a tiny 100yr old home. Such a well thought out install with tidy finishes on all the wiring and hoses. • Absolute scam. Told me there’s a leak in the system and both my condenser and evaporator coil had to be replaced because they were both leaking. He knew all this without even doing a leak search. Figured he was trying to sell me a new unit even though my ac was still under warranty, so he decided to top it up with refrigerant, charged me $400 and left and the next day my ac was still not working. • Last week my 20 years old Carrier Infinity furnace gave up. Of course, by the Murphy's Law, it always happens on the long weekend. But this furnace was really great for all these years, and, therefore, I wanted to replace it with the same Infinity model. I looked up heating contractors on the Carrier website. I called three companies and within few hours had three competitive quotes. However, Max was the only one who was willing to install it the same day, and I was sold out on this offer. It took him and his helper about 4 hours to complete the installation. I couldn't be happier but when the furnace was turned ON the existing Infinity controller didn't recognize it. That was a bummer because a quick search on Google tells me that the existing control is compatible with a new furnace. Turned out this was not true. I had no choice but to purchase a new Infinity Controller which is extremely expensive and costs more than many modern laptops. Even on the new one I had to update the software version to have it become fully functional. At the end of the day Max installed and setup a new Infinity controller and showed me all the features that it had. I'm grateful to Max for his willingness to listen and do what the customer asks. I sincerely hope that the new furnace will last as long as my previous one but if I ever need service I know that I can rely on Max with 10 years parts and two years labour warranty. Thank you, Max.
