  • I received an unsolicited phone call to schedule my water heater flush. Not only did I not request a water heater flush, I have never heard of Allen Service. Clearly, trying to slip one past me w this presumption. This UNETHICAL business practice eliminates them from servicing my home... forever. Don't fall for this trickery!

  • Very frustrating experience with Allen. I was promised a 16 SEER, 2-stage HVAC system with a WiFi thermostat, but they installed a 13 SEER single-stage unit and a basic thermostat. I only caught the mistake because I checked the equipment myself. They returned to replace the equipment but left without getting the system working—while still cashing my check for completed work. I then had to call and insist they send someone back. They’ve also repeatedly promised to schedule a duct cleaning but haven’t followed through. I’m still without a working HVAC system and highly regret choosing Allen.

  • Jon Harris gave me an estimate on the cost of replacing a mixer valve. He explained thoroughly the work that needed to be done and gave me a reasonable estimate. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable.

  • Zack Johnston was an outstanding representative of the company. Goy our AC unit going again. Prompt, professional, personable, hard working in every way. Will request him again!!!

  • DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. Insane markups for repairs and materials. I have a heat pump system that Now Heating installed merely 3 years ago, and Allen Service has since absorbed that company. The heat pump stopped working, and the service technician that Allen sent out said, "oh wow, you have a refrigerant leak and it looks like the welding on this install was really poor, that is probably contributing to the issue. Since this is an install issue, we should be able to cover most of it." I have since gone back and forth with the company, and finally got an estimate for a ~$7000 repair (despite them acknowledging it was an install issue, it doesn't seem to matter). The system itself cost $11k new, so now they're essentially asking me to buy a whole new system. To add insult to injury, they said the refrigerant alone would cost $2,700 for 8 pounds, which is a 300-1800% markup for what it should cost (based on commercial vs wholesale price). Absolutely insane business practices, do not use this shady, shady company

  • Allen services used to be great, but lately they have been very disappointing. We have a membership to have scheduled maintenance with Allen services, and we scheduled a plumbing inspection several months in advance. The day of the inspection, I called for a time window of when the technician would be arriving, and they canceled the service and wanted to push the appointment out by four months for absolutely no reason. If we had known this was going to be the case, we would have used a different company. I would not recommend using Allen services to anybody that I know. Please save yourself the trouble and call anybody else.

  • Do yourself a favor and call someone else. The first time I had them out, they were great. Talked me into a service program and everything. Fixed my leaking toilet no problem. They second time I called them for a leaking spigot. I had a plumber door to access it from the inside and asked if they could cut the hole to fit the door. They said that they don't do that and destroyed my sheet rock to the point of needing to replace the wall to accommodate the plumber door. They cut the hole that big. The area they needed to work on the spigot was 1 foot square. The hole i got is 2 foot, jagged, semi circular. They looked around and told me i needed an expansion tank on my water heater. Got it. It was pricey but they said i needed it. They said nothing about needing a water pressure regulator also. So a few months goes by and my 2 year old hot water heater and the new expansion tank are ruined. They come out and tell me that if i had a water pressure regulator that wouldn't have happened. So i purchased a new water heater with the water pressure regulator and another new expansion tank. Very expensive. Since they were here, i asked them about a slow drain i had in my laundry room. They snaked it for an hour which put a hole in my pipe. Then they charged me almost $500 to put an outside patch on it. Literally put a film and some ring clamps over the hole they caused and charged me. Plus a "tight place" fee. Winter came and we're in the service program so they came to look at my furnace for the season. Knew nothing about my furnace. Fast forward a year and the new hot water heater isn't working and they have no one that can come look at it for another week. It's under warranty but i have to call someone else because they aren't available for a week. I didn't complain when any of this happened. I'm telling you now so you can find at good plumber or hvac and not deal with what i have been through with them.

  • I had a very frustrating experience with Allen Plumbing. I initially called and gave a very detailed explanation of my issue, which involved a jetted tub repair. I specifically confirmed that they had certified plumbers who could handle this type of work. I was told yes and an appointment was scheduled. On the day of the first appointment, they sent an electrician instead of a plumber, as requested. He was just as confused as I was and confirmed he was not the right person for the job. When I followed up with the company, they did not acknowledge their mistake and instead told me—rudely—that the soonest they could send the correct person was five days later. On the day of the second appointment, which was scheduled for the morning, I never heard from anyone. When I called near the end of the schdeuled window, it took a long time for them to even find my account. I was told I would “get a call from dispatch at some point today.” As of 3:00 PM, no plumber has arrived and I have not received any update or ETA. Between the scheduling errors, lack of accountability, poor communication, and unprofessional responses, I have very little confidence that this company can competently or reliably fix my issue. I would not recommend based on this experience.

  • Very unreliable!! I took their elite membership as they gave me a deal, started using their service. Then I had a water leak in my house and requested an emergency appointment. They gave a 4 hour window but never showed up.. Totally disappointed.. Will cancel and never use their service again

  • Michael was polite, professional, & resolved the issue with my water heater. He was able to get the pilot light ignited (after several failed attempts on my behalf). He allowed 30 minutes to assure the hot water returned. A+ to Michael & ty! My only rant is having to wait 4 days for service.

  • They are price gouging now, don’t ever use this company, never seen a quote so high for such simple tasks

  • This company (Allen) charged me $320.25 and $89.00 dispatch and diagnostic fee, totaling to $408.25 to tell me they don't know what is wrong with my water heater. In addition, came up with some mumbo jumbo theory or story about pipe diameter which in fact is not the problem. In conclusion, they charged me $408.25 for a misdiagnosis. This company should not have charged me if they did not know. However, they did issue a refund for the diagnostic fee.

  • This is Real Talk. Unfortunately it happens a lot more than we even know. U got some deep rooted issues. And truly man or woman up and Be Resl with how feel , and turn around and walk away

  • **UPDATE** This review was written BEFORE Quality 1st Service Group became Allen Service. I have had a ONE-STAR experience with Allen Service - proceed with caution people! I highly recommend Stephan with Quality 1st Service Group! I received multiple bids for a large sewer line replacement project and Stephan got the job because of competitive pricing and the best customer service. Quality 1st went above and beyond!

    Amy E.

  • My technician Carson was so prompt and helpful. I think the company in general was really responsive which I appreciated but he went above and beyond. He worked through my broke sink issue and was informative along the way. He was extremely polite and efficient. I would absolutely ask for him again!

    Dorothy G.

  • So far, an absolutely great experience.Someone actually knows his business! Getting complete new system installed next week.

    Tom B.

  • Brian and Micheal came out promptly and saved the day for me! My 50 year old condo needed service immediately and they delivered! Professional, courteous, quality work, fair price! I recommend this company whole heartedly. Ask for Brian and Michael!

  • I would never use this company! Their supposed technician brian small came out to work on my wife's house and they ended having a relationship. He is a married man and basically ruined my marriage. Not only that but he showed up over at the house last year while was there. I never heard about or met this person and when I asked my wife, who is this person she claimed an old friend??? He was doing drugs and drinking while he was there and when he started talking disrespectful and down to my wife I called him out on it. While my back was turned to show my concerns to my wife, he attacked me. He knew I am a disabled veteran but he still hit me from behind and then grabbed a steel lawn chair and proceeded to hit me with it and ended up breaking my foot. I called a complaint into his office and received a call back from someone claiming to be his supervisor but would not give his name. He was non cooperative in solving my issues so I was forced to write this review. I warn all of you about this employee Brian small who is still employed by the company after a formal complaint was made and on top of that, the job he was hired initially was hired to do wasn't completed satisfactory.

    Jonny C.

  • Pete was great...even though there was miscommunication and misunderstanding from the initial call he stuck around and did his diligence to try and solve my problem.

    Nick B.

  • Cole, the technician was very professional and explained everything.

    Terri M.

  • Dishonest company with dishonest practices. The sales rep, Travis, falsely claimed work was need to comply with city restrictions. On the day of repair the work was not completed and the service manager, DJ, refused to give any discount for work not completed. They refuse to meet the contractual agreement for the repair. The repair was $23,000 which was overpriced and we only agreed to because of the urgency of the repair and based on the scope of work which was not necessary so never completed. The other issue was a nightmare caused by constant inaccurate documents. The total incompetence of the staff caused a 6 day delay in the emergency sewer repair. After being ripped off by this company and waiting over a week for an emergency repair, I am upset that I didn't use another company. This company is dishonest and incompetent. Beware, find someone else!
