We've had wonderful experiences with Boehm over the years. For many years they maintained our old boiler and were always prompt and professional. They recently replaced our boiler and we were again impressed with their quality of work and attentiveness to detail. We strongly recommend them.

From when I called for an appointment to when I met the owner for an estimate to replace our hvac system, I was put at ease and could tell this was a trustworthy business. I chose Boehm after getting 3 other estimates from companies you might see on TV and I know I made the right choice. On install day, not only was Tom incredibly kind and an expert at his job, he also cleaned up some shoddy work another contractor left without even being asked. He gave me all the info I needed about the furnace, the AC and the wifi controller we had already purchased but couldn't install previously due to lack of one wire. I felt comfortable leaving Tom and his teammate there while I needed to run an errand and they assured me from the start that someone would always be there - they would not leave the house unoccupied. In addition to replacing the hvac, they were also able to provide several helpful recommendations for contractors they work with on larger jobs. All around, I'm super impressed with Boehm's staff and service and I'm so glad I found them! THANK YOU!

Super friendly and speedy service! AC went out and Bill @ Boehm came out and fixed it within 30 minutes. I asked if I should be getting a new unit vs repairing and he walked me through the pros and cons of each. I purchased a new furnace from Boehm a few years ago. These guys are great!

Tl;dr version-- Boehm is honest, clear, transparent, fast, thorough, and earned my business forever. Stay small, stay local, stay smart, St. Paul neighbors. Longer version-- had a big HVAC company out (won't name names but it starts with a D and rhymes with "eans") to look into a dead heating zone and check over the boiler. Their take: either $1700 gas valve replacement or $18,000 boiler replacement pronto or your family's probably gonna die." Called Boehm, person who answered the phone (directly) said "yep, probably dead zone valve. I'll have someone come out this afternoon. That boiler's only in the middle of its lifespan, don't think we'll be talking replacement unless you have some specific reason you'd want to." Very clear, direct, deadpan HVAC tech, 10min after looking at the unit: "Dead zone valve. Part's $190, I'm $189/hour and it'll take me an hour. Probably needs a new thermocoupler so that'll be $60. Rest looks fine." 30min later: "burner actually looks new so good news I can save you 60 bucks on that thermocoupler after all" LOL after the morning I just had looking at financing an 18k boiler replacement, or funeral costs if I don't, just take the 60 and say you did it, brother.

I never like it when I have to call them, but when I do I am always so impressed with their service and just how nice they are. My scenario -20 degrees, house is not getting close to 60. It is a friday, 2:50 pm i call on the way to a doctor's appt. They say they can send someone right over. I give them the lock code and they show up. At 3:45 I return and find 2 trucks. The second one came to deliver parts. I go down stairs and they say, we are just finishing up and while he was waiting for the parts he did the every other year tune up because he was there. Saving me money this spring. By 4:15 they were done, less than 1.5 hours after i called. I have used them for over 30 years because my grandpa used them for the 30 years before then. It should not be a surprise to get exceptional service, but when you get it, you know it. Thank you.

Tech came out and got our furnace up and running but mentioned it might be time for a new furnace and we could take advantage of $1,000 rebate. We received our estimate and decided to proceed. Boehm submitted paperwork for permit and rebate. All done in a timely manner. Local, timely and professional.

Could not be happier with Bohem. I had a boiler that stopped working in freezing weather, and Jeff and his son Colby were at my house within hours to troubleshoot. They worked efficiently, and were extremely honest and transparent with my options and took the time to help explain what was going on. 100% will be using them again. First time I haven’t felt bent over by an HVAC company.

Lifesaver on a cold Saturday night in January! When the furnace goes out on a Saturday evening and the forecast is 0 Fahrenheit overnight … you really want someone responsive and reliable. Plus, in our chilly house last night we had a man with a pain condition that can flare up for weeks if he gets chilled, and also our poor old cat in her last days. So you know how great it was for me to reach a highly organized answering service for Boehm’s, then get a timely call from the repair tech, then have him arrive and be very knowledgeable and kind, and then have him keep at it until our boiler was working perfectly. We were so very thankful, and would choose Boehm’s again for any repair. When we eventually need a new furnace, they’ll be our first call for an estimate. We paid $350 plus parts for an emergency call with Boehm’s, and it was money well spent!

Really pleased with the family-run business of Boehm Heating & Air. They replaced our 1950s hot water boiler with a newer, more efficient model at a fair price and on schedule. This is a most calm competent place I've had the pleasure to deal with here in Saint Paul. When my ancient boiler failed about 5 years ago, they replaced the whole system in less the 18 hours. In winter. Just now they sent a tech who did a "pre-winter" check for less than $200. Including carbon monoxide test, water pressure check, thermo check, replace leaking relief valve, drain and clean system +++ I like Boehm.

Boehm is a great combination of old school personal service and top notch employees who know exactly what they are doing. We looked at several vendors for a new furnace and heat pump and Boehm did the best job of explaining how big of a system we needed and gave us a very fair price. The installers were prompt and courteous. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure we were comfortable with the new electronic thermostat and overall functioning of the equipment. Even the inspectors had high praise for Boehm. When one inspector had a quick question, he already had the contact numbers in his phone. I highly recommend working with Boehm for any of your HVAC needs.

I actually didn't use Boehm for servicing my house, but after my interactions with them, I can only imagine they'll be fantastic. I had water leaking under my furnace and had checked the ac condenser drain, all seemed fine. I wasn't sure what to do, so I called Boehm. They answered and were ready to send someone out, but talked me through a couple of troubleshooting ideas. They booked a tech to come out the next day if the troubleshooting didn't work. The next day, my issue was gone, and I called back to cancel - they were more than happy to help me over the phone which I did not expect!

After getting several bids for replacing my 50 year old boiler I went with Boehm for the following reasons: 1. Family owned since 1945. The owner Jeff Boehm, came to my house to look at the job and make the bid. We had a good discussion on systems and options. His knowledge on heating systems spans a lifetime and is extensive to say the least. 2. His bid was competitive. 3. Boehm customized the installation to my request adding stubs and valves for a planned third heating zone and a boiler-fired water heater. 4. The workmen, Chris and Nick, were highly skilled, completed the big job within a day, and made all the additions I asked for. 5. Boehm’s reputation in the twin cities is renowned. The final bill matched the bid.

We had Boehm Heating replace our boiler which Boehm Heating installed in 1980 for the previous owner of our house. Boehm Heating has performed excellent regular maintenance on our boiler many times since 1989. After 45 years, it was time for a new boiler. They provided a detailed, honest estimate for new Well MacClain boiler. His crew arrived on time, very respectful, professional. They are highly knowledgeable with respect to building code compliance and boiler / hot water heat systems which can be a challenge for a 93 year old house. They gave us a walk thru of the boiler and new controls, explained what we need to check in the Fall for the heating season, etc. I highly recommend Boehm Heating.
