• We had several companies quote replacing our oil furnace with a heat pump, and Mike and Brent were fantastic from beginning to end. Not only were they very competitively priced, but while other companies were quoting lead times of four to six months, they were able to get us scheduled in about three weeks. Another company was recommending a significantly more expensive system that was noisy enough that we would have needed sound blankets because of the proximity of our neighbors. Mike and Brent came up with a much better solution for our house. They removed the old oil furnace and had the new heat pump installed in less than three days, including all of the custom sheet metal work needed to marry the existing ductwork to the new system. What impressed me most, though, was how they handled a small miscommunication that came up during the installation. Things happen on projects, and to me the real measure of a company is how they respond when they do. They immediately worked with me to resolve it and went out of their way to make it right. They clearly know their craft extremely well, were a pleasure to have working at our house, and we’ve now been living with the system for four months. It has been absolutely fantastic. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

• We had a great experience with Mike and Cloud9 HVAC. They replaced our old oil heating system with a heat pump system using our existing ducts, and installed a mini split in a hot, attic-like upstairs room. Mike was friendly, knowledgeable, and never felt pushy. What stood out was his honesty. We were planning to pay to have a vent and duct moved, but after starting the work, he realized it would actually be more efficient to leave it where it was—and didn’t charge us for the time he had already spent. Cloud9 also offered both floor and wall-mounted mini splits, which was helpful for our unusual upstairs space. The two-person team worked hard, and the installation went smoothly. They were also the best price we found, and Mike handled all of the Seattle City Light rebate paperwork for us. • Brent is the worst. I called him on Tuesday to help with my mini split that has a micro leak. I explained that last year it stopped blowing cold air and an HVAC tech couldn’t find a leak but topped it off with less than 1 lb. of coolant and it worked great all year. He said that he could come out on Friday and that he needed to send me a quote to approve. He said it would be “low cost” and I would receive it that night. He didn’t send it. The next day he text me in the morning saying he’d send it today. He didn’t send it. The next day I called him and he said “I’m working on it now”. Again, he didn’t send it. He called me later that day and said it will be about $800 - do much for “low cost”. I told him the tech last year charged me $200. He asks that I send him that invoice (I did) and drops his price in half to $400. The next morning I ask what time he’s coming and he cancels on me saying his margins are too low. What?!? Now I’m scrambling to find an HVAC tech before temps hit the mid 80s tomorrow.

The whole team was super friendly, professional, and made the process really easy from start to finish. After the install, we thought one of the vents might be leaking from condensation, and they came back multiple times to check it out. Each time being patient, thorough, and genuinely wanting to make sure everything was perfect. Turns out it wasn’t the venting atl all it was our fridge leaking! But they never made us feel bad for calling, and they still took the time to make sure we were comfortable and everything was working right.
