  • Absolute criminals. They are only interested in making more and more money from you. Installed a $20K a/c unit at our café and less than a year later said it needed a different part that obviously wasn’t covered under warranty. We also tried them fix a beverage cooler. Their solution was to replace it with a $15K unit. Bought from them of course. Save your money. Used Summit HVAC and refrigeration. Wish we had known about the. Sooner. Best in the business.

  • I just got a dual heating system from CustomAir and, I have to say, I couldn’t have had best service. It was easy to see that everyone had my best interest and comfort in mind. Everything was explained and I know that I can call them if I have questions. Thank you CustomAir.

  • The Custom Air experience was excellent!! The installer was on time and courteous as well explained the system in detail as the new furnace was a different type than we had previous. The costing was amazing compared to the other quote we received...we saved a few thousand dollars!! We booked this through Home Depot and were able to finance over three years with no interest on our Home Depot Card...another bonus...I would highly recommend Custom Air...

  • The team from customer air arrived on time and immediately got to work. They also responded to questions I had regarding the operation of the new air conditioner. I appreciate their professionalism. Thanks, Tom

  • Your installers showed up at the appointed time. They worked without taking any breaks other than to have lunch, and even that was done quickly! They were courteous and informative. They approached me with any changes that were significant. I would highly recommend Custom Air for all heating and ventilation needs. Sincerely, Aidaan Gaudet.

  • Obnoxious drivers! One of your drivers almost caused a wreck at 4:45pm today (April 10/24) on Leckie near Canadian Tire in Kelowna. Needs a lesson in anger management to learn to control his road rage!

  • Bought a new furnace when they were still Britech in November 2021, was working ok until the first cold snap in October 2022 when it registered an error cold for a shorted pressure sensor on 1st stage heat. They sent a service technician out and he said they couldn’t find any issues. Fast forward to this past October 2023 and the same issue happened again with the first cold snap, cycled the furnace with the on/off switch and it seemed to work ok until this morning the exact same issue happened again. Called them to come and fix the issue, however they stated that because my 1 year warranty on labour expired in December 2022, I would have to pay for the labour to have the diagnostic/repairs done. If they had actually fixed the issue during my warranty period I wouldn’t be out of pocket for the repairs. Completely ridiculous and they are skirting around the warranty saying that it’s 2 years since my purchase even though the condition was known before the warranty had expired but their tech couldn’t “fix” it. Do not use this company for your HVAC needs. Hopefully the new central air unit I purchased from them just before replacing the furnace lasts.

  • This review is for the Penticton office of "Custom Air" who I was connected with when I attempted to call MAVCO who I had hired before. The issue that they were called to fix, was not fixed. They did install 2 thermostats one of which was unnecessary. Both cost much more than anywhere else I could find online. One cost me $570, and the better model could be found as low as $220, or as high as $350 online. When I questioned the cost of these, they said that I needed to ask the price before I had them installed and the technician would contact their pricing department for a quote. We did ask the technician, who said they would be between $100 and $200. The business did not seem to care that they are overcharging and misquoting and insisted on charging me full price, would not offer any return or refund. As well, the company was unable to fix the issue that I had. Essentially, I found this business to be unscrupulous and uncaring, and the technician only partially competent. I gave 2 stars because he was able to install thermostats and clean the coil successfully. I would suggest to get any suggestion of cost of parts from them in writing. Also ask about a "truck fee" and cost of cleaning products which were also marked up over 100% more than at a home supply store. Basically I felt ripped off and ignored.

  • My heat pump wasn't running properly so I had britech come look at the system. The technician touched my supply/return lines and told me I had a leak. I was then told the system needed to be pressure trested, leak fixed and recharged. The system had a full charge when checked with guages and required a reversing valve but the technician couldn't be bothered to listen to the issue or diagnose the problem. I was still however charged for wasting my time.

  • This company is dishonest!!!!! We first used custom air when we had a furnace installed by Home Depot. They were the contractors that Home Depot uses and we were quite pleased with the work as well as the price point. The next summer because we were happy with them we contacted them to have a look at our air conditioning as it was not blowing very much air. Cold air was coming but not much of it. The technician came and kept looking for a leak in the coil. I told him repeatedly that the air coming out is cold. It’s just not a lot of air. He continue to look for a leak, and initially couldn’t find one so he filled our line with nitrogen thereby making our entire air conditioning that was working moderately, completely useless. We had agreed on a $129 an hour fee and a $35 callout fee for the van. When we got the bill it was over $900, they gave us an estimate for a further $4000 to fix a leak in the coil. They said additional $400 in charges were put on our bill because they had to use their tools and equipment while at the job site! No parts were used, nothing was repaired. The estimator was at our house for 2 1/2 hours so we would’ve expected a bill of 320, plus taxes plus the $35 van fee. However, we were then told the van fee is for maintaining their van! and we had to pay for an extra hour for him driving to our house. We live in a relatively central location. We strongly disputed the bill especially since they did not address the fact that our air was not blowing very forcefully. Eventually they gave us back $390. We would not use this company again so we asked another company to come in. They found that there was no leak in our system and gave us a reasonable explanation why our older house does not have much air pressure. They did a few things to fix it, so it works well enough, we had to pay to get the nitrogen removed and the system recharged. Had we been foolish enough to go with the $4000 quote from custom air It would’ve changed nothing in our air conditioning quality. They were very specific on their estimate to note that if this didn’t fix the problem we would be paying more for them to continue to find the problem. We’ve sent many letters and will be suing them through the BC tribunal process. Save yourself a headache and go with an honest company. These people are crooks.

  • Our experience with Britech , a Division of Custom Air was very positive. Starting with residential sales (Troy), office staff (Lori), and finally the installers (Rob and Brian). All were very friendly and extremely professional. They quickly responded to any questions we had throughout the process and we also really appreciated that they were able to give us options to find an A/C unit that fit both our size requirements and budget. Would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. Many thanks for your amazing service.

  • Second time we've used their services and both times impressed with speed and quality

  • Although they got the job done, they sold me and installed some very expensive thermostats I did not need as I already had newer, better models installed.

    Riyn M.

  • I found the quote acceptable and priced right with no overselling of options (like AirMiles, extended service plans or warranties). The pre-installation assessment person and the installers were professional and accurate in their assessment. The installers were very open to my questions and provided me valuable information. I am confident that I made a good choice for my new furnace.

  • Britech came in for an estimate of a furnace installation in my townhome. Troy was very informative with the new system that would work best or my situation. He left information on the equipment as well as rebate information. The installation date was less than two weeks from when I called to make an appointment. Rob and Brian were early on the day of installation and respectful of my home. They were both very courteous and went over the install as well as how to use the new thermostat and what photo to take for the submission of the rebate. I would highly recommend them.

  • Right from the start of the quotation to the final installation the people and their work was above and beyond that one would expect. • We have been using Britech HVAC services to maintain our Furnace and Air Conditioner for over 12 years and we have always been completely satisfied with the service they have provided. The technicians are well informed and very professional as they go about their jobs in a pleasant, friendly way. This year we had our fireplace serviced in addition to the furnace and air conditioner and the work was once again very thorough and well done.
