  • Today we had a new thermostat installed that we purchased in advance. We felt better about having a professional install it than attempting ourselves. We called Hy-Mark because of excellent service we received years ago when we were abandoned by another service provider in the cold winter months without hot water. The service today, provided by a third party contractor (?) was a real disappointment in comparison. They arrived in an unfamiliar vehicle, branded under a different company name, and explained the $500 charge to install the thermostat. I was shocked at the price, questioned why it wasn’t provided to us in advance, so I called the office and a helpful rep quickly offered me a $30 discount which I accepted. The tech proceeded to try and upsell us to a more expensive thermostat unit. We declined. They tried to sell us a monthly service package, which we declined. Then they offered to service our furnace for an additional for $280 which we declined. The actual service time was less than 30 mins. The tech made us uncomfortable with their high pressure sales tactics in our home and documenting our home with photos. We paid $500 for 30 mins of work and 30 mins of sales. It felt like we let a sales person into our home, not an HVAC technician. They left the furnace panel off the unit and left. With the exception of our current contract for our hot water heater, we don't plan on working with or recommending Hy-Mark in the future. I’m nervous about future dealings if we run into issues with our hot water tank. It’s disappointing but we’re prepared not to get scammed and look for alternatives.

  • Terrible customer service. I made an appointment on Feb 25 for Apr 21. I was sent an email confirmation the night before saying the timeframe for someone to come would be 8-11am. The time passed and nobody came. I called the number that is on the confirmation email and nobody picked up the phone. It says “we’re busy helping other customers” and asks you to leave a voicemail, which I did. Nobody ever called me back. I also called 10 more time with the same “we’re busy assisting other customers”. I also sent 2 emails and my fiance also sent 1, with no response. Do not use this company. The definition of a scam. Also extremely inconsiderate of peoples time and schedules.

  • If it were possible to give 0 stars, I would. Unfortunately for me, this is the company my builder decided to use for our furnace. I have been without heat for a couple of days now with young kids, all because it is impossible to get in contact with anyone from this company. The phone goes straight to a full voicemail (it has been full for days), and the email listed on their site returns an error message. I honestly feel like I’m being pranked because there’s no way a company should be operating like this in 2026.
