On a Sunday when 2 A/C units stopped AJ was here within an hour, blew out the clogged lines and put us back in business. Great guy, great service.

Great experience with Independent HVAC! AJ and Seth came out to replace the coil in our attic and did an excellent job. They were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly throughout the entire process. They took the time to explain what they were doing, worked efficiently, and made sure everything was working properly before they left. I’ve known the owner for years. You won’t find a more honest outfit in North Texas.

Kevin was great to deal with and very knowledgeable about my issues - especially after talking with some other companies prior to Independent HVAC. He was upfront about everything and communicated well. AJ and Seth performed the work and were both punctual and professional the entire time. It’s good to see folks take pride in their work these days like these 2 did. Highly recommend!

AJ arrived right on time—on the early side of the arrival window—and was extremely professional from start to finish. I have to admit that many of the problems he faced while fixing my air conditioning unit (during 105+ heatwave) were probably of my own making (through neglect). Even so, he stayed humble and nonjudgmental, taking the time to explain what he was doing and why it was necessary. No pressure at all. Very trustworthy—and it came well under what I had budgeted. Highly recommend and will be using them again.

What are breath of fresh air (No pun intended). After having two different contractors out to service and address issues with our two systems, we finally connected with Independent HVAC. They were very prompt with getting us on the schedule and we were able to diagnose issues that should have been caught by the other contractors. AJ serviced our units and he was a great professional. I now have our priority HVAC contractor for our home needs. Highly recommend.

They scheduled and had a tech at my house in under an hour. Seth was able to fix my unit and advise on future safety precautions. Prices were very fair, no attempt at upselling beyond fixing the problem at hand. Will definitely be my first call for HVAC service in the future.

About Independent HVAC Solutions
Ductwork and equipment retrofits for older homes are among the first jobs Independent HVAC Solutions names, next to system design for new residential construction. The company is based in Van Alstyne, Texas. It says it handles residential and light commercial heating and cooling across North Texas.
Van Alstyne homes and the towns around them
Van Alstyne is in Grayson County. Utility gas heats 51% of homes in town, per the American Community Survey (2024). NOAA normals for 1991-2020 give a mean temperature of 63.6°F, an average high of 73.2°F and an average low of 54.0°F.
The company names a wide run of towns it works in: Sherman, Anna, Melissa, McKinney, Prosper, Celina, Frisco and Denton. It also points to communities in Collin, Dallas, Denton and Grayson counties.
Repair, replacement and maintenance agreements
By its own account, the company repairs and services air conditioning, furnaces and heat pumps. It also replaces complete residential systems. Preventative maintenance agreements are part of the offer, and so is light commercial HVAC service.
The retrofit work is the more specific line. Older homes often need duct changes and equipment swaps rather than a straight like-for-like replacement, and the company lists that work by name. New-construction design is the other end of the same range.
A 5.0 from 19 Google reviews, weekday hours
The company holds a 5.0 rating on Google from 19 reviews. It keeps weekday hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, and is closed on weekends.
Reviewers mention fast arrival most often, in several cases within the hour. They also describe technicians who explain the repair while they work. Others say the pricing was fair with no push to add work beyond the fix, and a few say earlier contractors had missed problems that this crew diagnosed.
Independent HVAC Solutions is a Lennox Premier Dealer and works under Texas license TACLA140171C.
One reviewer describes an attic coil replacement, and another credits the company with balancing the airflow in their home.
Services, brands and warranty details come from the company's own website. Ratings, hours and reviews come from Google. Town figures come from the US Census and NOAA.
