  • Borderline criminal business. Our HVAC system was not working at all. Guy comes out, within 30 seconds he's telling me we have mold and asking if I want to install a $1,700 UV light. Takes a look at things, tells me the cheapest option to get everything up and running would be $1,500, but says that this would probably be wasted money and I should instead buy a replacement system. He shows me the options. One is $20,000 and the other is $23,000, which is about double the price of everyone I've spoken to who has had a system replaced. I get a second opinion. New guy says it's probably not mold in the attic, and then he goes out to the outdoor unit, finds an unplugged cable, and throws a new fuse on the system. Charged me for the service call and that was it. It was $89 for the second guy when "Mr. Reliable" was telling me it would be $1,500 minimum while he's trying to sell me systems I don't need for upwards of $20,000. Stay far away from these crooks.

  • Disappointing Experience with Mr. Reliable – Lack of Customer Loyalty I purchased a new AC system from Mr. Reliable in 2025 for nearly $10,000, including a membership. Unfortunately, less than a year later, I began experiencing problems with the AC not cooling, in April. Mr. Reliable came out to repair it, and I thought the issue had been resolved. However, in September, the AC went out again, and I was informed that I now needed a new furnace at an additional cost of $6,500. I understand that an HVAC system consists of different components and that parts can fail. My frustration is not simply about having to replace the furnace. It is the fact that replacing the furnace was never recommended when my new HVAC system was installed or during subsequent service visits. Despite experiencing multiple problems with my AC, I was never given recommendations on how best to maintain my system, whether the furnace might need replacing, or what options I should consider to prevent future issues. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that Mr. Reliable is currently advertising a promotion offering a free furnace with the purchase of a new AC. When I asked whether I would qualify for the promotion, given that I had already spent nearly $10,000 with the company and had experienced repeated problems, I was told the promotion was only available to customers purchasing an AC in 2026. I understand that promotions have terms and conditions, but I expected some consideration for a customer who had recently made such a significant investment and was now facing another expensive repair. Instead, I was told that they could not offer me a free furnace but could reduce the price from $6,500 to $5,500 with my membership discount. I am extremely disappointed with the reliability of the system and the customer service I have received. After spending nearly $10,000 on a new AC, having it fail twice within a relatively short period is unacceptable to me. The lack of flexibility or meaningful customer-retention incentives has only added to my frustration. I informed the company that I would be obtaining a second, and possibly a third, estimate before making any decision to purchase from them again. Based on my experience, there is very little incentive to remain a repeat customer. I expected better quality, reliability, and customer service from a company I trusted with such a significant purchase. Unfortunately, my experience has left me questioning whether I would ever do business with Mr. Reliable again.

  • Our service technician, Edgar, has been to our home several times and always gives us very detailed information and feedback about our HIVAC systems which is very informative and easy to understand. He is very professional and friendly. It is always a pleasure seeing him and knowing we will get a honest assessment regarding working order of our systems. We highly recommend Edgar and Mr. Reliable Air Conditioning. We have used four companies in the past 30 years and Mr. Reliable has been the best for knowledge and professionalism of the service technicians and the cost of their equipment.
