My heat pump is not working the way I expected. You came to check it out to make sure it was working properly. My home is keeping too warm and sometimes the air comes on when it's cooler outside then the 26.5 i have set. I'm now opening windows when it's cooler outside which is most of the time. I think I read on the internet that I should not open windows with a heat pump. But the temperature outside is below the temperature. I have set at twenty 26.5 for the air to come on. The problem is I am continually monitoring my temperature. All day. Didn't solve my problem, but gave me some answers. The person you sent will report this to Efficiency. Manitoba who told me to expect bills to be 40% lower hopefully they can do something to lower my bills. I expected, my bill this time to be much lower. This last bill was one of the higher bills that i've had since I recorded since 2021. I have tried many things to lower my bills. Everything is electric, and I replaced all my windows with triple pane. Windows, blocked all the spaces they told me where I was loosing heat. When you came out to do the install they blocked some openings where there was previously a gas furnace. I thought that would lower my bill and it hardly even touched it. Thanks for coming out.

Recently our air conditioner started leaking water. I called North 49 and rather than send a technician ($$) the person on the phone was able to diagnose the issue and walk me and my partner thru fixing it ourselves. Super refreshing to find a company with integrity and whose employees have the skills to communicate with dumb dumbs like us, instead of taking the opportunity to gouge us for a quick buck. Very impressed. Will definitely contact North 49 for future needs.

They were swamped with house calls and booking into the next few weeks so the person on the phone talked me through my issues with our furnace. He actively saved me hundreds and hundreds of dollars by being a good person, asking me questions, giving me suggestions, providing solutions and did so to prevent additional flooding in my basement out of the kindness of his heart.

Very disappointing experience. I appreciated that North 49 was able to send a technician on short notice, but I do not feel the $140 diagnostic charge reflected the service provided. The technician checked the refrigerant pressures and visually looked at the furnace, but I did not observe any electrical testing, cleaning, or meaningful troubleshooting beyond that. The inspection and testing sections on the invoice were also left blank. I was then advised that there were three additional troubleshooting options that could total approximately $1,000, with no guarantee the problem would be identified, and that replacing the AC unit might be the better option. I was told I would receive the different options by email the following day, but no follow-up was ever provided. During extremely hot weather, this lack of communication could have caused a serious issue if the AC had remained out of service. I ultimately found and repaired the problem myself by replacing a $15 wire. Considering the limited inspection, the issue not being diagnosed, and the promised follow-up not being provided, I do not believe the full service charge was justified. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to friends, family, or business contacts.

Unfortunately learning it was worse than originally thought to be. In the winter my furnace stopped connecting to the thermostat, called them in cause I saw their number, turns out I had used another company before that. The Gentlemen came was here for a few hours, told me I would need a new furnace and hot water tank after charging me $850 for a new thermostat and “wireless cable” he did get the furnace working to heat my house. He left after telling me he had to replace the furnace and hot water tank, would get me a quote, then called to come back to say I had to pay more money to see if there was a line, if not they had to bring a different crew. Now it’s summer time hitting 40 degrees outside…. The internal temp of the house is at 38 degree’s, The AC had been disconnected. I now have another company at my house trying to figure out what and how he wired the thing to cool my house down. They are trying to understand why there is 12 cables. I can’t answer that as I only had 4 the last time. So dissatisfied to learn that the guy working on my stuff disconnected the AC and changed the wiring. I do feel he tried to use a lot of scare tactics and tech terms to confuse for a sale. It’s sad cause the guy did seem very nice.

Had an AC unit installed a couple weeks ago, it’s now nicely and fully cooling our older character home, which other companies told us would not be possible! The assessment and quote part of the process was quick and straightforward. The install was easy and painless. The unit is very quiet, and we are happy! The nice lady in the office helped us to know exactly what was gonna happen, everything was on time, with no surprises.

Great experience with North 49 from original consultation when our 34 year old gas fireplace stopped working through the sales process and to final installation. Nathan and Elliot were very knowledgable and professional and went above and beyond when small issues arose. They answered all our questions and explained exactly what they were going to do so that all current building codes were met. The ladies in the office kept us advised as to when our order would be filled and were flexible in scheduling the installation date when convenint for us. Elliot did an excellent job minimizing the damage to our stone work around the mantle in removing the old unit and installing the new one. They kept the work area very clean and were respectful of our property. We are pleased with the look of our new gas fireplace

We had an excellent experience with North49. We received prompt service, and we appreciated that the technician fully explained our furnace issues. We received a fast resolution, and the invoice was less than what was quoted to us by an alternative provider.

Do not use North 49 for fireplaces. I'm not sure what to make of our experience: whether it was attempted fraud or incompetence. We had North 49 out to fix a gas fireplace. We were told our pilot light assembly was irreparably broken. They said they *might* be able to find a replacement, but likely we would need an entirely new insert. The quotes were between $650-$7000 for those options. I don't want to look like I'm shilling for another company, but we had someone else come out and the fireplace was fixed, without any issue, in less than an hour. The technician said that whoever North 49 sent just didn't know how to work the starter. Nothing at all needed to be repaired. A quick clean was done. We reached out to North 49, at least hoping for an explanation or apology. We got neither. They said they had no comment because they hadn't been out for a few years to see it. I'm guessing they're under the impression that fireplaces magically repair themselves? So buyer beware. They may do good work with furnaces - we didn't use them, but the ratings are good - but in terms of fireplaces we're not sure what else to think other than that they are primarily dishonest salespeople. Should North 49 see this - even a simple apology and a review wouldn't have been left. Such a dismissive response, after telling us we needed to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars to fix a non-existent problem - is, at the very least, irresponsible.
