We own a small bottle shop with a taproom. We asked Ohio Heating to service the condenser for our walk-in cooler in 2024, which has turned into a couple of years of costly repairs that have not fixed anything. In the past several months, we have called for service, approved quotes, and then waited days to a week to even get a call back to confirm that parts were ordered or that we were being put on their schedule. Technicians have shown up without a scheduled time or without calling ahead, and then leave because an employee didn't know what was going on to give them instructions. If they would have called the primary contact, or reviewed their service order, they would have known what was wrong. After several parts, repairs, and service orders (4 visits from August 11-September 1), we still had a broken condenser as of last week. It seems as if, every time they cam out to service or repair, our issues became worse. We realized that this company did not know what they were doing, even though they were willing to continue to charge for service. We completely understand if this is not a product this company could service; we hope they would just be honest about it rather than charging us without actually fixing it. We recently switched to a new company, and they have taken the time to properly diagnose the issue, find a leak that was an ongoing problem, and respond to us appropriately.

Called Ohio Heating again to replace 21-year old hvac system. Could not have asked for a better experience. Joe, Kevin, Noah, and Shane were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions, cleaned everything up, and were such a joy to work with. It's a big decision to replace your hvac system, and Ohio Heating explained the options and made the process painless. I cannot thank them, or recommend them enough.

They refused to come out before the $89 service fee was paid even while all competitors either do it free of charge or ask for payment after the service. Also they said they couldnt provide photos.

Greg did a great job identifying a leak at my heat pump, getting it fixed and recharging the system. Glad to have the AC back on.

We've been looking for weeks for a reliable company to do ductwork for our house that requires risky drilling through the exterior wall. Dave is absolutely the best in the business. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained all work clearly in layman terms. If you are looking for honest, trustworthy business that will get the job done right, Ohio Heating is the go to company. Thank you, Dave.

I had Ohio Heating come out last fall to look over my boiler, as I mainly wanted an inspection and better understanding of the system. I was quoted a base fee plus hourly, but the visit ended up costing nearly $1,000, which was surprising given the scope. They then recommended about $1,600 in repairs, which I approved. After that work was completed, my boiler began leaking significant amounts of water daily, like enough where there was standing water at times — something that was never an issue before. I was then told it needed a pressure reducer, with another $800+ charge to fix it. It also took months to get someone back out, and when they finally came, there was no arrival window — they showed up unexpectedly at 8:00 AM, which caused further delays. I did ask if they would consider discounting the final repair given the situation, but the owner declined, stating the work was completed as quoted. While I understand that, it doesn’t address that the leak only started after their prior work. The technician was polite and professional, certainly knowledgable but overall the experience felt frustrating due to the costs, lack of communication, and how the situation was handled, which is entirely out of the technicians control I'm sure. Leaving this review is a bummer, because I was hopeful I had found a company that was going to be able to service my boiler system for years to come. I will look elsewhere. UPDATE: Response to Ohio Heating I’ve read your response, and I strongly disagree with how this is being framed. They did come out, but they did not even give me a time-frame. How can I plan my day around your expected visit when I don't even know when it will be? During the initial 6.5-hour visit, there was no meaningful leak documented or communicated to me. I called for an evaluation, and instead was billed over $800 and then guided into $1,600 in repairs based on your recommendations. After that work was completed, the system began leaking multiple buckets of water daily — a severe issue that absolutely did NOT exist prior. Now the explanation is that this was previously identified, worsened over time, or may have been impacted by outside changes. That does not line up with what was actually communicated at the time. If a leak of that magnitude was truly a known or imminent issue, it should have been clearly documented and emphasized during a 6.5-hour diagnostic — there is NO WAY the tech could have missed a leak of this magnitude. Shifting responsibility to timing, outside changes, or delays ignores the core issue: the severity of the leak only presented after the initial repairs were performed. I’ve paid the vast majority of what was billed and only held back half of the final invoice due ($400) to how this played out. Rather than working toward a reasonable resolution, I was met with a threat of a mechanics lien over the remaining balance — despite the fact that I’ve been actively communicating and attempting to settle this fairly. That approach speaks for itself. At the end of the day, this wasn’t about refusing to pay — it was about questioning why I ended up with a significantly worse problem after following professional recommendations, and why there’s been no meaningful accountability for that. To make matters worse, Jill even said "I apologize for the delay, but it has been a day of putting out fires."... yeah... I can understand why!

Leaving this review because they were closed by the time I had a chance to call. Friday 2/6 around 4-4:15pm one of their drivers driving van 44 was driving very recklessly. I was doing 80 passing a semi and his van was no more than a foot off my back bumper, I move over after passing he continues to tailgate the vehicle that was in front of me and had his left signal on for 2 miles even though he was in the far left lane???? Then a couple miles up the road I watched him shoot across all 4 lanes of traffic to make the west bound broad street exit off of 270, almost hitting another car in the process, the car had to slam on their brakes and swerve to not get their front end taken off, they handled it a lot better than I would have. Not too smart to drive a company vehicle with names and numbers all over it like that. If you guys cram your schedules that bad for your techs maybe learn how to manage/dispatch properly. No excuse for this guy almost killing people though. I guess if you call them for service you know they’ll be there fast at least? If that’s any consolation.

They came to quote doing a heat exchanger on warranty. They didn’t try to upsell me on a furnace, and they did the job in a couple of hours at a very reasonable price! Other companies wouldn’t even entertain doing the warranty job and tried to sell me a furnace, one even lied to me and told me the warranty was expired even after I told him that it wasn’t. 5 stars to these guys, when I do replace the furnace I’ll be calling them!

Thanks to Joe we didn't get swindled into buying a new HVAC by another company. He came out, was on time, incredibly professional and kind and fixed the problem in a timely manner. They were reasonably priced and we will be using them for all our future needs.

Very honest to company, which is hard to find in this industry. A little bit of a delay on my part being delivered, but Justin has the patience of a saint because I called him every three days asking for an update and he was very kind each time. I will continue to use this company for each seasonal visit

The agent responded to an emergency repair from homeserve, calling to schedule an appointment over a week out, knowing I have no working heat on a winter day. This, in turn, caused me to have to submit another work order when it was unnecessary and inconsiderate and lack of attention to detail to claim a job, they could not service in a timely matter

Smelly furnace smell a week after turning on; no major issues however, found that the gas pressure was high and it was recommended to use only the 3M red filter; thank you Greg Patrick for your help today and for providing honest service.
