Attempted to get an estimate to install AC in our home. An appointment time window was scheduled for them to visit, and they no-showed. When I called to ask why they didn't show up, an excuse was given but no apology, and was told they were unavailable to reschedule for 2+ weeks. Wasted half a day, and had to re-arrange my own schedule to be there, but at least I know they are not considerate. Will find another HVAC company that is.

Before the visit, I provided another HVAC company’s inspection results confirming that the furnace wiring, thermostat wiring, and A/C connections were working properly. I also provided detailed information showing that the contactor was the likely cause of the problem. In the end, the technician replaced the failed contactor, a part costing only about $64, and the system was fixed. However, because approximately three hours of labour were charged, the final bill was over $670. I understand the need for independent diagnosis, but I was disappointed that the information I provided in advance did not appear to reduce the diagnostic time. When I asked for a general breakdown of the labour charges, I was told that providing those details would result in additional charges. Based on my experience, I regret choosing this company and would not recommend it.

We recently used R & B for plumbing work at our home, and we were very impressed with their professionalism, communication, and quality of work. Sam initially came in to work on the mains water line and did very clean, careful, and tidy work. While on site, he also identified an additional concern with our water heater setup and recommended that their Technical Manager, Malcolm, take a look. Malcolm provided clear, practical, and very helpful technical guidance. He explained the situation in plain terms and helped us understand the available options and recommended approach. Hasem carried out the resulting work, and we were extremely satisfied with his workmanship as well. He handled a challenging job with care and good judgment, kept us closely informed throughout, and completed the work neatly and precisely. Overall, everyone we dealt with at R & B was knowledgeable, professional, and careful. They will be our first choice for future plumbing needs.

Very pricy for the service. Quoted ~300 for changing wax ring on toilet, ended up being $527 for wax ring change. Note: the company reached out to me, and made modifications to the bill, which I appreciate as a customer. Im upping my review in response.

They were quite kind for a plumber, however they lied about when they came to do their work, and they wasted lots of time. For example they had no pvc on hand and spent an hour going getting a couple pieces of pipe, while charging 200$ an hour. (They initially said 150.) Also any pipe prepared for them and any pieces replaced were immediately removed without prior consent , and we had to ask our parts back. All in all 2 hours of actual plumbing work was stretched into four hours, asking shy of one grand for two quick pump replacements. (Mind you, the pumps were purchased separately and prepared for installation, this is purely the cost of labour ). Surely this kind of scamming is not a symptom of a single professional but rather a fully fledged cancer that prevails in the plumbing profession and this institution in particular.

They were very thorough in assessing the exact cooling requirements based on the size and layout of our home, which gave us confidence that we were getting the right solution. They provided quotes for different indoor units so that we could compare and choose what would work best for us. The installation was scheduled promptly. The time line for the work was completed on time. The crew, Malcolm and Hesam were outstanding … professional, detail oriented and respectful of our space. They also worked to best meet the strata needs that were outlined to them. The work was done carefully and everything was kept clean throughout the process. Two serious issues with my heat pump installation. As a BC Hydro approved vendor, they should know to include the paid status and AHRI number on invoices for rebate applications. Despite requesting this multiple times over several weeks, it was never corrected and I lost a $1,000 rebate, at a time when I was laid off from my job. It hurt. I was also told at 90% completion that I needed to hire a separate electrician, not communicated upfront. The electrician they recommended arrived without tools and asked to borrow a kitchen knife for the breaker installation, which was super sketchy. Really disappointed with this experience.

Cullen, Mike and Kristian worked hard to replace a sewer line. The yard was kept tidy and the crew finished a day earlier than expected. I would not hesitate to use R&B again and fully recommend them.

I have used R&B in past years to clean and service my gas fireplace. Called to book them again to find their rate has increased considerably. On top of that they now charge a $10 "deisel fee" to every customer because of fuel costs! Screw that! I easily found someone cheaper who does not gouge every customer.
