• I could not be happier with the service provided. The AC was not working at our condo and after a short search and reading of reviews I called Reliable. They had someone there the same day. They repaired it and for 5 weeks it worked great. During this heat wave it failed again. I called on Saturday and again someone was there same day and for no charge as they had been there so recently. I knew the unit was old and was ready for the news we had to replace it. They followed up with me on Sunday. I asked if he ever takes a day off but he said they wanted to be available for their customers during the heat wave. It was over 100 degrees out and we have a second floor condo so it was too hot to stay there. I expected it to be days to replace, but thanks to a cancelation for the crane needed to put the unit on the roof, it was replaced on Monday morning. Old unit and all debris from installation was removed and everything is working great. Even deducted the full amount - parts and labor - from the first visit. We are so grateful for the courteous, professional, and quick service. I will happily recommend them to anyone.

• I owe this review from a year ago. I called on a labor day weekend and a day later, got one of the last units that did not require an entire redo of the HVAC unit. I appreciate the owner's responsiveness and education on refrigerants and the polite and skilled workers. With this heat wave going, I believe you will do well with calling Reliable Standard. The innovair unit is smaller and quieter than the giant one that broke and more efficient.

• Yes, honest companies with integrity are still out there and this company has it. I found them through a web search when my AC stopped working and my regular HVAC company could not respond for over a week. I spoke with Chris who told me, over the phone, several things to check that would shut my AC off (any other company just makes an appt to charge you $. I was talking with a real technician who was actually trying to help me and not concentrating on their pocketbook) I had already done several of the items Chris listed off. He was kind enough to squeeze me on to their busy schedule. A few days later Sean arrived and found that my AC condensation hose was blocked. My furnace pan in the attic was filled with water which activated the kill switch to my AC unit. Sean blew out the yuks in my condensation hose and my AC is back in business. I'm saying goodbye to my old HVAC company. I found a much better company in Reliable Standard Heating & Air.

• My very old AC finally stopped working. Two very well known and very large companies came out and gave me quotes to replace everything - $24000 for one and $46000 for another - because that’s what they said was necessary. I decided I needed a 3rd opinion. Called Reliable and was immediately told “sounds like you had a salesman come out.” Alex came out a couple days later and within about 2 hours my very old machine was up and running again. All of those “major issues” the first 2 companies identified were no longer an issue. My furnace was suddenly perfectly fine and my ductwork was adequate. Honesty in a trade professional is the most important thing to me. Alex could have gone along with the other two companies and probably came in well under them and sold me a whole new system. Instead, for a tiny fraction of the cost of a new system my current one is running fine and will get me through this season at least. Knowing that you are not being taken advantage of and having a company that responds quickly is invaluable.

• We had a bad experience with a different HVAC company (basically they started the job, left everything "undone" so we needed help with knowing our options on a home that was for sale. Chris was amazing by telling us what needed to be done. We ended up not doing anything as we figured the new buyer would have the work done themselves. • Family owned and operated. I've used Reliable heating, cooling, and air twice, and each time, was an amazing experience. I called because the A/C stopped working at my son's house, and we needed it repaired ASAP. Spoke with Alex (owner), and explained that there was a clicking noise coming from the compressor. My son and I watched as Alex diagnosed the problem as the capacitor, and contactor. Luckily, he had the parts to fix our Air Conditioning problem on the spot. The unit turned on, and when tested, it wasn't blowing very cold air (we wondered why the house was not cooling very well even when A/C was running). Alex told us the unit was very low on refrigerant, and added it. Alex was honest and extremely professional with this visit and when I used his company to repair my older A/C at my house a few years ago. My son (26) had experienced technicians that weren't honest in the past, and to witness an honest guy not try to upsell anything was valuable. • Chris is the greatest. I came back from a vacation to hot weather and I decided to check the condition of the filter in my HVAC unit. After removing the doors, they would not refit correctly and my unit would not work. Called Reliable Standard who were recommended to me by a neighbor who is a retired contractor here in Rancho Bernardo. On a Saturday morning, Chris answered the phone, which in itself is special. Chris patiently listened to my dilemma, calmly suggested something to try, stressing it might or might not work, and overall told me what issues I might face with an 'older' unit if I needed replacement parts. His suggestion worked temporarily, so Monday I was back reaching out via text and then another call. Again, Chris was professional and patient and asked for some pictures. I was finally able to have the panels put back into place correctly . All Chris asked for was a good review...and that was easy to do as he is the best.
