• I wanted to place an online order with them for some Generac components. They didn't have all the parts I needed listed on their website, so a quick phone call led them to put together an invoice with the relevant parts. They subsequently added these parts to their website as well which I appreciated for future purchases. Robert, the gentleman I dealt with, was helpful and responsive (with excellent response times), making amendments to the final bill based on the number of parts I ended up needing. Parts arrived quickly by Canada Post. Wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.

• We had Variety Plumbing & Heating come out on a Friday in September to have a look at our 5 year old central A/C unit as it was making some loud noises and not blowing very cold. The service man checked the compressor unit outside for a bit then came in and peeled the tin tape off of the access to the coil in the furnace to check that. He told me he figured the coil was leaking Freon and that he would top up the Freon and come back the following Wednesday at 9am to replace the coil. I took work off the following Wednesday just to sit around until noon when I finally called and talked to the owner. He told me there was no service call booked for me and didn't know what I was talking about. He said that his guys don't book the calls, he does. I explained to him that his guy did book it for that day and that I had taken work off. He said his guy would never had done that and that they were booked up for the day and they would not be able to come out to fix it. After I hung up with him I called an actual reputable a/c repair company and they came out 2 days later. It took their guy about 15 minutes to figure out it was actually the compressor outside that was the issue and not the coil inside at all. He also put new tin tape inside for me. A few days later I got a bill in the mail from Variety for a service call. I called the owner right away to ask him why he sent me a bill to have his guy come out and misdiagnose my problem, remove all my tin tape and then cause me to miss a day of work. His answer was that someone has to pay for his guys to be out driving around all day and it wasn't going to be him. I told him I refuse to pay for a service that I didn't receive and that it should be me billing him a days wages. He said he would just send it to collections and they would deal with me, which today I just received a call from the collections agency for the bill. Of course I told them I'm not paying it and I will be reporting them to the BBB and will take legal action if required. DO NOT do business with this company they are shady and dishonest.

• Terrible terrible and deceiving, arrived at my place at 8:17 and left exactly an hour after, running to the vehicle to grab instrument to work and want to charge me for time wasted. Charged me 2 hours time, I complained and was reduced to 1.5hours when they actually spent 1 hour on my job. If I didn’t complain I would have paid for 2 hours and ripped off. They are not truthful in their quote, I was told to check my AC will be $115 plus tax, didn’t mention $115/hour. Terrible customer service overall, avoid this scam.

• On Feb 20th 2026. My heat does not work. Only replace the board ,but he run out, run in my house to get the tool, 3 times total 2 hours .But the company must to me payment all the time he works. why ? It is does not fair for customer. the staff did not say how much charge fee the labor before he do and the part around $400 but the bill is 567 not tax . I will not recommend for other person. they do not honest about the price of service .

• Wow Devon is the man! I called Variety Plumbing bc one of our units in our apartment block wasn’t getting any heat flow. The unit is a family with 2 kids and so it’s urgent their heat gets restored quickly. I called Robbie and he had Devon there within the hour. Devon was in the unit for less than 5 mins and noticed the heat pipes behind the couch may be frozen due to the lack of circulation and bc the air conditioner was behind the couch also letting in a bit of cold air. I didn’t believe him lol but he took the torch to it and within less than a minute we had heat again. I was impressed and would have never have thought of that. • Excellent job quoting and installing a commercial hot water tank for our 18 unit apartment block. Robbie called around and found the best hot water tank price for us. He got back to me very quickly. I did not have to chase him for a call back. They got me a tank within 24 hours so our tenants did not loose access to water due to the breakdown. Tyson and Dustin worked very hard to make sure the install went seamlessly. Took 6 hours. Tyson showed up the day before to check parts and to make sure he would have everything he needed for the day of install. I really appreciated this bc it sped up the process and there was no wasting time. The guys cleaned up after themselves. They mopped up the water and even straightened my carpet out on the way out. This goes a long way as this attention to detail reflects the type of work they do. It must be hard to have passion for plumbing but they have it!! It was our first time using Variety and I was hesitant to try a new team. Happy to work with them moving forward. Do not hesitate to give Robbie a call for your HVAC needs.

• We've had issues with our Lennox furnace since almost day one of moving into our new home in 2012. Over the years, we've replaced the motherboard three times, the flame sensor, the pressure switch, the blower motor and most recently the gas valve (using several different plumbing and heating companies over the years). Variety did the gas valve in mid January 2024. They were able to come right away and help us out and get the furnace fixed for us. Furnace was working perfectly once they finished up. Jump ahead a month and on February 14, 2024, the furnace decided to stop working again. Potential issue was the motherboard again. Variety was able to come out again for us (practically right away) and help us out. They advised to put in a new furnace after discussing the list of issues and money we've already sunk into the Lennox (>$3,500). We took their advice and their team put in a new furnace that day. They were excellent to deal with and the team that came out was courteous and cleaned up after themselves. After putting as much money into it as a new furnace cost, it is nice to have some piece of mind that we have a much better product. Variety will definitely be my go to company for any plumbing and heating needs in the future.
