ACS installed our mini splits in 2023. At the time we were excited about their competitive pricing. Other estimates came in at thousands of dollars higher. We had a very good experience with Drake who installed the units. He was friendly and down to earth. The mini splits worked really well except for one which has been intermittently leaking. I called ACS and they sent Victor out on June 25. While he was friendly, he couldn’t find a problem with the unit and suggested we may need to replace it. The cost of the unit would be covered by the warranty (around $300 he said) but the labor would be twice that. He tried a couple things with the unit and said if it continues leaking, to call him and he would come back out. I paid him the $125 service call fee in cash and he said he would send a receipt. He didn’t. Then on June 28 I texted him because it was leaking again. I sent a pic and video of the leak. On July 9 he said he would come by and did not. On July 10 he said he was coming at 10am. Then just after 10 am, he said he was running late; that he had to stay at office until the owner Carl came in. He never showed up. On July 11 I texted again to see if he could come first thing on Monday; I got no response. Between me and my spouse, we have left 3 messages with their answering service today alone, after waiting 2 weeks for follow up. Finally the owner Carl called and sent Drake out today. Drake was great: he explained how things worked, what could cause the problem, and took all the steps necessary to determine the issue. I’m very disappointed in the lack of communication and expertise with Victor and Carl. Moving forward, we will work with another company for any maintenance issues that arise.

2026-05-29 The owner left a message today that a technician plugged in the cooler yesterday and "it's running fine." No mention of any repair. It is not running at all. Of course it was unplugged--because the fan is broken. The office hung up on me. THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG AT THIS BUSINESS. 2026-05-28 Still no functioning cooler. House at 82 degrees. Everyone is miserable. Owner called this morning and said technicans would come to replace the fan today. They did come but the cooler does not function. Unknown what work was done. No call from owner, no update, unknown what to expect. Installed new residential unit April 2025. May 26 2026 I need Air Conditioning Systems to address the latest failure of the new unit immediately. Last Friday the unit started making a terrible noise and we shut it down until the technicians could arrive. The house got up to 85 degrees even with fans. Today the technician confirmed that the spokes on the fan have broken. There is no reason for them to have broken. The fan must be replaced, if one can even be found, and with unknown labor cost. I have now spent $3,495.66 on a new cooler from Air Conditioning Systems and then $868.73 to another company to repair Air Conditioning Systems' faulty installation and I still do not have a functioning swamp cooler. This is the most wretched experience I have ever had with a company. To recap last year's events, in April 2025 you may recall that I called Air Conditioning Systems when, after three and a half hours of clanging and beating on metal up on my roof, their installers left without talking to me. Water was pouring off the roof and the furnace was blasting. The unit did not function, and it took two weeks for your owner to respond ,and then he only responded after I posted a negative review. In the interim, I had paid another company to complete the start up. Less than a month later, in May 2025,the brand new unit from Air Conditioning Systems started making a terrible noise. I called a different company (not Air Conditioning Systems) to check it. They reported that the unit had not been installed correctly and that a set key had fallen off. They were able to get the pulley and set key back on and get the unit working. I had hoped this was the end of the misery with this new unit, but unfortunately not. In August 2025, the unit again began making a terrible noise that a neighbor could hear from across the street in his house. I called the other company again, who reported that the pulley had again walked in on the shaft. Notably, they also told me that Air Conditioning Systems had not installed a new electrical panel board, and had reused an old electrical panel that was now failing. They got the unit running again, but said when the panel failed again, there would be no option but to wait until spring start-up to find and install another electrical panel board. The board failed three weeks later and we spent several miserable weeks until the weather cooled off in the fall. In March 2026, for spring start up, I had to buy the new board and thermostat because they are a package sold together. $449 for the panel and thermostat, for a cooler unit that was less than a year old. And now the broken fan spokes, and unknown repair costs. I have made two mistakes: Thinking that just one more repair would get things on track, and not immediately demanding Air Conditioning Systems remove this wretched equipment. The installation experience was so stressful, and their technicians so incompetent, and their office staff so rude, that I did not want them back. So, again, I have spent $3,495.66 on a NEW swamp cooler from Air Conditioning Systems then $868.73 to repair their faulty installation, and I do not have a functioning swamp cooler. Now the entire fan must be replaced. This has been the worst experience. I have also sent this message in an email to Air Conditioning Systems.

Had spoken to 2 other "bigger" companies that told me I needed to replace furnace. These guys found and fixed the problem in less than 10 mins.

Carl and his team were great! Our ac died and they were honest, genuine and fantastic. I didn't have to hear a sales pitch or speak to a "comfort specialist" like many of the bigger companies have. Installation went smoothly and I will definitely be using them in the future, when my other unit gives up on us.

3 weeks w/o air in triple digit heat, but Carl @ Air Conditioning Systems came to the rescue! My wife saw a full page ad on The Marketplace declaring thousands in Savings from Air Conditioning Systems Inc. & boy was that Accurate, we saved around $5000 from the estimates we had recv’d! We purchased a New Dual Rheem HVAC system w/refrigerated air & heat! Holly, the Office Manager said if the estimates you’re receiving r anywhere from $15 to $18k you’re paying too much! Labor costs can b thru the roof! Can’t say enuf from the 2 STELLAR EXPERIENCED JOURNEYMAN TECHS, Daniel & Umberto, who installed our System! They didn’t take not 1 break to relax from the sweltering heat on installation day, we urged them, but they said they were ok, they were determined to get us the cool air we anticipated, didn’t finish till late evening! Champion Job! They cleaned up, were very cordial & focused, & worked well as a team! Carl is Professional, No Nonsense & Holly is Experienced, both exhibiting a great demeanor to successfully get the job done & make the Customer Happy! Check em out, YOU WON’T B DISAPPOINTED, GUARANTEED!!!

They had replaced my girlfriend's furnace a couple of years ago. We got 3 bids, and they were the best price and after meeting Carl, trusted him and they did a great job. When my furnace went out in January two years ago, they replaced it. My A/C was 19 years old, and I had them replace it. Having talked to friends, I knew the ballpark price and ACS was under that, so I just went with them. Everyone is very helpful, prompt, courteous and answered all of my questions. I would highly recommend them.

Received an estimate to have my Rheem air conditioner and Rheem heater replaced. The system was originally installed in 2004. I didn't want to have the system break down in the middle of Winter. I received the estimate and it was much lower than other quotes. I called after finding their ad in the Market Place October issue. It was for a lower price yet, so asked if I could have the price in the MP? Carl Rechtenbach, the owner said yes. I really appreciated working with Carl and Holly, she works in the office, quit efficiently and answers messages as soon as she gets them. We set a date and Steve who I met when I went to give my check so they could order equipment for the install and get a date for install. The crew showed up the day of the install at appointed time. There were three employees and they got busy. They said probably 3-4 hours. They were finished in 4 or little less hours, cleaned up all areas they used, and tested the systems before they left. I appreciated the expertise the men showed while doing their job. Explained the systems to me and the job area looked beautiful when they left. Thank you all for your service, everything went as planned, and the job was finished in good time. I recommend Air Conditioning Systems, Inc they have been in business over 25 years.

Our HVAC system was over 15 years old and needed replaced. I got three quotes and luckily they were one of them. Carl ( the owner ) did the quote himself. No salesman! This call saved us thousands of dollars. Victor and his crew were very professional and did a great job installing. Highly recommend and a phone call well worth making. Thank you Carl and team!

We had a aerocool unit installed, to replace our old rusted swamp cooler. The install and duct work that was done has improved our cooling quite a bit. Now on low speed our temp is in the upper 60's. It's good to know high speed is there for the hotter days. Would recommend this company.

By far the best value. I called around to at least 20 places and Karl was straight to the point and never tried to upsell me. I've been enjoying my AC this summer. Definitely recommend.

Very pleasant experience from meeting with Carl to the installers who were pleasant, worked quickly, and left everything neat and clean. This applies to their installation of a mini-split at my office and at my home.

ACS Inc. had installed two evaporative coolers for me in 2008, they were expensive, $2500 apiece, but seemed worth the price, they included recirculating pump, winter sheet covers and one winterizing service. I was told that the recirculating pump and the winterizing service was required to maintain the warranty on the pads. I ordered a third cooler in 2015, assuming that all of the conditions were pretty much the same as before, BUYER BEWARE! The unit was installed so close to the roof that I can't service it, no recirc pump was included, winterizing service was not included, the installers gouged divots in the roofing. I paid for a winterizing service. The tech said that luckily he had very small arms and could get under the unit to service it, and said he would ask the manager to call me about raising it. No call. I called and asked for the manager and was told that he would call back. Two more calls and no return. Bad installation and terrible followup!

Shane came to my house and explained to me the problem and how much it would cost to fix it. The price was good and I'm cool again
