Had my plumbing inspection that’s included with the Home Comfort Club membership. Edgar Gonzalez was kind, courteous and professional. Communicated well, arrived on time and noted a few small issues, but didn’t try to hard sell me on anything, which I greatly appreciate. It was more informative and helpful. Thanks Edgar and Yellow Dot!! It was a pleasure :)

I feel I would have been taken advantage of if I had accepted Yellow Dot’s services. You recommended work I didn’t need, including replacing the TXV valve for nearly $2,000. I had another company test the system, and all I did was wrap the bulb to ensure it was properly covered. They confirmed that it did not need to be replaced.

This company is a mess... We had them bid a new HVAC unit for our upstairs a few months ago. We decided to move forward with them over other local companies as they installed the original units when our house was built. They offered 4 tiers ranging from around $9k up to around $20k. We like our house nice and cool in the summer and have noticed that the upstairs unit didnt always keep up. Well the sales guy promised that if we bought the 3rd tier (around $15K) that it would definitely keep up. Well it didnt and after finally getting someone out to the house to check it we were told that in NC there a max to the size unit (not true weve learned) were allowed to have and the unit we had was putting out as much air as it could. Basically saying that everything the sales guys told us wasnt true... Fast forward a couple months. We start getting water leaking from our downstairs bathroom vent. We call a plumber who then tells us to call an HVAC company. We reluctantly had Yellow Dot come back to inspect this as we had a service plan with them. Well the first tech told us we needed to now replace our entire downstairs HVAC unit... We didnt agree so they sent another tech. The second tech said the downstairs HVAC unit was fine but the original Duct work was breaking down and needed to be replaced. He also said that we had a humidity problem and that we need 2 Dehumidifiers to improve the temp differential between the basement and attic to the rest of the house (around $15k worth of work). Well we reluctantly agree to proceed. However a couple days before the work was to be completed someone else from yellow dot came out and told us that the DeHumidifiers (the most expensive part roughly $10k) wouldnt solve the condensation issue we were having and when pushed he couldnt give me a good reason for even having them. So we let them know to remove those from the bid. We still wanted the duct work replaced as we could see the that they did in fact need to be replaced. We asked MULTIPLE times for an updated quote. Never got one and then out of nowhere their techs showed up to complete the work. I did quick math and deducted the 2 humidifiers from the quote and assumed that would be the cost. I reached out to the sales rep and told him to let me know if it was anything different. I also asked him not to bill this work to the loan we were approved for when we thought it was the much higher $15k price for the dehumidifiers. Well... We get an email after they left that not only was the work they completed double the calculations I ran but that they had automatically billed it to the loan which I didnt approve.... I've been messaging my sales rep for over a week asking to speak with a manager and am getting no response.. What a mess of a company. Beware of the highly commissioned techs and sales reps pushing work that doesnt need to be done and then not responding when you have an issue.

My 86 year old mom called yellow dot for a maintenance check on her ac and not only did the technician show up but a salesman as well. She was told that her coils were rusted and advised it would be about $6000 to replace and because her unit was 10 years old and no longer under warranty it was recommend that she get a new unit. We called another company for a second opinion and was advised that her unit is in good shape. So glad we got a second opinion.
