  • Trying to be ahead of the weather, I called Big Cat Plumbing and Heating to have my roof mounted swamp cooler winterized and make sure the boiler is ready go. It wasnt a big job this time but I was happy to see Chris was the technician . He’d been here before. He’s knowledgeable, answers questions, and easy to talk to. Thank you Chris!

  • We had an issue with our furnace, Chris came out and checked to see what the issue was. Chris let me know what the issue was. Chris set up an appointment for a technician to come out for 9/29/26. Wyatt came today found the issue and had it resolved within a hour. Wyatt took the time to go over the furnace settings again with us. When we got the furnace it was explained to us that due to new regulations Colorado is a guinea pig state for this type of furnace. Big Cat has treated us really well and any employee that has come to our house has been professional and respectable.

  • Called on Tuesday afternoon and made an appointment for the next day. Jeff showed up before noon and scoped my sewer line and found the problem. Visionary Broadband had punctured my service line and the fiber optic cable was causing the backup. Great job by Jeff at Big Cat. Would definitely use the again!!!

  • I had two different technicians come out. One for my HVAC unit, one for my hot water heater. The gentleman who took a look at my HVAC unit was fantastic. He explained everything in detail, he was very friendly, and most importantly he did exactly what I asked him to do. The gentleman who took a look at my hot water heater on the other hand was quite disappointing. I specifically looked for a company on Google that would do detailed evaluations, and focused on repair rather than just replacement. I have a 16-year-old water heater that has continued to work well and I wanted it evaluated. When I made the appointment I specifically asked them to look at various details such as: Inspect the tank body, seams, base, and all water connections for active or historical leakage. Inspect the gas shutoff and connector. Check the burner/pilot, flame/combustion, and gas control. Evaluate the T&P relief valve and discharge arrangement. Check the venting/draft. Determine whether it was regulating temperature and recovering normally. Because its maintenance history was unknown, advise whether flushing/anode inspection made sense, whether disturbing it would create more risk than benefit, or whether it should simply be left alone. The explicit goal was condition/safety verification, not replacement solely because of age. When the technician showed up he took one glance at it and said I should start saving for a replacement. I asked him if there's anything he can do besides just looking at it. It would give me any information... He said no... I specifically asked if he can check any of the connections, if he would suggest checking the anode... Rather than giving me a detailed response he just said "nope, there's not really anything you can tell from the outside. It might fail today, it might last a while, You're doing the right thing by saving up money to replace it" I then asked him to look at the gas valve for my dryer which was also a specific request when I made the appointment.... He took one look, laughed about the fact that it needed to be updated... And that was the last I heard about it... He did do a great job when I asked about a few photos that I saw in the crawl space... He did actually crawl around on there which I greatly appreciate... But when he came back up I basically got a sales pitch about the things That needed to be updated or replaced. Then I asked him if there were any structural issues with my water spigots where I attach my hose. Again, I want to specify that when I made this call and when I was searching for companies, I was specifically looking for people who would evaluate the health of these things And suggest if meaningful repairs were necessary. When I asked him about the hose spigots he laughed and said he has no idea how they lasted as long as they have and that they needed to be replaced. He then gave me the full sales pitch about what it would cost to replace the water heater, what it would cost to replace the other things he found in the crawl space... Including the..." Here is your monthly financing option!" Pitch first before actually telling me with the total cost would be on the water heater. While I certainly was impressed by the HVAC technician, and I'm grateful that I had somebody actively looking for things to sell me in my crawl space, which tells me that by and large there's nothing obviously wrong outside of those things they flagged.... I am extremely disappointed that instead of the careful evaluation that I requested My main concern (The hot water heater) was essentially entirely overlooked. Everything else he found was pushed as a necessary replacement even though nothing had failed yet. I think the worst part of that experience was that after he tried to sell me on replacing my shut-off valves for water, he then tested my water pressure on my hot water heater (literally the only time he touched it) And ever since then it has been continuing to leak... Which was not an issue before he showed up...

  • Caleb & Dave installed the water heater with all the required fittings and drain components in good time. Travis & Nate installed the new central air and furnace units, required vents, wifi thermostat and stayed on to make sure we were up and running, then cleaned up. Talented! Very nice to work with Justin and Chris who recognized our older systems were no longer trustworthy and keeping us safe for the next decade and beyond! Very helpful, efficient, and were able to get this job done quickly.

  • Chris M. was courteous, timely and professional. Caleb and David, the crew that came to replace the water heater did a fantastic job and were pleasant and professional. I highly recommend Big Cat!

  • Our AC quit cooling recently. Big Cat responded the day I called them and quickly diagnosed the problem: a freon leak. Fortunately, replacement parts were available, and a repairman was able to have the system repaired the next day. There were two minor problems. One was a leak in the condensate line at a connection that had not been properly sealed. A different repairman was promptly dispatched and fixed it. The other problem was that a bifold door had been removed to allow work to be done on the system and was not properly replaced, which should have been obvious to the person replacing it. As I told the second repairman, ensure anything you touch is put back as you found it. If you have a problem, let the property owner know about it; don’t leave it for someone else to find.
