Excellent HVAC service! They were timely, professional, and trustworthy! I really appreciated that they were honest about what was needed and never made me feel like I was being upsold or taken advantage of. Highly recommend!

June 2026 Update: another great experience. Joanna always friendly and helpful on the phone and Kenny W as usual super professional doing my spring AC check. In addition to the standard service he also cleaned a pile of leaves out of the bottom, hosed the unit down and tightened the cover because he noticed it was rattling a lot when it ran. Much quieter now. Thanks Kenny ORIGINAL: Terrific people. When you call you get an actual human (Joanna) who schedules your service call quickly and with a smile. Techs are super friendly and explain things thoroughly. No high pressure tactics. The company leans toward repairing whenever feasible vs replacement but will tell you when things are too far gone. I’m on a twice yearly service contract, which I recommend. Brenten Ricks did my spring A/C service today and he was great. Friendly, on time, respectful, explained things well. I recommend this company.

Man came out to look at my gas furnace. He said all three motorized dampers need to be replaced. He said if one was bad his boss recommended all of them be replaced. He came out again later and determined that was the problem. The next day another man came out and determined that the heat exchanger needed to be replaced. He said he couldn't leave the furnace running because there was a chance of carbon monoxide. The part took 12 days to get here. They did not expedite the part. I was told by the technician that it only weighed 15 or 20 lb. This part was covered under warranty. This was in the middle of winter when we had freezing days constantly. I had to buy several heaters to keep my house warm. They charged me over $2,500 labor for 5 hours work and the time that it took to determine what the problem was. I'm running the AC now and it's not running right because of something they've done wrong. So do yourself a favor and don't deal with these rip-off artists. You shut off my heat claiming carbon monoxide poisoning. I had no choice but to approve the quote thinking you would expedite this and get it done instead it took 12 days. I understand you need to make a profit. You could have adjusted the price when you found out what the cost was. But you took advantage. Your man claimed the motorized dampers were fine when he finished. I won't ask you to come out and take a look again for fear that you will find something else to charge me for. Called in another contractor. You left wires on the gas furnace unhooked and taped together that he said is a no no. He plugged them back in. The wires on one motorized damper were not connected. He fixed this. He will install a short bypass duct to keep the unit from being over pressurized. This will give us full control of each thermostat up and downstairs. Obviously you sent people to my house that did not know what they were doing.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with this company, therefore when it came time to update my HVAC system I went with them. I got a heat up with gas furnace as backup. They don’t try to up sell, they are honest and very easy to work with. They coordinated with the company that encapsulated my crawl space, which was great because I didn’t have to be the middle person between them. They also install a new vent for my dryer and they even leveled my LG Tower for me.

We are so happy that Excelsior Air was highly recommended to us when our heat pump needed to be replaced. Excellent office staff, Joanna is alwaus friendly and professional when we call. When we did not understand our new, state of the art thermostat, Eric stopped by and answered all our questions and set us up for success. He also stopped by to check our system and filter after running for a few months and to see if we had questions. When our new heat pump showed signs of a problem, Joanna sent Mason over and he diagnosed the problem and made the repair at the same time. We are back up and running smoothly. Thanks so much.

Over the years these folks have done nothing but deliver fantastic service and support without endless upselling. Even yesterday they did a repair under the worst conditions of this heat wave.

I’ve been using Excelsior Air for HVAC services for years now. I always recommend them to others, every chance I get! Every tech that’s been out to my house over the years has been top notch (Kenny, Eric) and I also had them install a new system for me recently as well. Joanna is an amazing service coordinator as well, she’s always friendly and extremely helpful. Jesse (owner) runs an excellent company, and he isn’t afraid to dive into projects alongside his employees as well - that speaks volumes to his character. They’re the only company I trust for HVAC, period. Highly recommended!

5 Stars! Excelsior Air came highly recommended by my realtor, and they’ve absolutely lived up to the hype. They did some work for me when I first closed on my house, so I reached out again to get on a regular maintenance schedule. Kenny got me scheduled quickly and was incredibly thorough—he took the time to explain everything in detail and made sure I understood the ins and outs of my system. He really listened to my concerns and went above and beyond checking all areas. It’s such a relief to know I’m in good hands. I’m looking forward to staying on top of maintenance with Excelsior Air and continuing to work with Kenny and the team!

*edited to correct statement about management and provide additional details based on the company's response* I went with Excelsior which used to be Virginia Climate. Sharing so that future customers can be aware. - It took a month for contractors to get on the roof to access the HVAC and make a diagnosis. I contacted the company 12/27 and they didn't know how to get to the roof. I contacted again 1/7 after coming back to town. They tried to come back a couple times but said that the roof was too icy. - My response for scheduling and rescheduling since 1/7 are all documented in text. I always responded day of, typically within a couple of hours. - The diagnostic was finally completed on 1/16 (rescheduled from 1/9, then 1/13, then 1/16 bc techs could not access roof). We did not have heat this entire time but I was trying to cooperate with the company rather than look elsewhere. - The company sent me a $326 invoice, charging me twice for the trips and diagnostic because of the weather-related challenges. Of note- the techs were trying to scale the highest side of the building and was asking me to block off parking spots at random times of the day. The techs from a different company figured out how to get on the roof and access the HVAC from the shorter side of the building with sidewalk on 1/19. - I responded via email to Elizabeth that I was only willing to pay the originally agreed trip/diagnostic fee ($141) and should have been notified about additional charges. No response. - But I went ahead and PAID THIS INVOICE bc the diagnostic was eventually completed. - The second charge ($185) was not communicated to me, and thus not approved. Please feel free to send me the recording and I will edit my review if that is the case. - After several unanswered calls, and a written request for the model and serial# so that I could find a different contractor, Jesse responded via email saying that until I paid the full invoice, they were going to stop responding. He also pulled the estimate with the info I was looking for. - Excelsior quoted me $1630 for the job. I finally went with another well-established company who were able to come day-of and quoted me $925 for the same job with 2 techs. Obviously I went with them. Lack of communication and what feels like extortion during the coldest month of the year, my experience with Excelsior was awful.

I've used Excelsior Air three times over the last five years for ducting repair, diagnosis/maintenance, and most recently a full system replacement. Each crew was friendly, thorough and professional. I never felt upsold and their "what would you do" advice felt really genuine. It's definitely worth giving them a call, particularly if you have an old house and could use some outside the box thinking.

I cannot say enough good things about Excelsior, specifically Elizabeth, Gary and Eric. We have had an ongoing issue that they worked through with us and continued to follow up to make sure that our system is working as it should. They are flexible and professional and provide quality service. I am so glad someone recommended them to us a few years ago!

My A/C wasn't working because the drain on my heat-pump was clogged. I called Excelsior and they dispatched a tech to visit four hours later. Gary was professional, prompt, courteous and clear in his communication. I won't hesitate to call Excelsior for my future HVAC needs.

We’ve used this company for years so we were shocked by the level of customer service we received today! We called last night and left a voicemail to see about service today. We were contacted and told 1-5pm and then at 3pm contacted and told the technician was running late and wouldn’t arrive till after 5pm and therefore we would be charged after hours rates!! How is it our fault the technician is late and why should we be penalized? Unacceptable and poor customer service….especially to an existing customer!

Part of our unit froze on Christmas Eve causing heat to stop working. We couldn’t get in touch with any companies that were open until a neighbor referred us to Jesse. I texted him and within 30 seconds I had a response and we were on his list for a visit the same day. Jesse arrived at our house at 830pm on Christmas Eve, crawled under our house in freezing weather, fixed the issue and had our heat back on in no time all for an insanely reasonable price. We will certainly be calling Jesse and Excelsior for everything in the future!

We were on our way out the door for vacation and of course, our home had no A/C. We called Excelsior Air and they scheduled service for the same day after hours. We had someone home sitting for us and she said that the technician, Eric, was awesome. He was very courteous, on time, and professional. Our home sitter reached out to me this week to ask if I had Eric’s contact information. I,of course, referred her to Excelsior. Thanks again Eric! Not only do we appreciate the fix to our system but I also want to say thank you for great customer service!

From the moment they called me to set up an appointment, I knew this experience would be different from the last place I just had. The woman was very polite and bubbly! They got me in within a couple of days after another company failed to get it working for more than 4 days… but DzMitry was absolutely wonderful. He fixed what was missed last time and explained to me how the different components of my air flow amongst other questions I had as a recent first time home buyer. I appreciated the time and knowledge he provided me. I will definitely be going with this company from here on out!!

RUDE Owner! Jessie, didn't even try to help! I was asking for a quote. He asked me what quotes I already had. After I told him, he was like, yeah well mine are probably going to be the same if not more. All he cared about was MONEY!!!! I said, I guess we can just cancel the appointment and he was like, YEAH! What a total JERK!!!!!!! You will NEVER get any referrals from me, EVER!!!!
